It was not a lady's imagination that led a rapid jump from admiration to matrimony skipping over love, but it was rather the heated actions of both. Deep feelings tend to get in the way when hidden and can undo the potential for happiness.

Can they open up to each other and build the bonds needed to survive a most unequal match between a young lady of little fortune and a member of the aristocratic elite?

Lizzie catches the very first flight she can to be there for his family, but it's way too late to be there for the one who matters. A short modern AU, set four dreary years after Darcy's first profession of love.

Modern AU. Lizzy Bennet has only met Will Darcy twice before, but she is certain that she does not like him. Then, her sister gets engaged to his best friend, and she and Will are roped into the wedding planning. Suddenly, they're going to florists and picking out his suit together. But there's nothing going on between them. Really.

FIRST THREE CHAPTERS ONLY - Mr. Darcy arrives in Hertfordshire the day after Mr. Bingley meets Jane Bennet and her sisters at the Meryton Assembly. But she doesn't want him, and Lord Darcy's love only grows more desperate... (Complete, and now with an alternative ending! I changed the rating to Mature for this part of the story.)

Growing up as neighbors means a lot more fights, a lot more making up, and a lot more complicated feelings to resolve for Elizabeth and Darcy. A short Regency AU.

While traveling with her aunt and uncle through Derbyshire just before her twentieth birthday, Elizabeth Bennet finds a young lady crying beneath a tree on the green by the smithy. The girl is Miss Georgiana Darcy, and Elizabeth begins an acquaintance with her and her brother that leaves Elizabeth thoroughly charmed. This is the 1st chapter to a full JAFF novel.

Set shortly after Jane falls ill upon going to Netherfield Park, Elizabeth follows and injures herself on the way, only to be rescued by one Mr. Darcy. A divergence of the events in the original Pride and Prejudice.

Darcy and Bingley are stranded in Meryton and become entangled with an eccentric cluster of sisters—The Nunnery at Longbourn. Colonel Fitzwilliam blows in. Mr. Collins writes Lady Catherine to come. Bingley asks Caroline to keep house and she brings a friend. Intrigues occur as the weather keeps everyone in village. Excerpt only, story pulled for publication.

Elizabeth Bennet cannot talk about books in a ballroom, but apparently, she can do arithmetic. A little light-hearted diversion at the Netherfield ball assisted by the stone-cold precision of mathematics (Short Story - Complete).

I wrote this in response to the March/April 2017 writing prompt "The Best Set-Down" in AHA's "The Playground" forum. It is bit of OOC fun, which I hope you will enjoy.

Half English/Half French Lisette runs halfway across the world to escape marriage the oily Mr. Collins. Singing, fun & frivolity. High seas adventure, a hurricane, kissing, Captain D'Arcy & misunderstandings! And Lisette/Lottie/Louis/Elisabetta depending on the disguise at the time. Melodrama. "You are the captain, how would we marry, you cannot perform the ceremony yourself!"

A light modern-set what-if story. Pure angst-free fluff. Bingley and Darcy meet some ladies at a bar. This was originally a one-shot but is now a two-shot! Any and all feedback would be most welcome!

An irrational man's mind is very rapid. It jumps from friendship to coffee, from coffee to marriage in an instant. A love story between two windows.

First Lizzy had learned of Mr. Darcy's hand in breaking Jane's heart, and then he had offered the most insulting marriage proposal in history. Could a day get worse? Only if she were to be threatened at sword-point, tied up, and whisked away by a rogue, with only the world's most arrogant man to watch over her. Luckily, that wasn't very likely to happen...

Elizabeth is sent to London to enjoy the fall season and does not return to Longbourn until Christmas of 1811. (This is a relatively short story - about 25K words - and it focuses almost entirely on Darcy & Elizabeth.)

When life gives you lemons, you should probably wonder where the hell they came from since no one in New England has seen any citrus in the past five years. At least, that would be Lizzie Bennet's first instinct. But then again, her instincts aren't always perfect, as evidenced by the case of one William Darcy. A light, modernish, distopian take on the classic story. *updated*

What if Elizabeth met Darcy once more at Rosings after reading his letter?

Dr. Bennet, Lady Catherine's personal physician, has brought his family to live in the shadow of Rosings park to benefit from the attentions of his patroness. Headstrong Elizabeth seems to thwart the great lady at every turn, but for the sake of Anne, Elizabeth is forgiven–until she refuses to turn her back on Mr. Darcy.

Jane Bennet forces her sister Lizzy to join her and her new boyfriend on a ski trip. Only problem? It's a twelve-hour drive to the mountain, and Charlie Bingley insists on bringing his best friend, introverted and obnoxious Will Darcy. Super-duper short modern AU—maybe three or four chapters—roadtrip style.

A grad student struggling to make ends meet, Eva Barringer takes up a job waitressing a local coffee shop. A love story of lattes, with a smattering of scones and just a hint of a Caribbean vacation.

What he feels for her must be something else entirely, something ineffable, something so beyond words that to try to verbalise it would be to sully it.

What if Darcy hadn't said, "She is tolerable." What if instead he had said...

Elizabeth Bennet, on her way from Kent to London after receiving Mr. Darcy's awful proposal and life-changing letter, falls victim to a freak spring snowstorm, and the only man who can save her is the one she had totally rejected as "the last man on Earth she could be prevailed on to marry."

Darcy gets a little therapy. Short one-shot.

Darcy arrives in Meryton a month late because Georgiana requires his company in town. As a result Elizabeth and Darcy meet not at the assembly but under entirley different circumstances. One-shot.

It rains and it pours and he can think of nothing but Lizzy Bennet and the handprint she left on his heart. A story about loss, love, rain, and how the three changed William Darcy.

Time, which changes people, does not alter the image we have of them. AU-Regency era, angst, rated for thematic elements, language, and content.

Elizabeth always enjoys making temporary friends on airplanes, but when her only option for conversation is a perpetually scowling businessman, she may find that her 'single serving friend' is more permanent than she thought. One-Shot

They walked on, without knowing in what direction. There was too much to be thought, and felt, and said, for attention to any other objects.

Following the Netherfield Ball and Mr. Collins' unsuccessful proposal, Elizabeth Bennet finds herself forced to reconsider her previous perceptions of certain individuals. This is my first P&P, so feel free to make any comments .

Not being able to breath the air at Longbourn after Mr. Collins' longwinded and insincere proposal, Elizabeth heads for the woods where she runs into an injured Mr. Darcy.

Elizabeth and Darcy meet for the first time in the summer of 1811, at Ramsgate, over tea and a nearelopement with few of the prejudices that plagued the original courtship, they quickly and easily become friends.

ONESHOT, may make a story out of it. Elizabeth is forced against her better judgment to engage in a game of Hide and Seek with her younger sisters as they elude Mr. Collins. Unfortunately Elizabeth encounters a completely different man on her ramblings..

In a P&P altered reality, Mrs. Bennet is deceased, and Elizabeth & Darcy find themselves drawn to each other by a series of eerie premonitions...but a conspiracy lurks in the shadows.
