PappyOldGuy chapter 1 . 7/2
Intriguing and (well enough written in my opinion) a very good story. I like it, I like it a lot! It seems to be meshing the realities quite well, and I can hardly wait (but I will) to see where it all goes. I do know this, when someone who is not the creator of a character, writes about them, it is to have them do something that the creator doesn't want to or didn't think of. I know that I always think of my favorite characters doing things, I have never read of in books or seen them doing in movies. I think it is fantastic that others (here in "FanFiction") are actually writing their stories of what they want them to do in a "What If" world. For those who complain that the characters would not do this or that, forget them. You need to write this first for yourself, and then for the rest of us who do enjoy your take on what just might, could, should, would and probability (if a frog had wings, his ass wouldn't bump the ground nearly so often) can happen. I do know this as well, I am enjoying it and will follow it as long as you will write it. Also, do NOT feel pushed to post, sometimes the words and thoughts just flow and sometimes you have to cogitate for a bit. Just learn to let them grow at their own pace and those of us who appreciate them will be here to read them when they are posted.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Still a great story, that left me wanting more.
doraemax chapter 1 . 10/23/2019
so, the question now becomes...where did Silver came from?

also, can Silver bullshit the Treecats? hehe

Loving this. Thank you
Netchka chapter 1 . 10/2/2018
Interesting storyline. It seems to be a 'What could happen if the Navy got rid of Honor?' Bad things happen.
NhaTrang chapter 1 . 7/21/2018
Well, there are 199 favs, heaven knows why, but I sure won't be #200. As the reviewers who aren't in the "OMGHHfanficYAAY!" camp accurately state, this person you stick Honor's name onto shows very little signs of HH's personality. I don't think I got more than a quarter into this before giving up in disgust.

I own several Honor Harrington books and found your story comparable. I know that many authors write and sell novels from other series; Star Trek instantly comes to mind.

I know you have branched out to writing commercial novels. I just thought I'd let you know now that, if you write a sequel based on this story I will buy it ... even if it included this story, or an expanded version of this story, as the beginning.

A brilliant change to canon events. A well written and engrossing story. Thank you.

Fascinating.
bearblue chapter 1 . 12/28/2017
I am of mixed emotions. It's a fantastic AU, has a great feel to it, but the loss of the Queen as a friend was terrible, as was the events on Grayson - considering they were also battling a rather terrible enemy. The whole fiasco with the Navy felt... well... just about how it would go without the "right" things happening - given Weber's storytelling. While Silver was incredibly powerful and has frightening implications, it wasn't overused to solve all problems. So it blended into the story just right. Honor Harrington flourished, as she does, and it was a great story to read.

Thank you for sharing it.

Excellent!
Robert Harrison chapter 1 . 10/26/2017
I actually read this a couple days ago, I needed some time to think about it and decide how I felt. I came away rather conflicted, initially.

The story is quite well put together and flows in a logical way from one situation to another. I enjoyed the fact that you took the time to detail just how canon events from from the first two books would have gone differently without Honor's involvement.

Just how HMS Trenchant come to be on Moss Green is a little iffy but (insert gallic shrug) not much can be done about that. Maybe they passed through the junction at the precise instant and proper heading that a gamma ray burst from a super nova had some weird and unexpected interaction on a quantum level with the hyper bridge... I don't know... I was happy with the lack of description, but some astronomical jargon and near-nonsense words may have made it better.

I think the biggest issue I have with the story overall is the last portion. While the political stuff at the end of the story felt very Weber-esque to me, it's also my major sticking point with the canon Honorverse at this point and what I feel is dragging the books down in the latter portions of the series.

Bottom line, the story is quite enjoyable and I'd probably read it again but just skip the whole polisci lesson near the end.
Difdi chapter 1 . 10/25/2017
You have a technical error in the bit about planetary shield gate sizes. Warships are TINY next to merchant ships. You could fit half a dozen super dreadnaughts in the volume of the average bulk freighter, and there are larger freighters than that.

Saying the gates are too small for warships but allow merchant ships through makes no sense at all.
Guest chapter 1 . 10/1/2017
This is just trenchantly stupid and poorly written. You may have read the Weber novels, but none of it obviously sunk in. Please find another hobby, perhaps collecting lint would be to your capabilities.
Nytefyre chapter 1 . 8/28/2017
Interesting.. especially the ending. I've never read the Honor Harrington books, but think I will now.
Timbo chapter 1 . 7/7/2017
I had to stop reading this early on due to sheer implausibility, even before getting to the supposed alien tech promised in the tag line. There's no way anyone would have survived the ship crash landing on the planet as it wasn't designed in any possible way to 'land'. Also if Honor is the XO how would she not know members of the crew, if at least by name if not face? And they'd certainly know her! I agree with another reviewer, the only thing Honor Harrington about this is the character name.
