The interactions between the characters, both minor and major, were well written.
Booster's constant urge to be in a position to get his name out there and become famous is evident at the beginning, but is quickly set aside as his shift moves along and he starts focusing on the missions that are occurring below him. Who knows, maybe he's found his niche (whether he'll admit it or not) after all.
Any story, either a one-shot or a multi-chapter, that provides a glimpse of the 'every day' activities of some of our favorite canons has always been a favorite of mine.

I utterly enjoyed the sense of humour, from the Batman jaw digs to Superman's deadpan announcement of being useless because of kryptonite exposure (ha I loved that 'calling in sick' line). It's priceless!

I think you characterised Booster rather well, it's definitely in keeping with what I have seen of him in both JLU and the original comics! It's easy to forget that despite his goofy glory-seeking image, he was pretty competent in his own way.

I really like your use of Casual Danger Dialogue to narrate the different crises going on at the various heroes' locations. Aside from being absurdly funny and entertaining, it kept the pacing brisk and no part felt like it dragged which would have been the case if you had opted for scene jumps everywhere. BTW, nice touch with the reference by Vigilante on the Batman Beyond episode with the purple mind-control starfish. I remember this one, though thinking about how that would fit into the timelines make me dizzy...

Overall I don't have much to criticise about this one-shot. I thought it was very well done and your use of humour and dialogue is sublime. The only part that seemed off was the ending. I get what you were aiming for, but something seemed to be missing in the structure and delivery and it wasn't as strong an ending as expected for such a strong story. (On a personal note, I think ending the story at the sarcastic 'don't you, cowboy?' part works better without Vigilante's response afterwards)

Anyway hope this came in handy, and thanks again for such an enjoyable story!

Love this story! So delightful to see a 'behind the scenes' idea-and one carried off with humor and a real feel. Grin, moniter duty is like flight control for superheroes-not for the faint of heart! Awesome work!

I really like how you wrote about someone having the monitor duty. Too often do people forget how important it is for someone to monitor situations and coordinate people and delegate tasks. Plus the humor was awesome. And I love the actual intelligence and information that you have here. Especially with Booster Gold, even if he is not one of my favorite characters. And in the end with Vigilante talking about the purple starfish sounds like the enemy from Batman Beyond when it took control of Superman and then the rest of the league. Kind of cool that you mentioned it.

Good story. It was a bit jarring to see Booster analyzing the more complex problems and making strategic decisions, but that is something one would expect to learn how to do in the training sessions along with the technical details. I don't think strategic planning got enough focus, though. I'm very sorry to begin my review on such a negative tone, because everything else was great. I loved Booster trying to handle the various requests, and I loved the beginning, clearing the air about the crowd control situation and pointing out what how Booster was justified and what he did wrong.

I really enjoyed this fic. The setup was well executed and totally believable (assming you had already suspended your DISbelief and could accept the ida of a team of superheroes deending the earth ;). The pacing was hectic and fast and did an excellent job of putting memore in Boosters mindset as he ried to not fail miserably.

I really enjoyed this piece! Poor Booster, the kid must've been feeling so lost. I love the cameos that you managed to get in there- great portrayal of some of the lesser-known/seen characters. And you got in Doctor Light! :D

What, that was way too fun! I've got to give you props for coming up with the emergencies, they were pretty fun and funny and the way that Booster dealt with them (with the help of Skeets, of course) was really well depicted - you definitely built up the hilarious tension that our poor hero was feeling.

And oh man, my favorite part of the story for some reason was Nemesis, even though he was only one of the multitudes of heroes that poor Booster encountered that night. I definitely laughed out loud with each passing request. Hilarious! Thanks for a good read :)

Wow! That was pretty darn good! I think you nailed it on both parts. First what monitoring duty mus tbe like and Booster's character (at least from the TV series).
