A lovely commentary on Adrien's flaws and an attempt to address them. I can understand why canon doesn't — you can't have a character become too perfect — but Adrien actually seems to have gone backwards and that's not ideal.

I'm surprised Master Fu went with a politician for his example and not Adrien's own experiences. Lila openly harassed him, Chloe also had no respect for his boundaries and like Cat Noir towards Ladybug that's Chloe legitimately believing what she's doing is OK (though in that case there's also Adrien's inability to establish boundaries), and of course there's Marinette's stalking behaviours though I don't know how many of those Adrien's aware of. The only healthy female relationship in his life at this point is with Kagami but she's not around often enough to help Adrien with his issues, and the boys in his life? Forget it.

And I absolutely agree that he will take advice when it's properly offered and explained, he only doubles down on being an idiot because nobody ever thinks to explain why his behaviour is idiotic.

(Also, I'm thinking that Alec is Hawkmoth's favourite person at the end of this — between Chloe trying to be nice and Lila's position being weakened the odious presenter is the only routine akumatiser left.)

Good story, and hope cannon Adrien gets his life lessons from somewhere other than the school of hard knocks, too.

Now this is the Master Fu I wish we saw more of in canon! Too often it seems like he leaves things to Marinette and Adrien to figure out, only there to provide another miraculous when the situation demands it.

Good to see Adrien taking more action too. He means well, but this story draws attention to the flaws in his logic. And here Chloe actually has something to lost if she doesn't change, something she dearly cares about. Sometimes that's what it takes to get through to people.

Listen, I will pay you ALL the money ever to stage a coup on Zag and take over writing Adrien, plagg, and Fu. Loved the fic and that that Adrien gets the character development he deserves! (Writers like you are the only ones keeping Adrien an enjoyable character, so bless!)

OK not gonna lie, a few things in this story rubbed me the wrong way.
Cat Noir's flirting isn't anywhere near sexual harassment, seeing as we don't see Ladybug ever truly repulsed by it. We also can't ignore that she flirts right back with him on several occasions. It seems like it's become more of a game between them really.

You also painted the picture of a saintly and perfect Marinette whose only flaw is being too hard on herself for the failings of others. If Adrien is flawed, then she must be too, right? I can see her having problems with envy, anger, and impulsiveness at least.

I'm well aware that this is your perspective and you're presenting it through this work of fiction, and that's totally fair. I'm just letting you know my takeaway from reading it. You've got some good material, I look forward to seeing where you go with the other stories on your page.

I'm glad you brought these issues up (both here and your other one shots). There have defiantly been times when watching the show that I don't agree with the lesson the creators are trying to give. I swear they alternate between telling Ladybug to be strong, ...and to be a doormat and not stand up for herself if it makes any waves.

Finally a responsible adult giving Adrien good advice. I have to point that most of Adrien's passive attitude was instilled by his father as part of having a perfect attitude.

The only thing I didn't like was comparing Chat's harmless flirting with actual sexual harassment, they practically ignored that Adrien is the one who is actually sexually harassed with Chloe and Lila sticking to him and kissing without his consent. And better not talk what Marinette did in the name of love...

this is a very good story, with an excellent point (take note, Thomas Astruc!) loved it!

This is the sort of plot Adrien deserves to have instead of every irritating disrespectful and spineless moment he appears to suffer throughout season 3. Thank you so much for doing Adrien's character some justice.

I loved this so much, I wish Fu would do this! For both Ladybug and Chat noir. Adrien needs an actual adult to guide him. Like seriously that boy has a bad hand already. And Marinette could benefit from an actual superhero mentor who actually HELPS instead of just handing our heroes.
I would love to see Plagg and Marinette together more, they seem like they would get along swimmingly. And tiki would be such a change of pace for Adrien. It would be sugar overload! Great work!
