I finally got around to writing a profile and it only took me a year and a half.

I’m a Brit and a single parent. I try and fit some writing in the spaces between doing the other stuff I have to do and raising my beloved offspring (singular, I've only managed to reproduce once, so far).

I’ve always loved sci-fi; Alien was my first and most favourite. Everything about it is amazing. The plot, the H.R Giger creature design, the dialogue – it’s all perfect. Ripley was my hero growing up; she’s smart, brave, doesn’t take any shit. God I love her.

In fact; Aliens, Predator, Terminator, The Thing, Robocop… I have a soft spot for all that 80s sci-fi. Oh, and Aliens vs Predator. I know the special fx are a bit shonky in places, I know it’s trashy, I know it’s cheesy, but I don’t care, I love it. Lex in the movie actually reminded me of Ripley quite a lot in many ways, especially the 'doesn't take any shit' part.

I also like a bit of fantasy now and then, especially Conan the Barbarian (the Arnie ones, not the new one) and Game of Thrones. Anything sufficiently macho and bloody, really. I used to read a lot of 2000 AD comics, Judge Dredd and Slaine being particular favourites of mine, however, being a parent makes it hard to keep comics (or anything) in one piece. They tend to get ripped up and used to make a ‘nest’ for toys or whatever.

Anyway writing is what I love to do. I hope that what I write is enjoyable for others as well as just for me.

I'd love to write professionally one day. I'd also love to be a huge, armour-plated, alien killing-machine one day. Everybody's got to have dreams.
