I'm terribly sorry. More sorry than I could ever truly express. This is no doubt something you've all come to accept, but this story has been abandoned. To blame events in my life as I have in the past would be childish and immature. The truth is as a person my interests have always been ever-changing and at times fleeting. My original ideas for this story were vast, and went far in my mind, in truth however, my interest in RWBY is gone, worse still, my interest in writing has waned. I could go on about the many reasons I'm just not interested in RWBY, from losing touch with the people in my life that loved the show, to the show itself, but in truth that would likely take up an entire day.

For old time's sake, I'll give a general plot synopsis of what would've happened. The rewrite would've shown Alexei once again killing his supposed teammates in his trial, and he would've been taken in by Ozpin again. Several chapters would detail his imprisonment, and the madness his semblance put on him. One chapter would detail him being sent into a White Fang base as a method of seeing just how affective his semblance was, the only survivor was to be Blake, but only narrowly. The semblance itself was to be even darker, showing that through projecting his aura onto others, Alexei would be able to consume their souls, thereby increasing his own strength. This was why he was shown to have an extra soul within his aura, a childhood friend he had killed when his semblance activated at a young age, and a memory he repressed. Alexei had no control over his semblance because he had created a split personality which took over the semblance entirely. The semblance having full control of Alexei's aura was to be an allegory for his desire to control his own emotions as Alexei had both depression and anxiety.

When the story reached RWBY proper, Alexei was to be far more of an enigma to the cast. Ozpin would once again allow him to attend classes again, but with a mask that was essentially a full metal plate over his face. Yang would once again be suspicious that this was her old friend, but the chase was far slower. The story would follow RWBY with some notable deviations from the main story. During the dockyard fight, Alexei was to get involved, fighting Torchwick and the White Fang and of course slaughter several until they escaped while sustaining heavy damage. He would then fight Penny, Blake, Sun, and Ruby, having lost control. In his insane state, he would hallucinate killing them but would actually have lost consciousness after Penny nearly killed him. Yang would of course be the one to find him, removing his mask and revealing him to be Alexei. The end of volume 2 was to be much bloodier, as I felt the show pulled far too many punches with the Grimm. Alexei was going to be on the mission with RWBY and get lost on the train ride and stuck in the tunnels where he would again lose control and even lose his arm to a Grimm. (I had come up with this idea before Yang had lost hers.) At the climax of volume 3, Alexei would have ended up showing up to try and save Yang and Blake from Adam, being too late and watching as Yang lost her arm. Seeing this Alexei of course flew into a full rage would fight Adam, losing as Adam severed off half of Alexei's head and destroyed Gray Death. This was to reveal that Alexei is virtually unkillable, as the semblance would reconstruct his brain and skull, leading to his two split personalities mixing, and giving him full control of his semblance.

The rest of the story as I had come up with at that point was going to be Alexei going to the city of Skretty Snegorod mentioned by Nikita. Here he would get a new weapon called the Berserker's Dilemma, which would be a shotgun and axe combo that could be used as two weapons or combined into one and used either as a polearm or a crank-operated fully-auto shotgun. He was to then go on a rampage against the White Fang and their allies, going on kill missions to multiple bases until he met up with RWBY again at some point, and would have to go on a character arc where Yang would either have to accept the new him, or find her old crush somewhere underneath. Unfortunately, as said, my interest in the show pretty much died with volume 4.

So, unfortunately, I will have to end things there. I don't have any interest in continuing this story. It is as simple as that. Now, I may continue writing and posting stories on this site, but I cannot guarantee anything. As for what I may write, well I've grown a massive interest in the world of Warhammer 40,000, so if I ever do write fanfiction again, it'll have to do with that. In fact, I've had ideas for a crossover with it and Mass Effect. If none of that tickles your fancy, then I encourage and respect your decision to unfollow me entirely. Anyways, I wish you all the best.
