I really enjoy this story, and from now forward my headcanon is that a secret version of this happened.

No matter how many times I read this story, I always start the 'Vimes section' confident I know which man is which, and then by the grey hair comment, laughing hysterically at myself because I feel that I must have missed a detail and how did they do it...

And then I get to the end and sometimes, I manage to puzzle out who is who and can laugh again at falling for their tricks. It's something I very much want to watch, although preferably from a very safe distance.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity, and for featuring such an underloved character like Charlie.

Yay! Charlie and Havelock!

I never really thought about Charlie but this made me very happy.

Wonderful! I just finished 'The Truth' for the second time and I loved this update. Charlie will be remembered as the only person in Discworld history to address the Patrician as "mate" and continue to breathe.

I really enjoyed this one. Any time Vetinari seems out of character to me in the books from now on, I'm going to assume it's Charlie.

First up I have to say: Vetinari impersonating Charlie is just a *genius* idea which deserves 10/10 on its own, because it's just the sort of thing he *would* do. That said, this is a lovely little piece, well-written and amusing without being farcical. I thought Vetinari was a *touch* informal with Charlie in the meeting just before Vimes came in, but nothing too OOC, and perhaps Charlie is someone he can be more informal with. And they totally would tease Vimes as well, teehee :)

Lastly, speaking as a biologist, kudos for correct usage of Batesian mimicry...in the case of Charlie imitating Vetinari, anyway ;)
