About Me

I am a law student in my mid-twenties, who is escaping briefing cases for a short while by reading and writing fanfiction. I used to write a lot more in my middle school and high school days, but I gave it up when I entered college since the workload was too much. I actually had another account that was mainly focused on fanfiction for books by Tamora Pierce, but I decided I wanted a fresh start with this account. My writing back then was pretty sub-par and I would like to think I've grown a bit since then, so I wanted a new platform to show that to others.

Obviously, I love books. I would list all my favorites, but I would be here all day. Besides my book obsession, I was pretty athletic in high school and college and played soccer and ran track (everyone always asks if you played track; trust me, there is no 'playing' in track lol). Now, I still run when I can (I have moved to a very hot place with lots of humidity, so that can be tough), I am in a soccer league and I have taken up boxing. I also do enjoy television, though not as much as I did in middle school and high school. My favorite current shows on TV/Netflix are pretty reflective of the fact that I studied politics and government in college. My favorites are House of Cards, Game of Thrones and Parks and Recreation. If you do not watch them, I suggest you hop on it. They're all awesome.

Yes, I know Fem!Harry stories are super cliched and rarely ever well written, but I am a sucker for them. It probably did not help that I have found a few on this site that are very well done. I've actually attempted writing a Fem!Harry story for a few months now, but every time I write a few chapters, I re-read them and I say to myself 'This is utter and complete shite,' and add it to my story graveyard on my computer (I currently have 7 stories resting there). I tried my best to write a Fem!Harry that was original, one that had a different background from other Fem!Harry's that have haunted this website, and I think I've found it with this story. I've switched Harry and Neville around with their roles and tried to go from there. I think a famous Neville would have been a lot different from canon-Neville, especially with the influence of his grandmother. As for Harry, I think he would have been cast off more to the side. Dumbledore would not be breathing down his neck, along with the rest of the public.. The only thing that is annoying me about this story right now is how close I have it to the canon timeline. However, I think it's hard for any author to wrench it away from a canon timeline, when you start with the fourth book because the tournament dictates so much of it. Hopefully, once I break out of the Goblet of Fire, I'll have a little more wiggle-room.

The Boy Who Lived (Published in August, 2014)

So, when I started writing this story back in June, I had no idea (obviously) that there would be three plane crashes in a row during the month of July. I was horrified and extremely nervous about posting this story, since it does begin with a plane crash. I did not want people thinking I was jumping on three extremely tragic situations and calling me some kind of monster. Even though I was anxious to see what others thought of my work, I held back publishing my story for the sake of decency and respect for the victims of those tragedies. I am still not certain I postponed my story long enough, but there's nothing I can do now. It's up and people are reading it.

This story has been influenced by a few real-life people. I actually watched CNN's sole-survivor documentary a few months ago and I thought the concept, while awful, was still intriguing. I started reading up on sole-survivors of plane crashes and soldiers who were experiencing survivors guilt to see what I could draw from it. My main influence for The Boy Who Lived is an extraordinary girl named Bahia Bakari, who at the age of 13 was the sole survivor of a plane that crashed into the Indian Ocean in June, 2009. She clung to a piece of wreckage for hours until she was rescued by local fishermen. If you have not heard of her story, I would suggest reading up on it. She is a resilient young woman who I admire very much.

I have high hopes for this story and I am really excited to keep writing it. I appreciate the support and if you have any suggestions, I am more than happy to hear them. Thanks for reading!!

The Accidental Seer (Published in May, 2015)

This is just a fun pet project that I started randomly. Sometimes I need to work on one story to help me gain inspiration for another, which is what this story is doing for me. It's sort of like dangling a carrot in front of a horse to make it work harder. I guess that makes me a horse... Oh well.
