Author has written 4 stories for Maleficent, and Strange Magic. Note to reviewers: Of late I have been noticing many are being over critical of the work I do and are constantly saying I go out of character. I am not going to say that I always stay perfectly in character, but what I like to do is to show growth with a character and change. Often I see complaints about Bog from my Strange Magic story and I have to say I have been taking OOC comments with a grain of salt on him because no one in the movie showed greater change than he did. As for him addressing Dagda, The Fairy King (Marianne's father) as "his majesty" long after they were on a first name basis is just showing respect on Bog's part because Dagda is the elder of the two. Keep in mind that he is going to be his future father-in-law. So naturally he is going to be as respectful as he can. Granted I did further embellish on Bog being a gentleman, but after all this is MY take on the story. This also goes for other characters as well. In my book Marianne herself has also undergone changes and so has Dagda. Many in the fairy kingdom were the same as they thought that Bog was just nothing more than a ruthless, loveless, killing machine. But when they realize his true nature, they do change towards him. My other story, "I'm Alive" is also about change and people's perspectives towards different races and interracial couples. Maleficent and Diaval go through many changes in their character from when they are first introduced to how they are in the final chapters. So my take on it is this. If you enjoy my stories, thank you, I would like to hear about it. But if you are going to sit there and pick little details apart and nitpick on character changes, then I don't want to hear about it. Alaso a ton of work went into these stories and I DO read through them a couple times before posting so this way I do try to catch mistakes before posting, but sadly I am not a professional proofreader and mistakes do slip through. So I do not want to hear about issues with grammar and punctuation as I KNOW I am not a professional writer. It seems that lately I been receiving more negative comments than positive ones and while I am assuming the criticism is to be constructive, I also would like to hear what it was that a reader liked in the story. Initially there was a good balance here, but I have noticed that since 2019 to present day, I am getting more negative remarks. I am getting to the point of getting tired of the negativity and if it continues, I am going to turn off the reviews on my stories. I am sorry for sounding harsh, but it seems that (lately) people are quick to judge on a negative level and frankly I deal with enough negative in my life as it is. Thank you, Rave |
