| sonder this chapter 1 . 4/26/2015 I am... amazed. First thing is, I have never had much interest in reading a story that focused on Yachiru and the second thing is, I never ever had the thought that I would even -think- about Yachiru being with somebody romantically, much less Byakuya of all people. But when I saw this pairing, I just had to try it because one of my cardinal rules for reading is being open to all kinds of experiences, especially if the writer can write. And you definitely can write. While it was not a solid transition, for this kind of length, the transition was believable enough. You took snippets of Byakuya's history and made it so that I am convinced that this -could- be possible in a sorta topsy-turvy world. Love really is a taboo for him after the chapter that was Hisana. And as for the mention of Yoruichi, I just had to crack a smile at that because for all of his stoic appearances now, that woman will always be a needle (or a knife... maybe something bigger?) in his side whether he's 15 years old or several centuries old. |

It was funny, to be sure, but it also hinted on more mature themes, which was a nice change of pace compared to other Yachiru stories. I looked up the translation of the title, and I also thought that it was a nice touch: Do not forget. I loved how you put some thought into it! (This has gotten me into shipping older!Yachiru / Byakuya, which can only lead to trouble...) XD |
