Author has written 6 stories for Inuyasha, and Harry Potter. Updates: 11.11.06 Removed "Manipulating the Beast Within" I can't stay on this site. I enjoy reading the works of about 3 people, which is why this account isn't being deleted. Stories? Slowly being removed, as soon as I back them up. A future return is possible, bu tnot likely. The Review Policy, obviously, is out of date now. A waste of my time. June 27th, 2006 Personal Info: PREVIOUS PENNAMES: blackcats of the moon AIM screename- bangninuo Name: Jessica Review Policy: I. Pertaining to what I believe in - I believe most flames to be unconstructive, and therefore, I do not accept them. Reviews just saying 'I hate you', 'Your story really sucks', or 'You suck' just don't help. If you dislike a story, you tell the author(ess) what you dislike about it, and what you suggest to help improve. Then - just stop reading it. Don't torture yourself, and other people may actually enjoy the story. Everyone's different. This doesn't mean that every story that's posted should be tolerated. Some can't even be called stories (and no, I am not talking about poems). Grammatical and spelling errors are acceptable - if there is not an excess of them. This is up to the reviewer's judgement, and should be proportional to the length of the chapter. Mistakes like these take away from the story's face value, which is not a good thing. Formatting mistakes are more easily forgiven, but shouldn't be done anyway. Upon discovery, it is the author's responsibility to change it - not the reviewers. All the reader can do is bring it to the author's attention. If there is no plot - you may weep for the poor soul who believes it can pass for a good story. Offer suggestions, then forget about it. Plagerism...I'm not even going to waste a lot of time talking about that. If you find that something sounds familiar, and there's no disclaimer telling you why - report it. Don't even warn the author. It is their responsibility to put them up. (This isn't about the disclaimers that everyone forgets once in a while.) I don't mind if you give me a review that crticizes my story - if you explain yourself. Most other author's are like this, too. They are like this for a reason. II. Pertaining to my reviews - People may call me a hypocrite, after reading the above. Sometimes I, too, am guilty of leaving a review that says absolutely nothing other than 'I like your story, update soon please'. It's laziness. However, recently I've gotten into a habit of doing what I believe in - telling why. I read the story, and tell them about the mistakes they made. Then, to 'soften the blow' (which should not be needed), I tell them what I like. If it's really a hopeless case - I tell them that too. Honesty is priceless. If you feel offended by my review, feel free to talk to me about it. My email isn't hidden for a reason. There is a pattern, though. To stories that have already established themselves in my mind (written by authors I respect), I do give empty reviews. There is little I would change, and the author obviously realizes what is needed. To new stories, or stories that lack in quality, I give longer reviews. It's actually very logical. III. Advertising - I'm okay with people asking me to read their stories with reviews...so long as it doesn't happen frequently. Your stories should draw readers because of the plot and quality, not because of what you do. Of course, advertising does help...maybe I should start again. I haven't in at least a year. In any case, if you want to draw attention to a story - write a semi-decent review of good length, and it's likely that it'll happen. This whole 'policy' may be edited and updated from time to time.
