Funny! I love how Sherlock kept referring to the baby as "it" and John just nonchalantly corrects him with a "she".
Mary reaction to the situation was just how I expected. I can see her laughing at Sherlock.
Loved these lines:
Its wrinkled, toothless face scrunches up and its entire bald head turns red. "Are all newborn humans disproportionate and repellent?"

"Sherlock!" Mrs Hudson looks aghast, as if what I've said is somehow untrue.

"Uncle Sherlock thinks you're beautiful, sweetheart," Mary coos.

Hahaha I just love these guys.
Hey do you think you can write one with Mycroft. He's part of the family too. :)

This story is hilarious! It sounds exactly like Sherlock to add pointless biological facts and be disgusted by John's daughter.

Very funny and very well done characterizing Sherlock! The only thing I wondered about was his caring about his clothes being ruined - he bleeds on them plenty without seeming to mind, and if his body is merely transport I don't see him fussing so much over clothes.

Yes, newborns are basically gross and terrible, but I love Sherlock's "certain warmth," despite his inability to process anything but his own experience. And for crying out loud, his shirt. They don't even make that color silk anymore!

A sweet and funny story. Brava.

The best line was Sherlock figuring out exactly what he was in the situation. No spoilers, but they looked like a family and he was . . . That was perfect!
