Author has written 8 stories for Young Justice.

Hi everyone! I'm Iron Woobie. I'm relatively new to FanFiction, but the online community has made me feel at home, so I'm here to stay. Here on my profile page, I will have a brief introduction, and at the bottom I will give some more information about the stories that I'm writing. My associated username on Archive of Our Own (AO3) is CallMeIronWoobie.

The username? Google it. It basically sums up my entire writing genre. I like writing Hurt/Comfort, Suspense/Mystery, Friendship, and Family stories because I can generally get the most mileage out of them. If I include any Romance, it's (almost always) just to boost the main plot. (I'm not really into all that lovey-dovey kissy stuff, if you catch my drift. I like action and epic bromances best.) Currently, my main chapters have been averaging around 10K or 11K words apiece (though I'm now pushing 15K and 16K, yikes!), but that can vary upwards or downwards depending on the story's plot.

Above all, all of my stories will work from CANON. If it's not realistic and/or doesn't match up with the source material (TV shows, comics, books, etc.), then I won't dare to write it. Why? Because I figure that the reason we're in these fandoms is because we like the source material the way the authors wrote it in the first place. I don't think I have the right to mess with that too much. That's why none of my stories will be AU, and VERY RARELY would I ever try a crossover, unless it made sense in canon.

So which fandoms do I love? Young Justice, Justice League, Avengers, Teen Titans, Avatar: The Last Airbender... You know what? Basically anything that involves superheroes, superpowers or awesome skills, teens who save the world, or teams that save the world. (You can guess why that makes Young Justice my favorite show of all time.)

And as for me, I'm a 19-year-old college undergrad somewhere in the United States, doing a joint major in East Asian Studies and Government, with a minor in English and a language citation in Mandarin Chinese. My current focus is working on the Outlier series, but I occasionally make one-shots or mini-series to get those creative juices flowing. I try not to set goals for finishing Outlier because I get burned out that way (it's been two years since I started as a result... yikes!), and then I end up breaking promises to "update soon!" and then there's a 10 month hiatus or something, and... nobody likes that! So the story-writing goes at it's own pace.

Most of all, I love hearing feedback of all kinds from readers -- the more specific, the better! Anything you like/dislike, are confused about, want to know more about, have questions about, have predictions about, or even if you notice a typo or a factual inaccuracy, I welcome it all! Feel free to leave a review or even shoot me a PM, I try to respond to all messages as long as they're not made from a Guest account (then I can't reply to you!)

Below is the breakdown of my stories and how they align/match up with one another. Hope you enjoy!

THE ODDS (Series of 4 Stories):

  1. Outlier - Teachers. The Team. The Rogues. Loved ones. Injuries. Speed. Secret identity. Between all the balls Wally juggled, it was remarkable that he'd even made it this far... They say that speedsters have ridiculous good luck, until they don't. By now, Wally West is an outlier, a fluke, and his good luck has reached its limit. So naturally, karma likes to strike back with a vengeance. (Takes place during Season 1.)
  2. Variable - (Takes place between Seasons 1 and 2.)
  3. Limits - (Takes place during Season 2.)
  4. Infinity - (Takes place following Season 2.)

Currently In-Progress: Outlier (Chapter 19/25ish)

Independent One-Shots: (independent of each other)

  1. Here Is What I Know - A peek into our favorite young speedster's consciousness as he's locked in his perpetual sprint. The ginger has been doing this for quite some time, and when he's bordering on an existential crisis and doing his best to dodge a total meltdown, the logical scientist in him comes out. "Keep it together, Wall-man, think it through. This is what you know..." Post-Endgame.
  2. Nine In All - A strange part of him was hoping Barry would contradict him, come up with some bizarre speedster theory of how the guy could dig his way up from six feet under and start running around the world again. Hoping for a miracle or something. But… Dick had to face the fact of reality. Sometimes the good guys just can't get back up again. T for references to character death.
  3. Sizzle - It's sometimes easy to forget that Wally and Artemis were friends before they were lovers, and that sometimes, even the term "friends" was a stretch. After all, there's a reason why they're referred to by the name of "Spitfire." A reflection on the nuances of Wally's relationship with Artemis. Free verse, oneshot.
  4. Five Times Wally West Passed Out, and the One Time He Wished He Did - Kid Flash's medical file states that the teen speedster averages about eighty-five concussions in any given year. Sure, he can recover in a heartbeat, but even so, Wally has had more than his fair share of pass-outs, blackouts, faints, and general unconsciousness. These are the top five of his "finest moments", plus one. Series of one-shots.
  5. Bouncer - At six one, 185 pounds, and the natural lean, sturdy muscle that came from a speedster's metabolism, Wally West had the right build for the job. It was just a matter of time. A story of how former hero and current Stanford student Wally West worked as a bouncer at an Irish pub, finding new ways to do what he'd done before: protect and save people. Oneshot.

YEAR 2000 (Companion Series of One-Shots):

  1. Year 2000 - It's the year 2000, and Barry Allen has just started his career as Central City's resident speedster, the Flash. Fresh out of college and adjusting to life, he's got the woman of his dreams, the best bromance any dude could hope for, villains who keep him on his toes, and Wally - an incredible tiny friend that almost intimidates him with his intelligence. Now a series of One-shots.
  2. Year 2000: Bylines - It's the year 2000, and Iris West has just started her career as Central City's up-and-coming crime reporter. Fresh out of high school with big ambitions, she's got an unparalleled mind and talent in her field. At only 19, Iris is the finest investigative journalist Central City has ever seen - even if the men of the newsroom refuse to admit it. Series of One-shots.

Again, I cannot stress how much I appreciate it if you leave reviews! I read them all, and they give me the inspiration I need to keep writing! I welcome constructive criticism and value accuracy, so if you see mistakes, feel free to let me know!

Yours truly,

Iron Woobie
