Reviews for Diplomatic Troubles
TheDrabbleOfBlue chapter 2 . 11/25/2015
Dye for Chocolate nearly made me laugh like a madman in the office. Good job. :D
Guest chapter 1 . 10/29/2015
Elegant if not small means large and elegant. Just wanted to point that out.
Lil' Pink Headphonez chapter 2 . 6/28/2015
The moment I read 'Dye for chocolate', I absolutely lost it. XD
IHateDeplomacy chapter 2 . 6/27/2015
That story was, is, and will forever be, perfect. I laughed at so many at these because I could relate. Trading is such a hassle, I kinda stopped doing it. Last one was probably one of my favorite, along with the Dyes for Chocolate one. I wish you would make more chapters of this, it's very good. Actually, probably one of the best stories I have ever read on here, or anywhere. :D
Guest chapter 2 . 6/17/2015
This was awesome! LOVE the banter going on during council meetings. And then theres Montezuma and his random visitsXD You should make more chapts if you can. The story seems humorous, added with your command of the English language, this will turn out great.
Mr. Grool chapter 2 . 6/9/2015
Well, like I said, I'm not well-versed in the subject of the Civ games, but I still found this fiction, especially the second chapter, hilarious. I especially enjoy the rules of the council, as I was smiling the whole time in anticipation for "There is no rule X." The story in general has got me interested in the Civilization game.

The only thing that I'm surprised wasn't in the fiction was a Nuclear Gandhi reference.

Overall, a funny and well written fanfiction, as usual.
Cynthia chapter 2 . 4/21/2015
A year after this story was first published, these two chapters are still as funny and well-written as ever! You combined subtle humor with broad slapstick comedy, excellent character development and dialogue including accents, surprise plot devices (like the exploding can of soda), clever and accurate historical references (like chocolate) and of course, the brilliant madness of Montezuma/Julian. I would love to see more, if you are ever so inclined.
Cynthia chapter 2 . 12/20/2014
I'm so glad you did this second chapter- it is engrossing and hilarious! You did a great job of combining slapstick comedy and highbrow references, as in Justinian's Rubicon being a soda explosion. Excellent description and build-up on that. My favorite section is the 1453 AD Constantinople meeting, since it includes several Monty Python nods and the Spinal Tap reference. You wrote a nice tidy ending to this chapter which is open-ended enough to indicate more will come eventually, as you said. Good!
Jack Storm 448 chapter 2 . 11/20/2014
The worst thing is, I can totally see you doing that with the soda-can; and getting away with it. But I digress.
Anyway, this chapter was just as funny, if not more so than the first; a good impression for the first civilization fanfic I've ever read. In any event, I look forward to seeing what you're going to write next.
Jack Storm 448 chapter 1 . 11/20/2014
Well, I certainly thought this it was funny; although I have to admit, I probably wouldn't have read it if my curiosity hadn't gotten the best of me. However, I am once again glad that I did; considering your track record, I honestly don't know why I thought this wouldn't be interesting. In any event, I am now ready to read the new chapter you posted.
Cynthia chapter 1 . 7/31/2014
I just caught the Julian reference- LOL!
Drage-Ryuu-chan chapter 1 . 7/30/2014
I think I've died a little from too much laughing xD Your portrayal of Montezuma was basically exactly what happened to me, and the denunciation wave was too funny... the only thing missing was someone asking for a loan, then demanding ridiculous trades (after promising 'I'll return the favor later!')
Inbred Iguana chapter 1 . 7/23/2014
Damn. Can you make another chapter?
Cynthia chapter 1 . 6/29/2014
This is also one of my favorites- so clever and funny- and reminds me of The Fourth Ideology. Great job!
PkmnMaster Rolf chapter 1 . 6/6/2014
This is certainly an unusual concept, but you pulled it off well. I like it, even with your creative liberties.
