Er... excuse me for that; my rambling enthusiasm took over my fingers. 'Why am I not deleting it?', You ask? Well... it's actually a nice way intro to the fact that, as of 1:23 AM, Thursday 29th July, in the Year of COVID-19... I'VE GOT SIX HUNDRED REVIEWS! Six hundred people! Woooooo! Seriously, though; I should have done this at the 500 review mark but I was in something of a rough spot back then and celebration didn't seem worth it. Now?! Imma party! Once more, I'd like to thank each and everyone of you that reviewed A New Life to this point. Every review alert sent grateful tingles racing across my brain and each one (even the somewhat harsh ones) struck me like a bolt of lightning. Also: I just got an Epiphany as regards the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Now most times we see Naruto obtain the Mangekyō, he typically utilizes the same old abilities other sharingan users have.

I believe this is slightly flawed.

Note my usage of the term 'slightly'.

From what I now understand, the Mangekyō is a manifestation of the inner desires of the Uchiha's heart as at when it is activated.

Case Samples:

Obito Uchiha: Obito attained the Mangekyō upon seeing Run die. I believe his unique ability, the Kamui is a reflection of his heart's desire as at that moment: he must have felt useless as he could not reach her in time to save her and he must have cursed himself for being crushed by that rock in the first place. Result? An ability that allows his appear anywhere he needs to be in an instant plus the ability to 'never' get hurt again.

Itachi Uchiha: My favorite Uchiha, he obtained the Mangekyō upon seeing Shisui die. He lived a life of deceit, a blend of reality and illusion. Result? A greater grasp of genjutsu than damned near anyone. Not a special technique, you say? Try being on the end of some of his genjutsu...

Sasuke Uchiha: As at the time the emo fanboy-king himself gained the Mangekyō, he was burning inside with a rage, a dark, hate filled rage. Result? Greater control and manipulation of the Amaterasu flames.

Madara Uchiha: The terrifying legend himself had a mindset of 'power conquers all'. Result? His Mangekyō worked faster and better than any other sharingan, allowing him greater mastery over taijutsu, genjutsu, ninjutsu, kenjutsu and sufficient power to enslave the most powerful bijū. Well, this is my opinion. Nothing on shisui since I don't know much about him. Later.

Bullying in the shinobi academy is permitted for a reason.

Why?

Well, let’s look at the first scene presented in Naruto: The Last.

We see Hinata, scion of the Hyuga clan, being bullied by a bunch of idiots.

Why would Hiashi allow such? And I dare you to tell me that he would because [according to fan fiction lore] he hates her for being such a damned pussy.

Any how, ignoring my random comment, why did he allow her to be bullied?

My belief is this:

It is completely intentional.

In the shinobi world, they’d have to have been monitoring the kids in the Academy in order to know their strengths and their weaknesses right? Well, what if they allow bullying in a controlled environment to gauge the reactions of the soon-to-be shinobi? After all, you are being taught how to maim or kill people so why exactly aren’t you fighting back?

How do you react to being bullied? Do you fight back or do you cower?

Also, for the select few that aren’t bullied, how do they cope? Do we find any one willing to manipulate one of the bullied in exchange for ‘protection’?

The results of all these, taken with the regular studies, would be factored into their final assessment.
