doctorjay chapter 1 . 3/15/2017
Oh my. "...lucid by Christmas." Worth reading the whole story just for that priceless line from Mycroft. Love stories like this, where those two brainy brothers do their anti bromance dance.
pinksugarrush chapter 1 . 1/14/2016
I enjoyed it!

Think it's adorable that Mycroft is sitting next to Sherlock's side.

Keep up the great work! :)
Captain Evermind chapter 1 . 3/3/2015
Aw... this is lovely. I swear, these two have the most gorgeous sibling relationship in all of television! Great characterisation. :-)
VioletErin.26 chapter 1 . 1/3/2015

Read it a second time, still love it!
Heather Snow chapter 1 . 11/12/2014
Interesting story! I really wish HLV had included a scene with Sherlock & Mycroft while Sherlock was in hospital.
Lili chapter 1 . 10/5/2014
Nice!
nimagine chapter 1 . 8/27/2014
A lovely piece with both humor and gravity. You don't ate the drugged!Sherlock to the extreme, but you use it well. The 'heartfelt confession' thing was within the realms of believability for them, after seeing some of the exchanges on s3. I enjoyed this very much. Good job!
HappinessIsaWarmSociopath chapter 1 . 8/4/2014
This is an emotional roller coaster in less than 3,000 words. How the hell do you do it? There's plenty of funny stuff at the beginning; morphine-addled Sherlock fantasizing about Mycroft making a fool of himself in football and speculating about drugging fish (I laughed), but it was impossible to really enjoy it because there's this somber undercurrent created by the premise that doesn't go away. Below the banter, there's no ignoring the fact that Sherlock died and Mycroft was frightened, which is really about as intense as you can (realistically) get with a near-psychopath and his self-proclaimed sociopath baby brother. And man, you tapped into that in the second half with Sherlock's drug-induced frankness and showing Mycroft unable to contain his feelings for once. It was more devastating seeing a consistently amused Sherlock being so open and not even seeing it as a big deal, especially because sober Sherlock finds emotional vulnerability more terrifying than a bullet in his gut. And Mycroft's own confession of a sort was tragic as well, since it's pretty clear in the show canon that the Holmes brothers would never reach a conversation this honest without the near-death and Sherlock on drugs. Ironic, considering his cocaine abuse.

In other notes:

"Because I was lonely and miserable and cigarettes were the only way to make my brain brain shut up for five seconds. You?"

You fucking killed me with that line. It's devastatingly casual. Sherlock's blasé attitude packed more emotional impact than a tearful exclamation of distress ever could. Also, yay for Sherlock and his metaphors. He's ridiculously a-dorkable.

Not many people can write well in present tense without it being awkward and overly action-y, but you pull it off perfectly, so good job there. Cheers, and apologies for typos/redundancies.
Arpho chapter 1 . 8/4/2014
I loved this fic sooo much. You write Mycroft very well. Drugged Sherlock, too.

Kind of ironic that Mycroft's afraid of blood, seeing as he's an ex-agent and the most dangerous man John has ever met. I like it.
guest chapter 1 . 8/1/2014
i really enjoyed this story. It was an interesting interaction between the two. It makes me wknder- kt sojnd lkk Mycroft had tried cocaine if he had tried cigarettes, if Sherlock is the reason for that experiment. Makes md wknder if Mycroft ever got off his face regularly on cocaine. I can't see him shootkng up.
Slightlyobsessed22 chapter 1 . 7/31/2014
So Sherlock is why Mycroft smokes. It makes perfect sense. Once again you have done an amazing job. :)
Doni chapter 1 . 7/30/2014
I would have loved for this conversation to take place. Mycroft is tripped up by Sherlock's honesty, and both are refreshing.
SnapeAddict74 chapter 1 . 7/30/2014
I love the perspective you take on their relationship. I only came to your stories in the last 24 hours but have devoured them. Thanks!
ResidentBunburyist chapter 1 . 7/30/2014
you always manage to capture the brothers' relationship better than anyone else I've read. I love how the two of them are always so set in their routine of snark and emotional deflection that Mycroft gets terribly wrongfooted by Sherlock being drugged up and honest... (I mean, once Sherlock's back to normal, his only answer to Mycroft saying something genuine for once is a sputtering 'what the hell do I say to that?' These two are just... so ridiculous. All of the time. I love them.)
