I liked this, it was good to go back to season one where Merlin and Arthur were still getting the measure of each other.

It's an issue that needs discussing - much was made of Merlin's dislike of hunting and the taking of life but during skirmishes with bandits - it was kind of ok?

Your right, Merlin's character would value life, preserve it when possible but take it when necessary.
A very well written and thought provoking piece!

Hello! I really like how you picture Arthur in this and some of the things Merlin says have great power in them. What got me to read it though was the originality of the setting. There's lots of fics with fights and deaths but they are rarely told from this point of view.

Merlin is always full of srprise :D
