Author has written 65 stories for Naruto, The Thing, Halo, Overwatch, Star Wars, Mass Effect, Dead Space, Justice League, and Friday the 13th: The Game. I joined since I love writing fanfics. Been writing for years, even before I joined. The ones from before I joined are not good enough to be posted here and the ones from 2012 and before are not quite good enough either, the vultures circling around looking for bad fanfics will surely swoop down and have a feast! As a writer striving to improve, I greatly appreciate constructive criticism, even if it is harsh as long as it is constructive. The following is what I need help with most- Description- I used to not describe a long time ago but I got flamed and bashed on a level that one would expect if someone trivialized stuff. So now I describe. But sometimes I worry I over-describe out of fear of not describing enough. Since if one over-describes, it can slow down the story. This is a major trouble spot, along with dialogue, would greatly appreciate any constructive criticism regarding description. Dialogue- due to being completely deaf, I have to use a cochlear implant to hear and it fluctuates in quality, which means I can’t read my dialogue out loud like many hearing people can. Since the fluctuations would affect how I hear dialogue, could make good dialogue sound bad and vice versa. To overcome this, I read it out loud in my head. In addition, sometimes I have struggles with self-confidence regarding dialogue. Like with description, would greatly appreciate any constructive criticism regarding dialogue. Pacing- sometimes I am not sure if the pacing is too fast or too slow. Keeping canon characters in-character- sometimes I worry (and sometimes worry too much and overthink) too much on trying to keep characters in-character. I have had bad past experiences with people being, like with the description, so hateful even though I never had them do horrible things they wouldn’t do. Making sure things make sense- this goes in hand with the above stuff in general. I sometimes end up overthinking it when it comes to trying new things and it ends up bringing things to a halt. But the only way to improve is through trial and error, since trying out new things does come with risks but the reward can be great. My top six favorite series- 1. Mass Effect 2. Naruto 3. Halo 4.
