Reviews for I Shut My Eyes
Frakking Toasters chapter 1 . 1/10/2014
This ripped my heart out in the best of ways. And just like everything else in this series, it's perfect. I honestly can't fully express how much I love it lol! xo
SPN Mum chapter 1 . 7/11/2013
Don't know how I missed this! O.o

It's so sad that sam looks in a mirror and doesn't see himself anymore. I wonder how long it will take him? If Sam could only see himself through Dean's loving eyes. They still have a long way to go, but I have no doubt they can get there, as long as it's together.
ccase13 chapter 1 . 10/24/2012
Poor boys are so beat up in this one. It's really sad for Sam to have lost his beloved hair. Only little boys who's father fought them can love their hair so much when they are grown.
kattafre6611 chapter 1 . 10/19/2012
It, of course, hurt to read this; but I think you're not entirely right with what you said in your A/N. Sam still IS in a quite bad place, but it wasn't to expect otherwise after just a month. Still, there IS comfort to find in here, beause he has his 'comfort thing' (you totally got me with this!) around 24/7, and that's why he found already enough strength to let him go for a while, tearing enough comfort out of the knowledge that he's coming back to him. That's what I read into it at least, and I'm glad about it, because I really needed this little comfort myself after reading.
Again: brilliant!
Killingdanse chapter 1 . 9/23/2012
Excellent series but then again most of your stories are great. Needs to continue though... Sammy just can't get stuck like that.
AlElizabeth chapter 1 . 8/26/2012
Oh Sam. Always thinking about others rather than himself. Poor guy. This is so difficult for the both of them. Good fic. Nice that it was in Sam's POV. Keep up the fantastic work!
Batboys of Baker Street chapter 1 . 8/22/2012
*chokes*

Gah. This was easier to read than the last one but still so freakin' painful. :'(

Especially the cutting of Sam's hair. I don't think I mentioned this in my previous reviews, but I have this very strange emotional attatchment to his hair and when Gordon started sheering off clumps of it, that was when I *really* lost it. That was the first break in the dam.

And this... well it just made me think about that and start getting all sad and teary again. Sam reliving the memories, hating that he doesn't feel like SAM anymore. (And I hate to think he might never feel like Sam again, but after what happened, he probably won't ever feel quite like himself). Dean trying to help and just being at a loss.

It was so... heartbreaking. I just want to hug them and lie and say it's alright. It's not alright, but I want it to be, you know?

Anyway, this was really wonderful and although it was sad, it was still brilliantly written and stayed true to the characters as usual.

MORE PLEASE!
Guest chapter 1 . 7/17/2012
Enjoyed all three parts of this story. It's so well written (as usual) and love the "comfort thing" comment. Their relationship is my favourite part of the show and your stories always feature that!
A Mind Decayed chapter 1 . 7/16/2012
Okay, all three read! I must say that they are all very well written and I absolutely loved reading them. I had to keep wiping tears from my eyes as I did. It would be completely up to you, of course, but I think that a few more stories could come from this arc...I know I would certainly enjoy more of them!
skag trendy chapter 1 . 7/10/2012
Mmmwwwaaaahhhh... poor boys. Sam's so broken and Dean doesn't know how to fix him.
Please continue, perhaps with a tiny light at the end of the tunnel? I know it's too soon but this is sooo heartbreaking.

Great job, hon.

Kind regards,

SecondStarToTheRight18 chapter 1 . 7/9/2012
Very well written as usual. Yes, it's sad and not very comforting... but Sam's hurting right now, so of course it's sad. You write the emotions so, so, SO well. Beautiful job, dear!
CeCe Away chapter 1 . 7/8/2012
*and watches his comfort thing walk out the door.* ah, my heart. God, you are good. There isn't much more to say.
BranchSuper chapter 1 . 7/8/2012
Of course having his hair cut would be very traumatic for Sam after Gordon had done his hack job on it as a part of his torture, even with Dean doing his best to keep it gentle. He's right: Dean is Sam's comfort. Good story.
ziggy.uk chapter 1 . 7/8/2012
It made my Sunday with an alert in my inbox for another story from you :) This was awesome, you had perfectly just how traumatised Sam was by having his haircut, even to not noticing he had been silently crying. And you showed too how much actually cutting his brother's hair affected Dean, knowing what Sam had been through and trying to make the process as painless as possible, but there was no way he could succeed in that with each snip bringing back another memory. OMG the ending absolutely got me, first Sam noticing Dean's jacket is his comfort thing and then - "No, I'm fine," as convincingly as he can, and watches his comfort thing walk out the door.
You write with such knowledge, depth and sensitivity that even your stories where the material is traumatic and sensitive and hard hitting are a joy to read.
This was just brilliant could feel both boys emotions so clearly as I read.
