Brief Bio:

My name isn't really Yuri Smirnoff (gasp) but that's the beauty of the internet. The name I usually go by on the internet is Ivan Smirnoff, however, I made an account with that username on FanFiction and promptly forgot the password and email address I used, so instead I went with YuriSmirnoff, which is the second most stereotyped Russian name. Don't ask me why I use a Russian name when I'm not even Russian. I just really like foreign countries and Russia is one of them. I also don't care much for alcohol. Every time I've tried it I always get an immediate headache. I created my Internet name back before I had tried drinking and it's just stuck ever since.

I live in the United States of Merica in a tiny village in a small forest in Illinois. Due to my secluded lifestyle I probably have more social issues than I really let on.

I am incredibly cynical for the most part. I'd like to think I'm a realist.

I would love to be a writer for a living. There are a lot of ideas in my head for original stories but I really need to get them written and focused.

I don't read nearly as much as I used to. Anime and video games mostly killed reading as a hobby for me.

I have two siblings who aren't related to me through blood, marriage, or adoption. It's a long story.

I have a dog and two cats.

I am a hermit.

I can listen to music of almost any genre, though I often don't like pop, hip hop, or rap.

The song Come, Sweet Death by Arianne may be my most favorite piece of music ever written. Everything from the bitter sweet lyrics, to the rhythm that goes from mostly happy in the beginning to a cacophony of insanity, to the singer's tone of voice, hits a deep connection I've never felt another song do. Its possibly the only thing I can listen to on repeat without getting tired of. I know that it's an allegory for suicide and honestly that's why I think it means so much to me. It's a song of the bitter sweet acceptance that anyone going through a suicide attempt will feel. They believe that there's no point in continuing and that the decision to kill themselves is the best and most happy. It's a state that I've found myself in numerous times.
