20 years later
Sarah stood on the balcony of her's and Jareth chambers, watching her husband, the Goblin King, play fight in the gardens with their son, Angus. It had been a lazy morning for the Queen of the Goblins and to wake to the sound of her family playing happily was a joy she sometimes thought was a dream.
In the last twenty years since they had confessed their love for each other, Sarah and Jareth had been through happy times, tough times and days of complete heartache, but Sarah would do it all again just to have Jareth by her side and she knew he felt the same. Turning from the balcony and the happy scene, the female monarch headed back into the heart of her shared chambers and gazed lovingly on the two portraits that hung above the fire place. One was of them after Sarah's coronation as Jareth's Queen and the other was of them as a family, Sarah sat on a chair, Jareth standing behind her with his hand on her shoulder and little three year old Angus sitting on her knee with a beaming smile.
The coming of little Angus had been bittersweet to begin with, as Sarah had had trouble conceiving and the two time she had before falling pregnant with Angus had been agonising. Her very first pregnancy had been destoryed by an old flame from Jareth's past, having announced their good news to the court, the woman had come up to Sarah under the pre-tense of congratuating her, but had instead thrust a lead knife into Sarah's womb instead. It took Sarah a full year to fully heal, even with Lavena's help and another year to start trying again for another baby and Jareth didn't push the issuse or blame her in the least.
The second pregnancy had been keep quiet due to Sarah's understandable fears, but that still didn't stop the poor Goblin Queen from falling down the stairs in the castle, she had simply tripped on her dress and if she hadn't of been near any flights of stairs Sarah would have carried to term. This unexpected heartbreak for the King and Queen was worse as Sarah wouldn't stop blaming herself and slipped into a deep depression, sleeping days away and eating very little. In the end, it was Toby who dragged her out of her bed chamber and into a very cold bath of ice water, to which Sarah had disowned Toby as her brother. Once she had finished with her foul langauge, Toby produced a crystal to show Sarah her husband who was suffering more than he ever let on. Seeing her beloved like that shattered the ice around Sarah's heart and, after apologising to Toby, she ran to Jareth and together they poured the grief in their hearts out and healed slowly.
Since then Sarah and Jareth agreed to be cautious when planning for a family and when Sarah fell pregnant with Angus, they both were over the moon and ever so frightened, however, the pregnancy went very smoothly and Angus was born healthy and strong. He was a handsome boy, with his father's features and his mother's colouring, Sarah was sure he would breakheart when he got older and Jareth was over joyed at having a family of his own, once saying; "Life couldn't be any more wonderful".
Dressing in a simple gown of green, Sarah could heard her son and husband coming towards the chamber door and couldn't help the smile that graced her lips as they came in.
"Mummy," Angus cried happily, "you're awake! Finally!"
"Good morning to you too Angus," Sarah replied, smiling at his shining eyes.
"Good morning, my precious," Jareth said softly before kissing her lovingly.
"Good morning, beloved," Sarah replied, returning the kiss.
"Why have you been so lazy latey Mummy?" Angus asked, ignoring his parents kissing. "You've been sleeping lots and it's boring!"
"Angus, watch your manners," Jareth said sternly. "If your mother needs rest, then there must be a reason."
"And there is," Sarah said happily and both father and son looked at her expectantly. "Angus the reason I've been sleeping so much is because you are going to be a big brother." Jareth's mouth fell open and Angus ran round the room shouting the news before escaping out the bedroom door, spreading the joyful news. Neither the Queen or King stopped him.
"I'm going to be a father again?" Jareth asked very softly.
"Yes, my dear husband, you are going to be a father again and again," Sarah answered.
"'Again and again?' I dont understand, my love," he asked, clearly confused.
"It's very simple, beloved, I'm carrying twins."
