HAT: Enjoy the final chapter of Pacifica Pines!

Going back to school is absolutely terrible. Everyone stares at her as she walks in and with Dipper and Mabel flanking her. They all knew of her... unfortunate incident from the race and that included her killing Dan. It was all over the papers. The absolute fear and pity in every eye that looked at her left her absolutely sick to the stomach.

"Don't worry about them," Dipper murmurs to her.

"Yeah, they're just being weird," Mabel assures.

Pacifica is glad- if nothing else- the twins didn't see her any different. They stopped treating her as fragile within the a day or two of her talk with Stanley. It seemed like everything was back to normal until they pulled up to the school and everyone stared.

It's when they enter the building that she hears a familiar, worried voice.

"Pacifica!"

She turns and sees Travis half-jogging down the hall towards her. Her heart squeezes at the sight because he looks like the others did when she first... responded. Worried and afraid to touch her.

"Are you alright?" He asks as he finally stands in front of her.

A shrugs. "About as good as the next person... sorry I didn't call or text. I was grounded."

Still grounded.

"I'm just glad you're alright... I read the news and..." He shakes his head and smiles at her. "You're tough. I gotta work harder if I'm gonna stand a chance against you in boxing."

And that right there is when she decides to let him be her friend. He did exactly what she'd practically been begging the world to do since she got out of the hospital... treat her like normal and not like fragile glass. How is it he was the only one that understood that? Is it because he had experience? Is it because he was too awkward to do otherwise? It doesn't matter.

Without even thinking she steps up and hugs him.

He seems to do a physical stutter before he puts an arm around her. "What's this for?"

She pulls away. "For being a friend."

She swears the only thing that could outshine the smile on his face was one of Mabel's.

"Let's hurry up to class before we're late," Dipper insists as the warning bell goes off.

"See you guys later," Pacifica says with a wave as she goes to her first class.

...

The rest of the school day is nothing to brag about. The teachers treated her like she was fragile as she turned in her homework and sat in class. Her classmates gave her a wide berth and didn't bother partnering with her unless they were forced. Even then they didn't bother speaking with her more than a few words at a time. It was insanely annoying. Luckily that anger that built up drained each time she got to those bright spots of her day- her friend and cousins.

At the end of the day she sits on the front steps of the school, the final vestiges of rage leaving her body as they talk about their days and the homework they have to do. Blissfully mundane things.

A flicker of a shadow catches my attention from the corner of Pacifica's eye look for it, but whatever she saw, it was no longer there. Perhaps it was an echo of paranoia from her experience with Dan or another paranormal creature. Whatever it was, she pushed it from her mind when Travis' big brother picks him up and takes him away.

She waves him away and rises at the sight of Stanley's car coming closer.

"Hey, kids. McGucket's come over for dinner. Makin' fried chicken and mashed potatoes," Stanley says as he pulls up.

"Awesome!" Mabel shouts as she hops into the back seat of the car.

"What's Grunkle Ford doing?" Dipper asks as he buckles his seat belt.

"He was taking Shmebulock to act as a negotiator with the gnomes to get them to leave human girls alone," Stanley answers as he pulls off. "Should be back in time for dinner. How was school?"

"School," the three of them answer and end up laughing.

"How was work?" Mabel asks.

Stanley grunts with a smirk, "Work."

Pacifica stares out the window as they drive and imagines herself running through the forest at and parkouring at- a glance at the speedometer tells her- seventy miles per hour. She's only jarred from this when Mabel elbows her side.

"Huh?"

"Sorry," Mabel says, shoving Dipper away with a devilish grin.

Pacifica laughs at their antics and watches as Mabel takes Dipper down a few notches.

"Alright, knock it off, we're home."

Pacifica smiles and clambers out with Mabel behind her. As they enter the Shack the smell of food wafts through the air.

"Welcome back!" McGucket calls with a smile. "How was school?"

"Good," Pacifica says.

Dipper shrugs, "Alright."

"Great," Mabel replies. "Thanks for making dinner, Mr. McGucket."

"It's a pleasure, darlin'," McGucket replies. "Ford and Shmeb got back a few minutes ago so ah'd say we're close to sittin' down fer supper."

Pacifica is grateful to hear it. If she had to wait to eat she'd be in a mood for the rest of the evening.

"Schmebulock!"

Pacifica hugs the gnome. "Hey, buddy. How'd the negotiations go."

He shrugs. "Schmebulock."

"Better luck next time," Dipper assures with a pat on Schmebulock's head.

He gives a determined "Schmebulock" before he goes and sits in his high chair at the dinner table.

Pacifica and the younger set of twins set up the table. Dipper dips off to get Stanford out of his office for dinner. Mabel and Pacifica sit at the table, marveling at the size.

"Grunkle Stan, you got a new table?!" Mabel shouts.

"How'd you just notice it after setting it up?" Stanley asks with an amused grin.

"Why?" Pacifica asks.

Stanley shrugs. "We've got a big family and we all need to eat."

"We can finally have everyone at the table for big meals!" Mabel cries with joy.

"That's the plan, kiddo," Stanley says as he ruffles her hair and sits down.

"He bought it while you all were in school," Stanford says as he enters the kitchen after Dipper. He looks to McGucket. "Do you need help?"

"If you wouldn't mind."

They were served their food and then soon they were eating together.

Pacifica decides- right then- that if this is what the rest of her life will be like with family- even if supernatural shenanigans find them often- that it was perfect for her.

HAT: It's over! We're done! I can wipe my hands of this fic and say I finally finished something! Thank you all for reading and reviewing! For those that have been with this fic since the beginning, thank you for sticking around and coming with me on this journey in growing as a writer! It's been a long 5 years, but I can safely say I'm happy with this ending. It was supposed to end a different way, but it took the story and ran with it. But for real, the beginning is cringe. I hate it.

*spotlight*

Which is why I'm redoing the entire f*cking thing! New beginnings, different plot points, and our favorite OCs making appearances! Will it be better? Maybe. Will it be worse? Heck no!

Keep on the lookout and look forward to another 5 years of the remake!

*bows* Thank you again and please take care of yourself. Please, leave me a review and let me know what you think! *waves* Goodbye for now! See you in the next fic!
