To be frank, Spencer Reid was wallowing. He felt completely miserable and wondered why he couldn't seem to get out of this funk. Yes, his caseload was heavy and depressing but he normally just compartmentalized and moved to the next case. Spencer was in uncharted waters, wallowing over a girl. Hermione Granger. Brilliant, witty, kind, understanding, beautiful Hermione. She wasn't just any girl. She was his girl until he went and opened his mouth, called her a liar and told her to leave. That was two weeks ago and he thought he could forget her, but he cant.

Six months into their relationship, Hermione came to Spencer with a worried look on her face. Spencer ran through the short list of mutual acquaintances they shared, hoping no one was hurt. Or dead. Instead, his beautiful girlfriend told him she's a witch. A wand waving, spell casting, potion brewing, witch. Too bad Spencer chose to believe science, research and facts over Hermione's word. Even when she performed magic for him, he couldn't wrap his head around everything that he once knew changing. So he lashed out at her. Oh god, the things he said to her. She must hate him for the things he said when she was being honest with him, hoping they could further their relationship. Now it's gone. And now Spencer is wallowing at his favorite coffee shop near work wondering how he could let his stupidity ruin the best thing thats ever happened to him with his dream girl.

Derek Morgan was worried about Spencer. He knew Reid was dating that gorgeous Brit but he hadn't seen her around in a while and wondered if something happened. He quickly decided to go to that boring coffee shop and check on his friend. Approaching Reid, Derek noticed the dim coffee shop made Reid look even worse.

"Hey man, talk to me, what's going on?" Derek said as he sat down. Spencer looked up shocked that his friend and colleague would enter the coffee shop just to talk to him. Shrugging, Reid took a sip of his drink, hoping Derek would just let him sit in peace.

Trying again, Derek decided to be more specific, "Is this about your girl? We haven't seen her around in a while? Did she go back to England?"

"Wouldn't know," was the only response Derek received. Oh boy, this is not good.

"Seriously man, what the hell happened?"

"I ruined it! She's gone! I have no idea how to contact her and apologize and I ruined the best thing that ever happened to me!" came Spencer's outburst, causing Derek to sit back and sigh.

"C'mon man, tell me the story. Then we'll figure out how to fix this."

"I cant fix this! She came to me and wanted to share something about herself. She trusted me to listen and accept her and I was horrible to her. I yelled at her! I don't yell! And I told her to leave!"

"You obviously will keep her secret but are you sure its as bad as it seems? Did she say anything when she was leaving?"

"She said goodbye. God, I made the girl of my dreams cry! I love her man! I never even told her and now I hurt her, probably will never see her again and she'll never even know how I feel."

Derek felt for his friend, who has very little experience with women, knowing his heart is breaking more and more with each day away from his girl. He decided then and there that he would help Reid find his girl.

"We'll find her man and you can apologize and tell her that you love her."

One Month Later

After drilling Reid for every little detail about Hermione, what felt like endless searching and many weird dead-ends that seemed promising, Derek found Hermione by accident. He was searching a part of Georgetown that kept coming up in his search when he spotted the petite woman with familiar dark curls and focused eyes. Derek watched her go into Starbucks, place her order and set up her laptop at a table in the corner. Derek knew he may not get another shot at finding her and immediately called Reid. Thankfully she was still working when Spencer arrived half an hour later and was so focused she didn't hear Derek wish him luck and approach her table. Spencer knew this was it, the woman he loved was in front of him, looking more beautiful than ever but he could see her sadness.

Taking a deep breath, he knew it was time, "Is this seat available?"

Hermione looked up in shock, immediately recognizing his voice. She looked excited yet nervous to see him before schooling her features to display calm indifference and quietly offered him the seat across from her.

Before Hermione could even ask what was going on, Spencer rushed to get out everything he needed her to know, knowing it would never sound as good as he imagined or practiced but needing to tell her everything.

"I know you must hate me for the way I betrayed your trust and spoke to you and treated you and cast you away. And my god, I hate myself for treating you the way that you never expected because I know you and you deserve people to listen and understand and Im so sorry. You deserve so much better than the way I treated you and Im sorry and Ijustloveyoumuch and I hope you can one day forgive me. That all came out a mess and I wanted to apologize better. Im so sorry, Hermione. I was awful and so wrong and I don't deserve your forgiveness but I hope you will forgive me. The second you walked out the door, I knew I was wrong"

Hermione stared at Spencer with tears and questions in her eyes. "Do you really love me?" she asked self-consciously. "You don't hate me for who I am? What I am?"

"Of course not! I love you and I don't deserve you but yes, I love you so much!"

She locked eyes with Spencer and whispered, "I love you too. I thought you hated me for being a witch. For lying to you."

"I couldn't ever hate you, love. Could you forgive me enough to try again?"

She wiped her eyes, smiled and leaned over to kiss Spencer lightly before pulling back and pulling him into a hug. After moments in the hug, Hermione let go, packed her belongings up and held out her hand for Spencer to grab, exiting the coffee shop together.

Neither noticed Derek still outside until hearing, "Way to go, pretty boy."
