A New Start Keeperoliver Chapter Twenty-Five And So It Ends

Draco still never got the answer to his question. It wasn't that he really needed an answer, but more like there was so much more that could have been done if they had brought more people. With out knowing how many they fought, it made it difficult to figure out what it would take to help. Maybe they did bring enough, but what harm would there have been to take two more with them. Of course he wished to be a part of the two. Not that he wished to be honored as a hero, but to show Harry that he had indeed changed from the life his father brought him up to believe in. He was not a bigot or a snob like Crabbe and Goyle. He was down to earth and respectful. He also liked Harry's sister very much and to help would have been a huge plus for him with Harry. He didn't realize how much help he had been.

Ginny finally got her wish as she was seeing more of Harry now that it was over. They seemed to spend all their waking time together. Harry didn't take anything for granted with her and treated her not like a lady, but like a girl. He didn't always hold the door open for her, but he did this on occasion. He didn't always let her enter a room first, but he did it on occasion. He would ask her if she wanted something to drink, but only if he wanted something as well. Ginny felt it was a perfect balance of Harry being a gentleman and boy. It was for Ginny like being treated as a Lady and a girl. Harry was not smothering her with affection, but giving her enough to know if she liked it or not. She did like it at times, but not constantly.

Hermione and Fred were the most farthest along with their relationship. Fred and her were found all the time holding hands, and at times with Fred stealing a kiss from her. They kept this to a minimum but not the hugging which they did quite frequently. Fred felt like he was lucky in the ways of love. Hermione kept him under control for the most part, but did not stop him completely from pulling his pranks. George was glad she did this as Alicia was like Hermione in the control factor. Not complete control, but enough to keep him out of trouble.

Being on the same team in Quidditch helped with George and Alicia's relationship as they saw more of each other than Fred and Hermione, but it also put a strain on their relationship as they had little time alone with each other. They tried several times to be together during practice, but Oliver knew all their hiding places and soon found them and brought them back to the pitch for practice. It didn't hurt their relationship, but it didn't help it either.

Ron and Lavender were still trying to build on theirs, but Ron still had issues of being unsure of himself. Lavender tried to get him out of this, but she wasn't quite strong enough for them both. Ron's problem was the Weasley family being poor in wealth. He felt ashamed of not being able to buy things for Lavender even though she told him time and time again that she didn't need material things in life. All she needed was a strong man at her side and the willingness of the man to do his best to keep her happy. Ron always took this as his needing money to do it. He would eventually get it in his head that Lavender was quite happy with him the way he was and not the way he thought he should be.

Sirius got his strength back and was now looking at finding a woman he could settle down with and have a family of his own, like Remus had with Selena. He was happy that Remus was able to find the right woman for him and that they got along together so well. Even with his problem, they lived a happy life and Selena gave him the best gift he ever received when she told him she was pregnant. It scared Remus at first, thinking the child may be born with his affliction, but when Poppy told him that the chances of the child being born a werewolf was greater than him hitting the lottery. The child would have the genes of the werewolf, but to actually turn into one was quite slim. Yes, the genes would stay in the family, but in each generation, they would become weaker.

Sirius himself found that Amelia Bones was always interested in him and soon got the courage to ask her out, to which she said yes. He had yet to set a date for their first date, but it was still too soon after the battle and there were many changes taking place in the Ministry, to include a search for a new Minister of Magic. Fudge was asked to step down from the post along with his Vice Minister. Alastor was asked to take the post, but now that was not going to happen. The next in line was Amelia herself, but she did not want the post. She did put in her request for the right person. If it was accepted, then the new Minister of Magic would be Arthur Weasley and his vice would be Amelia. She would take on the dual role of Head of the MLE and Vice Minister of Magic. It would not be that much of an extra burden as she already had a second in command ready to take over as head in Kingsley Shacklebolt.

Kingsley rose through the ranks of Auror to the MLE to Amelia's assistant quickly. He was from Jamaica, but moved to England at a young age with his family. When they moved back to Kingston, he decided to stay in England. He put himself through school and played sports at University level. He stayed fit through training and hard work. He met his wife at Uni, and they married at an early age. They had no children as yet, but it was planned this way as his wife had a career in modeling. Kingsley was able to bank his wages and they lived comfortably on what she made in modeling.

Arthur and Molly still had a house full of kids like they always wanted. Molly hated an empty house. She made sure that if Arthur took this new position that it would not go to his head, and that they continued to live like they had before he took the post. This way if anything happened and it didn't work out, nothing would change. She said that for the next forty years Arthur held the post until he retired. She didn't know he would keep the post that long, and three time he was ready to retire when the Ministry talked him into staying. During his tenure, the Magical World thrived under his direction. The Auror division tripled in number and the MLE Doubled. Kingsley asked for and received a new assistant in Nymphadora Weasley, nee Tonks. She still went by the name Tonks, except to Charlie who called her Sweetheart and nothing else. She gave up teaching at Hogwarts when Charlie asked her to marry him a year after the battle.

Bill met a french girl during Harry's fourth year when they had a Tri Wizard Tournament. She was one of the chosen participants and Harry and Ginny asked him to visit since he was home for the holidays. He agreed to attend the Yule Ball and met Fleur DeLecouer. They continued to see each other after she left Beauxbaton and when He was offered a job in the main branch of the bank, he took Fleur with him and they married soon after that.

Percy went into his final year with his dream fulfilled as he was made Head boy for his final year. His relationship with Penelope went by the side though, and he left Hogwarts lonely, but soon found a post with the Ministry of Magic thanks to Kingsley. He joined the MLE.

Blaise, Daphne, Tracy and Pansy remained friends with Harry throughout school. Once the battle was over, a big change came over Slytherin House. There was no more superiority felt by them over the other houses. By showing how a half-blood could defeat the most powerful wizard of their generation really carried a lot of weight. It was felt in school as well as in the Ministry. There was a change of leadership in the Wizengamut. It was controlled by the Pure-Bloods, but now it was divided into thirds equally with Half Bloods and Muggleborn taking their place on the panel.

Minerva was given the title of Head Mistress and Filius was chosen as her Vice. He still was head of Ravenclaw though. With Charlie still in school and the Head of Gryffindor House being vacant, Minerva asked him to fill the position and he gladly took it. It would have been Hagrid's had he stayed behind to teach. However, they did not see the last of Hagrid. He came back every year for Christmas time to bring in the school tree to be decorated by the students and Filius. He had Fang with him for the first four visits then on his fifth, he was sorry to say that he lost Fang over the year due to his age. It was at this time he asked the Head Mistress if there was an open position for him in the school.

"I'm sorry Hagrid, but Charlie has taken his title as Care of Magical Creatures very seriously and the students love him. All I have is the DADA position."

"It's alright Professor. It's just with Fang gone, and me not finding any family out there, I was hoping I could get a job with the school again."

"So, you don't want the DADA position I take it?"

"WHAT! Are you offerin me the Defense Position, Professor?"

"I thought that was what I said Hagrid. Did you think I just said it for no reason?"

"Well, ya. I didn't think I was good enough for that job. I mean what qualifications do I have?"

"A very big one Hagrid. You fought beside the other members of the Light in the final battle, which if I remember correctly, we won. Don't you consider that as a qualification?"

"Maybe, but I didn't win the battle, Harry did. And besides, what about Sirius? He was there as well, and he is more famous for his part in the battle."

"I didn't offer him the position Hagrid, I offered it to you. But if you don't want it, I will look elsewhere."

"Do you really want me to take the job Professor?"

"Hagrid, I am not going to beg you to take the post. If you want it, it's yours, if not then I will look elsewhere."

"What happened to Professor Tonks?"

"You know what happened to her, Hagrid. She went back to the Ministry to take up the job of assistant Director of the MLE. She's been gone for two years now. Our last Professor of the DADA was asked to leave because he wasn't able to handle the pressure of the post."

"OH Yeah, forgot about that. So, can I have the job?"

Minerva dropped her head into her hands to cover her laughing. Hagrid always was a favorite of hers even if he was a little slow. But for sheer determination, there were none stronger. That was what Albus saw in him. "Be her on August 18th to start you schedule Hagrid. And welcome back my friend."

Hagrid gained a huge smile on his face that wasn't quite hidden by his beard. He wanted to go around her desk and hug Professor McGonagall, but thought better of it. Instead he said, "Thank You Professor, I be here on time if not a bit early." and Hagrid practically danced out of her office.

Remo also wasn't a stranger after the battle. He visited the school at least once a year. He became a brother figure to Harry and loved the time he spent with him. Chiun wasn't too happy with this because it made it look like He was using Remo to get Harry back into training for an assassin. How he knew when Remo made these visits remained a mystery to Remo as he never told anyone when he made the trip. But, it was like everything else about the Master. No one knew his true power either. He never said anything to Remo about his visits except if he enjoyed himself in school. Remo knew what he meant and would update the Master about Harry and his friends, especially Luna who was the only person in the world that baffled Chiun. It was so bad that he even told Harry that to stay around her would rot his brain. When Harry laughed it off, he knew Harry was not his newest student for long. That was two girls he wished Harry to avoid and he didn't listen to either complaint.

Remo's visits usually lasted two or three days and he was always welcomed as a true hero of the light. Minerva opened the doors to him when ever he was there and Hagrid offered him to share his shack when ever he wanted to partake in a little Meade. He took up the offer and it was the first night of a three night stay. When he left, he took off for another assignment and was gone two weeks. When he finally got back to Chiun, it was as if he had been on a three week binge of drinking as Chiun detected it even after three weeks. It was the only time he took Hagrid up on his offer.

Chiun never did make it back to Hogwarts, knowing it was a lost cause. However it never stopped his dreaming of what he could have made of Harry. He dreamed Harry became the top paid assassin in the world, bringing riches to his impoverished village. Remo was good, and he did bring in much needed funds to them, but it would never equal what Harry would have brought them. Remo could easily take out twenty to thirty men, but Harry could take out a whole army in the same amount of time o even less time. Harry was to Chiun, the complete soldier. Only one was born to the world every ten generations.

Luna looked back on her new life seeing how many people lived that didn't in her past life. Things were so much happier now and everything was as it should be. What was even better was the fact that Harry seemed to lose a substantial amount of his power when Tom died, and it made him seem human. He was having fun with his friends. He was enjoying the time he spent with Ginny and she cherished the time he spent with her. It was a nice feeling Luna had when he saw them walking along the hallways of the school, holding hands and just making idle talk as the moved. How they often stopped to talk to someone in the hall or in a classroom. The school itself was like a home for all that attended. No one was felt left out for any reason.

Luna herself was feeling quite happy with her relationship with Draco. They held hands often and he would even find a small cove and pull her in it to share a kiss with her. That was as far as she would let him go, but that was enough for him as he would never do anything to upset her or Harry. They shared to much together, except for the one thing Draco still wondered about. It didn't bother him too much anymore, but it still was in the back of his mind.

Luna was never able to find the path back to Lady Hogwarts when she left the last time with Draco. It was the Lady's way of saying it was all over and that Luna should move on with her new life. Luna was doing her best to make sure this happened.

Her and Harry stayed close through out their life. No brother and sister were closer than the two even though they were only half brother and sister. Either would give up their life to protect the other and it was proven during the final battle when Harry refused to let any other student join in the battle. If he let even one in, he would have to include Luna in as well, and he was not going to let that happen. She meant everything to him. She was the reason things were the way they were. Her going back in time to save all those she did save was a miracle and Harry didn't like to waste miracles, especially when it was his sister.

Harry saw how Luna made everything possible by taking the chance and going back in time. She could just as easily give up and meet the ones who died in her past in the after life. She didn't want that, she wanted to be with them in life. It took a brave heart and a loving one to give up a sure thing to try for something better though what she tried could have easily met with disaster. If she failed to save Harry from the Dursleys, it would have.

Harry would always be thankful to her for freeing him from the misery of living with those that hated him so much.

He loved Luna so much, he even lied to her to give her a safe feeling. He remembered her asking him if he lost any of his magic. He also remembered how she feared if he didn't, he would become a target of every evil person that came into the world, looking to make a name for himself. Yes he lied to protect himself and her. He was still able to speak to snakes and if anything, he was even stronger now that Tom was dead. It would seem Harry received the magic Tom lost that day he died. But Harry would never show the world just how powerful he was as it would bring unwanted attention to him and his family. No, Harry would just be Harry Potter, student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

A/N: Not much I know, but it is getting harder and harder to end stories any more. I just left it with everyone still in school except for a few exceptions, like Arthur, Amelia and Sirius.

Now it is time to move on to the next story which will be a one part story to set up the the big story. The one part will be called Neon Moon and the follow up will be called Addicted to Love. Naturally they are both song titles and they will both be used in the stories. Addicted will be an "M" rated story for those who care and it will not be a H/G pairing per say. They will be main characters as will Luna, but even Luna will not be totally Harry's. I know it sounds weird and by now you all should be use to that from me.

I look forward to hearing from you all real soon. As always, Ollie the Keeper.
