I love to edit-anything that needs improvement, I can help with. I look at sentence structure, vocabulary, and flow. It's just what I love to do. I want to be a better writer, and I want to help others to be better writers. I will do whatever I can to help. If you want me to help you, jut let me know through a PM. I don't bite, I promise. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I absolutely love editing, and the only reason I can say this is because I'm so harsh on myself. But it makes me better, and I want to help other people to be better, as well. I go well beyond changing around more than just a few words to make a story better. I look at the whole picture. This may be a matter of opinion, but I feel like I'm very good at getting the "flow" of a story, so if need be, I can help with flow and transition. Characters are my PASSION, so I can definitely help with characterization-I'm glad to do it. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'll admit it, I'm nit-picky. I will notice small things, though if I'm given instructions for editing, I'll try and follow. I'm not an elitist by any means, but I am critical. I know that I can be stubborn and will sometimes assert that my way is better, but I try not to be quite so pigheaded. Also, I'm not good at poetry. I can't write it, and the only poetry that I really LIKE is T.S. ELiot. So I'm not the one to go to for poetry, haha. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I'm open to most anything. In particular, I like character-driven stories, but that's just something of personal style. I'll admit, I'm a slasher, but I'm totally fine with hetero pairings. I find that male characters are easier for me to write, personally, but there's always room for me to improve. Also, with slash (m/m, specifically), I prefer both characters to be MASCULINE to at least some degree. Not saying that they both have to be lumberjacks (though wouldn't that make for a great story?), but I prefer reading stories where one isn't a total girl. Just a thought. If you need help with it, though, I'm there for you. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
As I said, I'm not good with poetry. Or, like, westerns. Horror is iffy to me, because I'm not a horror connoisseur myself, so it'll be harder for me to edit. I'd feel uncomfortable editing a TOTALLY graphic sex scene. I don't do hardcore porn. |
