It is sad, you never continue this story...

You have a technical error in this chapter - there's no reason why someone would need to get at internal controls to disarm a nuke. Conventional chemical explosives are often dangerous to handle roughly because they're unstable and can explode when you don't want them to. But nukes are the opposite - it's actually pretty hard to make a nuke detonate properly. Even the tiniest part of it being misaligned or miscalibrated can make the whole thing fizzle or fail to go off at all.

A nuke is delicate like a computer is delicate. You can disarm a nuke with a sledgehammer or by shooting it.

Just read the fic and was bummed to see that it was last updated 7 years ago.

50,000 yen is about $500 US. Back in '87 it would have been worth even more. That's a hell of a lot of cash for someone like Ranma to carry.

I liked the chapter!

I gotta say, this was more enjoyable than I thought it would be based on the description. Characters are well constructed as is the plot. I'm a bit iffy on how easily Ranma is accepted into the Specters, likewise how Ranma doesn't seem to put a bit more thought into all the questions adding up around her existence, but the overall plot flows well regardless. It's worth a shrug at best and at seven years down range, I doubt you care too much ;)

Overall, a very good read.

Question.(That you're unlikely to answer, but I'll ask it ennyways.
For future Ki abilities, are you planning on pulling from:
Ranma Half: Source material.
Dragonball Z: To make him(Future her?) and their students a credible threat to space-going warships.
And Naruto: Which I've felt might be usable as an Advanced understanding of Ki and how to use it.

I know you've probably put this story aside, but don't worry about Ranma physically overpowering everything in a fist fight.

First off, as you said, Ranma versus Dreadnaught, no contest. Superpowered infantry is still only infantry.
...At least for now. Let the Salarians at Ki for a while and that may change. But probably only to 'Mostly harmless.' Still a huge jump, but only 'Mostly harmless.'

Secondly, while Ranma may be able to physically overpower most or all ground opponents right now, wait a decade or two for so he can teach what he knows...
With the Salarians again as an example, Ki users like Ranma can live hundreds of years. The Salarians will be all over that.

Hell, everybody should be all over that.

And imagine a Krogan who was a Ki master. They'll likely regain their top position in physicality within the next few centuries.
Heh. Might even trample over the genophage afflicting them at present.

So don't worry about Super Infantry. At least, not until they start imitating the cast of Dragonball Z.
