Author has written 3 stories for Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Hey I'm Emily and I write sometimes.

Thought I should add a little something more to this profile :) (July 22, 2020)

I write to tell the important people in my life things I could never admit out loud.

My writing is very tied to music. Here are some artist recommendations, for folk/rock/indie/alternative: Wilco, Bob Dylan, Father John Misty, Twin Peaks, the Avett Brothers, Bruce Springsteen, the Clash, the Decemberists, Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, the Cranberries, Mitski, King Princess, the Smiths, Weyes Blood, Ramones, Houndmouth, and Hiss Golden Messenger. Some artists from genres I don't listen to quite as much are Harry Styles, Tyler the Creator, Kevin Abstract, Frank Ocean, ABBA, the Talking Heads, and Steve Lacy.

Incomplete playlist for When There's Nothing, as of ch. 24:

Dreams by the Cranberries
Good to You by the Avett Brothers
I'm So Tired by the Beatles
Nobody by Mitski
Ill With Want by the Avett Brothers
Masterpiece by Big Thief
Old Friend by Mitski
Disappointing Diamonds are the Rarest of Them All by Father John Misty

Telescope by Cage the Elephant
I Wanna Get Better by Bleachers

Additionally, I think that reading is absolutely essential to writing. Below is a short list of my personal favorite fanfictions I've found, but more importantly is a list of my favorite published books.

Favorite Books (an incomplete and always changing list)

The World According to Garp by John Irving
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris (essays)
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
Palm Sunday by Kurt Vonnegut
Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward

Happy reading! My PMs are always open.
