![]() Author has written 2 stories for Laramie. I live in the UK, in Essex, with my husband of 47 years and my current cat, Twiggy. I love westerns, Tai Chi, Reiki, anything to do with the paranormal and growing flowers and vegetables. At 71, I also have a passion for bead weaving. I still work three days a week as a legal secretary for Intellectual Property attorneys and I really love my work. I only recently discovered the joys of writing and I have Patty Wilkinson to thank for that. I love Patty's stories and had her permission to try writing a story which included her character Millie. I enjoyed the process so much, I am now hooked and hoping to produce a few more stories, if my other hobbies allow me the time. I was 13 when Laramie was first shown on UK BBC television in 1959. I instantly fell in love with Jess Harper. None of the clean-living cowboys with white hats, pristine clean shirts with knife-creased shirt sleeves and no sweat marks, that had appeared on TV before Laramie could compare with Jess. A little touchy, a little vulnerable and more than a little dangerous... what more could a 13 year old ask for in a hero (or a 71 year old either for that matter). Jess lasted the course, when others fell by the wayside. I missed out on Laramie because of travelling to and from school and also because at 17, I joined the WRAF and no one else was interested in watching Laramie on the communal TV. When it was eventually rerun in, I think, the 80s, I fell in love all over again. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Fuller in 2017 at the Laramie Jubilee celebrations and received a wonderful kiss and hug and I was thrilled to hear that gorgeous voice in my ear whispering, "You're a real sweetheart". I really enjoy hearing comments from the readers of my story. It's the only payback a writer gets, after all, so don't be afraid to voice your opinion or to have a go at writing your own stories. Love to you all... Linda |
