So. This story is officially done. Wow.

This is a story that I still feel bad for staying away from for so long, but looking back on it, my mental health was not the best in 2017, and it kept me from writing anything, and even kept me from liking what I worked on during that time. it's taken me this long to start getting better and get inspired again.

Boy, the inspiration for this story came back like a freight train. My great aunt found my great grandpa's World War Two items, and she gave them to me. I now own a plastic box full of my great grandpa's Army records, magazine articles of cars from the 40's that he had saved, telegrams and letters he sent his wife and brother, and entire photo album of him and his buddies from their time in the Philippines. On top of that just some Detroit newspaper articles my great grandma cut out and saved of what was happening general wise in the Pacific where he was stationed. The plastic box also came with a shadow box that has his dog tags, ribbons, medals, and even his Purple Heart. I may have cried when my great aunt gave me these things and these things made me think of this story again and suddenly I couldn't stop writing it. So, thanks to my Great Grandpa David, this story got finished.

Thank you to anyone who kept reviewing and reading this story while I was taking a break. It made me happy to see that people were still reading and being encouraging for me to finish it. Even when I was updating other stories, every now and then I'd get a message from someone wishing me luck on finishing this story and it was always a nice reminder that people were still out there. And considering how bad my mental health was, it was a nice ray of sunshine to have appear every now and then.

Here are some songs I listened to a lot while writing Edge of the Sea:

Kids Again by Artist Vs Poet

Zombie by Bad Wolves

Drown by Bring Me the Horizon

Forest Fire by Brighton

Paralyzed by NF

Somewhere Only We Know from Postmodern Jukebox

You Matter to Me from Waitress the Musical

My Friends by Oh Wonder

I have a plan to write a sequel to this story in the same vein as my Band of Brothers sequel, where it just follows Nora and Snafu's lives throughout the decades. I really like the idea of seeing how America changes throughout the decades, from the return to traditionalism of the 1950's to how different the 1980's were compared to the 1940's. I'm a history education major whose goal is to eventually become a curator or college professor one day, so this entire concept interests the hell out of me. I kind of did this in the Band of Brothers sequel, but that focused mostly on San Francisco, while this sequel would take place and focus on the American South, which has its own set of plot lines that could happen. I already have two chapters written and I'll probably post the first one on Monday. I want a cushion of a good amount of chapters ready before posting anything.

Also if Masters of the Air ever comes out, there will probably be a story for that too. I already have an idea for an OC that I want to write but can't do anything with her yet.

This is a long author's note, so I'm gonna end this by saying: Thank you guys for sticking with me, I really appreciate it. Y'all don't know how much it means that people were waiting and willing to come back right where we left off.
