I am a born critic. I have been reading on my own since I was 5 and have many great and not so great authors to compare things to. As such, I read well into many stories without any expectations or many preconceptions. I often find small ways that a story can twist and I enjoy when it goes another way altogether, especially when it makes sense, sometimes even when it doesn't. Anyone wishing to use me to beta-read, just contact me via the message system and provide me an email address so we can sort out the details. I have lots of time on my hands to read through stories and provide insertions, re-writes if you want, grammar and spell-checking, or just plain "will this be well received?" comments.

Fast reading and an ability to pick out improperly used words easily. I love spell-checker, but it won't dicern the use of there and their very well, I do. I am a very broad reader and as such I am able to "reset" my style to the type of story being read. I have a strong working knowledge of the MS Word editing system that allows changes to be inserted as notations so that the original is not changed, and all suggestions are clearly marked with any required explanations.

I'm an ass. I can come across as arrogant and overbearing sometimes. Ignore HOW I say things and pay attention to WHAT I am saying and point out when I am being a jerk; things will go by just fine then.

My general tendencies are for Sci-Fi and fantasy, but I also have a love of historical fiction and adventure stories. But I'll read through anything; just don't expect me to proofread a technical document on nuclear physics or the history of Zimbabwe with me correcting any technical errors beyond grammar and/or spelling and we're good.
