This is not the update you were looking for.

Yeah, no fan of a story enjoys hearing those words, myself included. I've lost count of the number of times where a fanfiction I've been following stops updating, and then ends up either being lost into the void of cyberspace or the author publishes a note that explains themselves. I prefer the latter, which is why I'm writing this now.

I am genuinely sorry about this, but The Travels of the Master of Death: The Prince that Was Promises, Invictus, and Knight of Remnant will no longer be receiving updates. The first on the list was my first proper publication, of sorts, and I wrote anything that really came to mind. Anything that either applied the Rule of Cool or was "tropey" was written down until it became a mess of a story filled with ridiculous notions such as dual-wielding swords and the like. Ultimately, I found The Prince that was Promised a cringey clusterf*ck of a story, and I'm disinclined to continue it. Invictus I wrote for NaNoWriMo and I've unfortunately lost my notes detailing where I wanted to take that story. So, rather than reconstruct them as best as I could, I opted for a revamp/spiritual-successor. Knight of Remnant was an attempt to write a self-insert fanfic that didn't go anywhere. Hence why I'm discontinuing it. It also doesn't help that RWBY as a franchise has disappointed me.

Uzumaki Naruto: Uzukage and Amaryllis Potter: Demigoddess Extraordinaire will be replaced with similar stories in the far future. I have notes written down for the specific nature of a crossover, but the plots have undergone a revamp since I initially published the chapters, so unfortunately these two will also be discontinued as they are.

The reason why I'm doing this "rebranding" of sorts, is that I'm looking to pursuing a full career in content creation. This would begin with writing stories, both fanfiction and original content, and convert them into audio books and comic dramas on YouTube. I am also pushing into streaming as a supplementary career. With that in mind, it's my hope that I can fuse fanfiction, Twitch and YouTube into a single career of sorts.

And because of that, most of my stories will need to be discontinued while others salvaged. The above text is a generic message that will be posted on all unfinished works on my profile. But as The Prince that was Promised is my most favourite, followed, and reviewed story, it is a massive disservice to you all if I don't at least offer some closure as to where this story was going. So, in bullet point form, I will try to explain.

Remaining Plot:

*The cliffhanger leaves off with Harry's dragon helping him overcome the inherent madness in all Targaryens (this notion was before I realised that the "Targaryen Madness" isn't actually genetic, by any sense of the word). Together, they would fight off the manifestation of Harry's madness and Harry would regain his composure.

*With the death of Joffrey, Tommen becomes Tywin's puppet king. Jaime's catatonic state renders Cersei disconsolate, allowing Tywin to cement his control on King's Landing.

*Stannis marshals his forces against Renly, who is killed as per canon. The Reachermen, save for the Florents, retreat giving Stannis a clear path to King's Landing. The second Shadow assassin is used on Tywin, causing the Lannister forces to fall into disarray, and Tyrion's lack of wildfyre and chain trick meant that Stannis had an easy victory.

*Meanwhile, Harry manages to earn the allegiance of the Redwyne fleet thanks to freeing the twins. He orders Paxter Redwyne to link up with Monford Velaryon and sail to Astapor to bring Dany (who manages to get the Unsullied) back to Westeros.

*Baelish, who bent the knee to Stannis, marries Lysa and brings the Vale against Harry. Most of the fighting on this front take place in the Riverlands, until Yohn Royce and the Lords Declarant side with Harry and bring the war in the Vale to a stalemate.

*Needing allies, a delegation is sent to the Reach to bring them onside. This works by brokering a marriage between Bran Stark and Alysanne Bulwer (Tyrell blood through her mother). The Reach then invade the southern Westerlands and skirmish into the Dornish Marshes of the Stormlands.

*The Dornish, sit tight and muster the forces along the Red Mountains.

*This is about as far as I got for fixed plots. From there, I had vague plans of F!Aegon invading with the Golden Company and seizing control of King's Landing, thanks to Mellisandre actually being in cahoots with them. Stannis is then sacrificed to the flames, empowering F!Aegon, who gains fire magic.

*Harry's armies then fight the Golden Company, which is supplemented by slave warriors of the Red Faith. Harry then meets F!Aegon in single combat, and nearly wins until F!Aegon mutates into some Balrog-like abomination.

Unfortunately, this is as far a I really planned. There were vague notes on Dany taking a pit stop to conquer the Three Daughters, who had sided with F!Aegon, and I had nothing noted down for the Wall. And given what the show did, I don't really have any inspiration for it.

In a nutshell, this story is stupidly cringey. I honestly wish I could go back to past me and slap him across the face several times for this travesty. Despite that, I am genuinely flattered by everyone who still continued to favourite this story years after the last chapter. I can only hope that you'll follow me with my upcoming works and beyond.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for sticking this long, and I'm extremely sorry that I am unable to continue this.

Take it easy, and keep safe!
