Oh I absolutely loved this! Your prose were beautiful and heart-wrenching and everything in between. It's funny that I tumbled across this now, because with BOTW and how Zelda unlocked her powers, I was contemplating writing about how an acceptance of love for the hero, even prior to meeting him, might be the key to unlocking her powers every lifetime. This would mean, as you've written here, that Zelda remembers all her reincarnations. But honestly, you did this so well - I don't think I could compete. I'm always torn between wanting a Zelink happy vs. tragic ending. You gave a bit of both in this, and in such an amazing way!

Is it weird to review an 8 year old story? I can't help myself though, this is amazing. At first I thought it was going to be a downward spiral into angst and despair, but then Sheik! And the transition to Tetra! It was a breath of fresh air-bittersweet and full of hope. It seems like Zelda has reached a place of acceptance, where she can just be. And I love how you circled back around to the legend at the end.

Altogether, a beautiful study of Zelda's character, with some really interesting lore bits too!

Well, I don't see why she wouldn't use her intimate knowledge of Link to get back together with him in each lifetime as soon as possible. There isn't really a reason for her not to. Plus, he deserves it. Isn't she proud of him, though? Here is a man who has proven countless times, perhaps literally, that if put in such situations over and over again, he never fails to be the hero of his own free will. What a guy, right? Hell, several times he did it while a mere child. Like in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask he was like ten or eleven, right? Even as adult link in OoT he was still mentally and emotionally ten, yet look at all the shit he pulled through and the asses he kicked.
