A/N: Sorry for not posting in a incredibly long time I've been busy in the United States Air Force and have been deployed several times. For the past few months I've been meaning to post this chapter but I kept adding things into it or got distracted from doing so. I hope this 18k chapter make up for my long absence, and don't worry I will post for my other stories too.

Chapter 18 Conquering Fears

A tiny consistent beep echoed through the morning mist of a den waking only one individual from a deep slumber. Chris stirred in his comfortable sleeping bag before a massive yawn exploited, revealing his perfect rows of teeth. One of the many things he hated was having to wake up so early in the morning to prepare for the day. Even when he had seven hours of sleep prior, there's still that nagging part of the brain that cries for him to stay asleep. Chris blindly felt around his arm for the watch to stop the high pitched beeping and finally got the noise to stop after several tries. A deep calming sigh of relief escaped him as his adjusting eyes averted to his watch to check the time. Luckily for him there was more than enough time for a quick shower and to prepare breakfast before heading away to work. Chris attempted to sit up but was restrained by a white furred pup on his chest snuggling into him peacefully. A wide smile creased his face staring down to the peacefully breathing Lilly uptop of him. He took his hand and gently groomed her soft back causing small adorable girl-ish moans and growls to escape her muzzle. Lilly began to stir moving her nose inches apart from Chris that left him temporarily stuck. Lilly's warm breath pressed his slightly dried lips sharing the carbon dioxide with her best friend. The fact their lips weren't so far apart formed a blush on his face and knew at any moment Lilly's parents could wake. Chris didn't even think about how the morning would plan out if they were found sleeping together. All he knew was late last night he was awakened and his partner in crime wasn't mentally feeling her best to sleep without him. Being the nice caring guy he is, he didn't hesitate to aid her with his opening arms of comfort.

Any furthermore movements the duo could be in a rather embarrassing and awkward position to explain. And he wasn't about to let something unexpected happen to ruin both their mornings and maybe even day. Chris delicately grabbed Lilly by her hips and tried to set her off aside comfortably, but her claws were caught on to his clothing. The attempt to move her only got worse when Lilly repositioned herself on his chest clinging onto him tighter this time. It wasn't long for Chris to discover there wasn't a way he was escaping her grasp without waking her. The only way to leave would be to inform the white furred pup he has to go. Knowing Lilly and the type of rebellious girl she is, she'll just try to talk Chris into taking her along or sneak out to follow him. However, he would rather have those chances than to be caught with the youngest daughter of the pack leaders on top of him centimeters away from kissing. Chris reached his hand to nudge her face but before he could, Lilly started mumbling random words with a huge grin on her muzzle.

"Ugrhk...I won this time..rabbit...chasing is...my perfection...C-Chris" Lilly sleepily mumbled in shaky breaths moving her head deeper underneath his neck.

"What the heck are you dreaming about you silly omega?" Chris asked in a form of a chuckling whisper, tucking her bang away from her closed eyelids.

Chris took a minute to admire the sleeping omega and she truly looks beautiful with her bang away even when she's asleep. All she ever does is glows a heavenly bright white that compliment the young feminine curves that will form better with time. No matter how many times Chris stares at Lilly it makes his insides melt. There's something about her that has him heavily attracted and nagges him to never lose her. The feeling is much stronger than friendship and bigger than any bond. It most certainly feels like the duo being together is a destiny that's inevitable. First they have yet to fully analyze these emotions and attachments they have for each other. Both partners in fun don't know how much they mean to one another and maybe someday the truth will overflow the overdue.

Lilly's tail began to sway inside the sleeping bag rubbing across Chris's manhood several times, immediately taking his thoughts away with widened eyes and a semi-growing boner. Chris grabbed her tail to stop her seductive rubbing, but perhaps did it too roughly and jolted Lilly awake. Unintentionally, she jumped forward forcing their lips to crash together into a muffled kiss as they both stared into each other's widened eyes. Several seconds after realization, Lilly pulled away from the kiss, and clumsily backed out of the sleeping bag hiding in the darkest shadows of the den. The duo was both too embarrassed to say a single word and felt like they could die from the anxiety.

Chris obtained the courage to speak but before the first word came out Lilly went flying past him. You can hear the soft sobs escaping her as she ran wherever her legs could take her, and that's possibly far away from the den. The confused Chris didn't know what to do and had no upside to where she could be running to. Now his main mission must be side tracked to find the weeping omega and question her for the sudden sadness. Chris quietly removed himself from the sleeping bag before packing it up onto his back quickly. Before walking out he doubled check to see if the family of wolves was still peacefully sleeping and on cue there was a soft snore. From all the noise Lilly made retreating, he was quite surprised the family of three didn't wake up instantly. However, he wasn't questioning it and began his search for his best friend to straighten things out. Chris was greeted by heavy fog along with tiny rain pellets when he stepped foot out the den. He was quick to realize searching for a white furred pup in this camouflaging damped heavy fog, would be near to impossible for anyone, but it's worth a shot.

10 Minutes Later...

Chris has been searching high and low for Lilly and started to become worried after no sign remotely close to her location. Blame instantly began to pound his head that he should've never let her sleep with him in the first place. It's a strong outcome that she would've never ran away to who knows where and it is him who would be responsible for the pack leader's youngest daughter disappearance. What if the whole pack turns on him? What if Lilly ran away out of disgust and didn't want anyone to know about? What if she stumbled into danger like a bear, or worse poachers? An even worse outcome would be a chance Cain could've captured her and will use her as bait for the upcoming war. Chris knew with all those good questions and possibilities in his head he needed to find Lilly and quickly before her family awakes. The fog kept getting damper by the minute and by now there's no point searching for her with eyes. Chris decided he should use his brain meat instead to find where she would run if she's sad. After thinking long and hard he did remember quite frankly yesterday she was by the lake clawing a tree to obliteration.

Chris ran off to the lake, hoping she would be there safe and mercifully not clawing at another tree. He worries for Lilly whenever she's upset because she can go extreme when she can't control her emotions. If she has no repercussions of implanting pain on her paws until it's numb, then there's more to worry about for what she might do to herself in the meantime. Chris arrived at what appeared the lakeside but wasn't sure because of the heavy fog. He roamed around for a little and to his surprise he saw a white fluffy fur ball. Lilly was near the banks curled up in a tight ball shaking violently as if she was cold; and she didn't sound too happy either judging from her constant sobbing. Chris face frowned to the deathening sight and again blamed himself for all of this that could have easily been avoided. He hates when Lilly cries and can't help but feel like he's letting her down and isn't enough to keep her happy. After sliding his sleeping bag off his back silently on the ground, he calmly began walking over to Lilly to not startle her. Chris was a few feet behind her and stepped on a twig causing her head to whip back into a crying defensive position.

"Who..*sniffles*...goes there?…*sniffles sniffles*.." Lilly cried in a high fragile voice, attempting to sound intimidating but her emotions wouldn't allow her too.

"Hey relax...it's just me" Chris softly said stepping closer to reveal himself from the damp fog along with his hands in a defenceless position.

Lilly sat down on her hind legs, staring at the ground as tears strolled down her face. There was a mediocre silence between the two as both fought mentally to speak first.

"Hey-"

"Chris I'm-"

They spontaneously said at once and paused again into an awkward silence. Chris moved much closer to Lilly and their eyes attracted together almost instantly.

"Uh you first...why are you so upset?" Chris asked in a quiet tone easing his way into opening her emotions. Lilly didn't respond at first, or for the first few seconds after she bit her tongue to speak. She gathered up all her thoughts and unleashed them out at once as tears began to build up in her lavender eyes again.

"Because y-you hate me...after all I-I've done I know you have-have to hate me...I'm so sorry I k-k-keep doing these things to you..I didn't mean to I p-promise and please d-don't stop being my friend I-just..please d-don't leave me-" Lilly sobbed, as a gallon of tears rushed from her eyes and her balance became weak. Chris caught the crying Lilly before she fell, pulling him into his chest tightly, and supporting her sobs for comfort.

"Awww shhhh it's okay...I can never hate you and I'm not going anywhere" Chris said stroking her back gently to soothe her weeping as she clung onto him passionately.

"I'm so sorry Chris" Lilly sobbed into the form of a light whisper nuzzling deeper into his neck.

"It's okay Lilly...it's okay" Chris said massaging her with more backrubs as his shirt became drinched from tears.

After several minutes of Lilly's weeping, she finally composed a hold of herself and dried out her tears sniffling. Chris pulled away slightly to gaze in those glossy lavender eyes that showed so much hurt and confusion. He cupped her soft furred cheek with his hands and stroked her blushing cheek tenderly with a half smile. Whenever he does that it always manages to calm Lilly down and vanish any bad emotions she's feeling at the moment. That gooey feeling inside she's been meaning to tell him for the past two days, only gets stronger and by now it's at an all-time high. It's as clear as day that Lilly is hopeless without Chris and that he has made her miserable life better. Honestly if it wasn't for him she'll more than likely be dead for her own actions. Even though Lilly has her family, she sometimes feels like Chris is the only family she has left. The one and only guy that understands her and treats her like a respected queen of omegas. If somehow the duo manage to split it would change both their lives forever.

Chris also feels the same about Lilly and wouldn't be as whole without her. For the past two weeks he has been having so much fun with her rebellious tendencies and learned tremendously about the pack while doing so. By now there's no way to hide the fact that whenever Lilly isn't beside him, he thinks about the next time they'll rejoice together. All that sumarges Chris mind is those beautiful bright big lavender eyes, that frightening but dazzling canine teeth in a smile, and to compliment it all with the most perfect laugh. The longer he's away from Lilly the more she's on his mind and grows that intense feeling inside about her. Strangely enough Chris didn't mind the kiss the two shared minutes ago because it actually felt real. That the kiss was destiny between the duo and that it was meant to happen that justifies a stronger relationship. Chris doesn't know how hard this would be to Lilly, but he has to announce his feelings or else it might end things between them.

"I...Lilly..uh...can I tell you something?..you know about what happened?" Chris nervously said shaking in his skin uneasy to gaze in lavender eyes.

"Um y-yes" Lilly sniffled giving him her now fully attention with perked ears.

"Uh okay...um...would it be weird if I told you...I-I kinda liked our kiss" Chris confessed shyly receiving a small gasp from Lilly.

"No it isn't at all...because I-I...I feel the same" Lilly admitted blushing, surprising Chris she actually liked their kiss too.

"Really!?...ahem I mean...I thought that's why you ran off...because you didn't like it" Chris said softly as his smile began to fade slightly.

"The truth is...we're only friends and I stupidly keep getting all rody with you and breaking something between us I don't ever want to end...as crazy as this might s-sound...you're all I have..Chris.." Lilly said feeling like her cheeks is about to explode with embarrassment.

"That doesn't sound crazy at all...and I don't think you're breaking anything...we're building a spark between us" Chris kindly said creasing a giant smile on his face while touching his hand over her paw.

"Have any idea what that spark is?...I've been feeling it too lately" Lilly spoke up blushing madly about the gooey feeling she has inside for him.

"I don't have a clue but I know we would figure it out eventually because that's what heroes do" Chris said squeezing Lilly's paw lovingly, while moving her messy bang away from her eyes to fully reveal those lavenders.

"If we are heros you would be my perfect side-kick" Lilly joked brightening up the moment in a shared mix of soft laughter.

"Yeah right in your dreams" Chris laughed off reaching for his sleeping bag while Lilly finished up her giggles.

"What powers would you have?...max speed!...super strength!...read minds!?" Lilly exclaimed as her tail wagged rapidly from the sudden excitement.

"I have all those powers already...ask me a real power" Chris remarked with a chuckle and Lilly's tail stopped wagging to express a "really" face.

"Oh yeah?...if you can read minds what am I thinking right now?" Lilly asked smirking with half lidded eyes knowing he'll never guess.

"Hold up give me a second I have to go into intimate psychological mind control mode" Chris said playing the role utilizing his powers with funny hand gestures that made Lilly laugh.

"Oh stop it you look ridiculous!" Lilly cried out in joyous laughter holding her stomach from caving in.

"My senses are strong with this one" Chris said chuckling pretending to use his mind reading powers by using the force technique.

"Hahaha you're killing me!" Lilly laughed out loud enough for the entire pack to hear it.

"Right now you're thinking I'm the most sophisticated articulated lustfully astonishing delectably admiring human being known to exist" Chris said in his own fit of laughter sharing the joyous emotion with Lilly.

"I definitely wasn't thinking that nice try" Lilly giggled after she finally calmed down from an intense session of laughing at her best friend's silliness.

"That may be true but I made you laugh and now...I think...with my mind reading powers of course...you're happy" Chris chuckled, bopping Lilly's wet nose causing her to let out a soft giggle.

"Yes I am...thank you for always understanding" Lilly remarked smiling widely before placing him in a quick hug.

"That's what best friends do" Chris said glaring his charming smile on Lilly who repaid one back.

"We will always be best friends right?" Lilly asked softly hoping he'll say the answer she has pre-planned in her mind.

"We are and always will be best friends remember that...when you fall I will be right there to pick you up after I finish laughing" Chris joked sharing another joyous moment of laughter with the omega. Suddenly his watch beeped to conceal it's the next hour.

"Oh right...I have to get ready" Chris said putting his sleeping bag on his back before standing and walking away. Lilly wagged her tail rapidly, panting from the excitement.

"Where are we going?!..is it somewhere fun!?" Lilly excitedly asked trotting closer up to him, unable to control her tail speed.

"Sorry did I just hear a we?" Chris asked with a raised brow and a brightened chuckle.

"Yes because I'm coming along" Lilly chalantly said holding her head up high as if it was a clear answer.

"You don't even know where I'm going...I could be sacrificing myself to a group of hungry bears" Chris joked walking in a direction with Lilly following close behind.

"I've done that several times already and they usually enjoy my company this time around anyway" Lilly joked back sharing a small laugh with her peer.

"Oh now I feel bad for the bears..they were running out their burning caves screaming for you to get away" Chris joked laughing and Lilly rolled her eyes playfully wacked him with her tail giggling.

"Rawr!" Lilly growled playfully trying to show off her aggressiveness, unknowing to how adorable she was for Chris to handle.

"That was so CUTE I can die!" Chris said laughing hysterically holding onto his stomach and Lilly instantly blushed at his response.

"For the last time I am not cute!" Lilly shouted lunging at Chris tackling him with a small yelp and thud, as the momentum carried them back down to the lakeside.

The morning air of misty fog was filled with laughter as the two rolled back down the hill fighting for dominance. Anytime he wrestles with Lilly it makes him feel like a kid again playing around at recess. Honestly he has felt more of a child whenever his omega friend is accompanied. These are the memorable moments that stay lurking in his mind the entire day and that he never wants to forget. Years from the present those memories can be all he has left of their friendship and you can bet he's gonna make more while he still can. Chris's laughter became faintly when he realized how close they were arriving at the lakeside at top speed. Lilly was so occupied on intending to playfully inforce pain on her best friend, that she didn't notice how fast they were rolling, before both of them submerged underwater. Realization quickly settled in as Chris gasped for air above the surface, struck from the surprisingly cold water. He remembered that Lilly didn't know how to swim and flashbacks pounded his head of the horrific images of that stormy night. The same heart threatening feeling Chris had then returned back when he didn't see her surface.

"LILLY!..." Chris worriedly shouted whipping his head around while swimming in circles.

"I'm over here Chris help!" Lilly shouted, gaining his attention in that direction to see she was standing on a rock.

"Hold on I'm coming!" Chris shouted back swimming as fast as he could to her, but before he could get close to her the lakes current pulled him away. He quickly reacted and swam backwards to avoid being taken into a flowing river.

Chris took a minute to calmly admire the situation and had to come up with a plan to save the frightened omega. An algae covered rock surrounded by deep water is the only natural surface keeping Lilly from possibly drowning. There wasn't a physical way for Chris to save her because the stream will carry him to a possible waterfall ahead. However, if he angles himself in the correct position, the stream can carry Lilly right into his arms. The difficult part of this plan is to get her to swim to him and face one of her biggest fears. Chris swam to the hopefully lucky spot confusing Lilly as one of her paws nearly slipped off the rock.

"Chris what are you doing!?" Lilly asked puzzled and scared that he might've given up at the same time.

"Okay Lilly you're not about to like this but you have to swim to me!" Chris managed to say barely above surface from the noisy waters.

"Are you crazy I can't swim!" Lilly shouted panicky while looking down into the deepening waters.

"You have to trust me on this!..I won't make it to you the stream will take me away you'll have to swim Lilly it's the only way!" Chris shouted with clear worry on his face, feeling like it's a matter of time before she slips off the rock.

"There has to be another way!" Lilly cried out as the tears began to well up in her eyes as she tactically looked for a different solution.

"There is no other way you can do it!...I believe in you!" Chris replied back at the unsure tearful Lilly.

"I-I...I'm scared" Lilly cried, unable to stop herself from gazing down at the streaming waters.

"You are tougher than you think and stronger than you realize...don't think about what's worse to happen...you must confront your fears and come face to face with it because it determines how you handle them for the rest of your life...Lilly you are an amazingly gifted omega that has accomplished many things already and now it's time for your next step" Chris said to the less determined omega who's still standing frozen on a rock still unsure.

"The key to not being scared is to act like you're not scared...the times I saved you I was scared out of my mind but I didn't let my fears control the outcome...now it's your turn...move your front and back paws and paddle as fast as you can...like this!" Chris explained showing an example by paddling himself and Lilly slightly nodded.

"O-Okay" Lilly shakily said staring down at the deep flowing waters with discomfort.

"Don't look at the water look at me!...show me your eyes and swim to me you can do it!" Chris said with a confident smirk at the hesitant omega.

Lilly was much more hesitant as expected but after taking a short deep breath, she gave Chris worrisome eye contact and jumped in. Instantly she submerged underwater for about five long seconds driving him insane from the suspicion. Just as he was about to dive in after her, she popped above surface panicking, and splashing water everywhere swimming around in circles.

"Lilly calm down and swim to me...just relax and paddle...remember you're not scared" Chris explained and Lilly soon after she regained composure and followed as commanded. Lilly slowly but surely stayed above neck level and started to steer her way to him.

"That's it Lilly you're doing it keep going!...don't look down look at me!" Chris reminded smirking widely as Lilly stares him down while slowly swimming her way to him.

As expected the lakes current pulled Lilly at an angle near his area as she tried her hardest not to be thrown off focus. Lilly lost a bit of her swimming power by the currents pull, but thankfully Chris was in the right spot to grab her as planned. She clinged herself to his chest tightly as he paddled backwards and swamed back to safety. Chris's back soon touched land and he eased up on swimming and laid his head on the wet grass with Lilly on his chest.

"Lilly I think we're on land now...you're safe" Chris mentioned taking in deep breaths exhausted. Lilly lifted her head admiring the surroundings to see indeed they were on land. An explosion of happiness and relief erupted out of Lilly as she shook herself dry and pranced around.

"I was swimming!..Chris did you see that?!..did you see it!?...I did it I can swim!..I swam to you!" Lilly excitedly said overly thrilled she swam in a desperate situation accomplishing one of her biggest fears.

"Yes I was there I'm aware you were swimming haha" Chris chuckled from her sense of happiness and was engulfed into a surprising tight hug.

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you so so much you are truly the greatest" Lilly said nuzzling into his chest hugging ever so passionately as if this would be the last time.

"You're very welcome" Chris said softly accepting her hug as she melted into his arms perfectly.

Lilly pulled away after a while and gazed in his eyes with their noses inches apart, revealing her perfect canine smile. The spark between them that was mentioned earlier was back and stronger than ever. Whenever Lilly holds him so close, stares into those hazel eyes, or has similar sweet moments with Chris; all the emotions she has for him melts and oozes out of her heart. Primal instincts yell for her to connect lips with him, tie up the knot, or entwine as one, but her brain tells her to discard instead. Lilly still doesn't have any explanation to why she feels this way when he's around and it only grows stronger each time. The kiss they shared earlier unintentionally erupted all sorts of emotions to the point all she could do was cry. Little to Lilly the source of her crying wasn't all for the fact their accidental kiss might ruin a close bond between them, but also for the strong feelings she has for him. After all that was the first time she's kissed any boy on the lips and didn't know how to respond. The only way for her to truly understand those feelings is to kiss him again and suffer whatever consequences that tags.

"I have a request" Lilly lightly said in a form of a whisper with her ears pinned and blushing face.

"What is it?" Chris asked curious to what she may be requesting to him.

"C-Can we try to...do it..again?" Lilly asked shyly avoiding eye contact and fumbling with her paws.

"Do what again?" Chris asked, feeling like his heart can thump out of his chest at any second.

"Kiss?" Lilly said nervously, closing her eyes slowly letting the moment sink as she leaned in.

"I wouldn't mind it" Chris said following her lead leaning in also as the warmth of Lilly's breath breached his wet lips.

"Ahem!"

Lilly and Chris's attention immediately whipped to the sound of disapproval and saw Winston sitting with a smirk. Lilly clumsily backed away from Chris and fixed herself to not look guilty of anything but Winston chuckled already witnessing far too much.

"Dad!...uh..what are you doing here?" Lilly asked blushing madly from the romantic embarrassment.

"Well I live here of course and happened to be thirsty at the right time...you two make quite the impressive team...or heros as you two would call it" Winston said smiling with a wink as Chris and Lilly took a small glance at each other.

"How long have you been watching us?" Chris asked to how he knew the conversation that had not even five minutes ago.

"Long enough to know what you two can accomplish together...I see great potential of you two leading this pack into a bright future" Winston informed having that smile that still never left his face.

"It wasn't that impressive" Kate said revealing herself from behind her dad with a sucky attitude mostly towards Chris.

"Kate you're supposed to be attending your daily morning conditioning with the others...20 more laps for not following orders" Winston said firmly and Kate gave a look of disbelief.

"But-"

"Do you want 40 more?" Winston suggested turning to stare down at her that he isn't bluffing. Lilly suppressed her giggling and stuck her tongue out at Kate when Winston wasn't watching.

"Ugh" Kate sighed defeatedly before running off to meet up with her alpha school litter.

"As for you Lilly...you are to join her I must have a word with Chris" Winston ordered and Lilly face sunken in misery.

"But Dad-"

"Do you want more laps added?...if I remember correctly it was your decision to become an alpha" Winston cleared up and now it was Lilly turn to sigh in defeat. Lilly gave her best friend a quick hug and surprising lick on his cheek before saying.

"See you later Chris" Lilly said sweetly with a pleasant smile before running off disappearing beyond the hill.

The attention soon turned to Winston and Chris as neither of them spoke. More or less Chris didn't want to speak, frightened to what he might say about his counterpart. Winston walked a bit closer as another dazzling smile was on the grey furred wolf muzzle.

"If you haven't noticed my daughter has grown quite close to you...it seems like you've become a part of her existence..heck..she might even be in love with you" Winston finished, sitting a respectable distance in front of him. When he mentioned the L word Chris nearly choked on air.

"In l-love?...I think that's a little too far I'll say she's curious about me and a lot of other things and I happen to be that guy to answer those" Chris cleared up denying the fact a half aged omega wolf is in love with him. Winston let out a half enlighten chuckle before saying.

"If that's what you want to call it...anyways...I'm giving you permission for shared custody with my youngest daughter...my mate and I have been discussing and realized she's a better version of herself whenever she's with you..this was a sensitive topic for us but after witnessing you two work together that finalized my decision" Winston said forming that casual smile that transferred onto Chris.

"I would love that and I'm sure Lilly would too...by the way when will Lilly know the good news?" Chris referred to trying his best to hide the happiness that Lilly can officially live with him.

"I will confirm the news to her after she's finished with her daily morning conditioning...until then...you do whatever you can to stay in shape before later this evening" Winston said firmly and Chris nodded before attaching his sleeping bag on his back.

"Yessir that will do" Chris replied standing up tall on both feet before checking his watch.

"See you then...you are dismissed" Winston said nodding before walking his way to the cool refreshing lake to take a lap of water.

Chris walked the opposite direction to his truck thinking about how he's about to arrange his home approved for another being. The visions of endless fun infected his mind as the duo can now spend more nights together doing countless things. Other than his precious doggo Rosanna, he has been quite lonely with no one to share his time with that he can actually understand. Those were the cons of living in the timberlands but now on second thought it wasn't such a bad idea. Chris would have never thought months ago when he decided to move to Jasper, he would become a pack member to wolves. Nevertheless being best friends with a wolf is an even more rare possibility. Chris used his keys to unlock his truck doors and lightly tossed his sleeping bag in the back. Time was against him and he'll be lucky enough to prepare himself a good breakfast or else it's McDonald's breakfast drive-thru again. Less than six minutes the truck was pulling up in front of his sweet cabin home. Chris rushed out his vehicle with limited time to shower and make breakfast before it broke past 8:30 A.M. When he twisted his home keys to unlock his door, barking expectly by Rosie erupted. After fully opening his door he paced inside tossing his keys aside, and playing with the overly happy puppy while holding her in his arms.

"Hey girl!...haha I missed you too!" Chris said chuckling in his cute doggy voice as Rosie covered his face in loveable licks and frigid whines.

"You must be starving" Chris said releasing her to the floor as he reached for the dog food on top of the refrigerator.

Rosanna was prancing around in circles barking while her loose flimsy tail wagged crazily. Chris walked to the feeding bowl as she followed every step of the way, and he hovered the hunky bag pouring out the deliciousness. Before he could even finish filling up the bowl, Rosanna muzzle was already deep inside munching away. A bright smirk appeared on Chris's face as he watched his puppy happily get healing her hunger. He used this time to comb her silky fur with a newly purchased brush for a small groom and also checked her claws. The last time he left Rosie for a day she managed to damage her claws pretty badly by climbing the counters to steal treats. After the short check up, she was cleared as healthy, and Chris carried the dog food back to its original location. He then strolled off to his bedroom to get his work clothes ready before showering. As he entered his room much to his pleasant surprise, a familiar white furred wolf was laying in his bed flipping through his adult themed magazine. Lilly had in wired SkullCandy earbuds nodding her head lightly while singing the lyrics to 'Animal I Have Become' by Three Days Grace.

"So what if you can see, the darkest side of me. No one can ever tame this animal I have become. Help me believe, it's not the real me. Somebody help me tame this annnnimmmaalll..." Lilly sung gracefully in a soft voice as she flipped through another magazine page unaware that Chris was in the room.

"Lilly what are you doing here?...how the hell did you get in anyway?..and aren't you supposed to be attending your morning workouts?" Chris asked unable to hold a serious face for long by watching Lilly nod her head goofily to the song. He wasn't as surprised as he should've been because this is Lilly, it was only a matter of time before she snuck away to his home again.

"You think all the guys would drool over me if I can get a hot bod like these human girls?" Lilly asked strictly ignoring his previous question with a sense of curiosity, pointing to the female models in the magazine. Chris rolled his eyes before walking over to his dresser to fetch his work attire.

"Nope not a chance" Chris teased, taking off his shirt and tossing it in the laundry bin.

"Well that's just harsh" Lilly said pinning her ears down pretending to be hurt by his words before flipping another page analyzing the woman.

"Maybe because I want to be the center of attention to all the males in your pack with my body instead...who can resist this?" Chris asked flexing his decently muscular frame with different poses which made Lilly laugh hysterically. Lilly actually was getting a little turned on from the sight of his muscular bare chest, but she wasn't about to admit it to boost his self-esteem.

"Hahaha whatever I'm sure you're not their type anyway….but seriously though...what would you think of me if I looked like these girls?" Lilly asked again swaying her tail and hiding her burning red cheeks behind the magazine. She really wanted to know if Chris would find her attractive as a human or not. But the only question is, why did she even want to know that?

"I wouldn't think of you much different than I think of you now...a lazy hot-headed girl who makes one too many turtle jokes and slacks off to not get hot bod she wants" Chris said undressing out his pants and tossing them in the laundry bin.

"Ugh you're no fun!" Lilly teased rolling her eyes, turning another page in the magazine.

"Maybe if you were at your morning workouts I could come up with an accurate answer...as a matter-of-factly that's how you get that hot bod you desire" Chris said taking the magazine away from Lilly and sliding it back underneath the mattress with the others.

"Hey rude!...I was reading that you know!" Lilly exclaimed slightly upset that Chris stopped her sexual appeal of admiring women.

"I should really invest in new locks for my home...perhaps a few 24 hours surveillance cameras too" Chris said to himself placing his work clothes neatly on his bed.

"You can't do that how else would we work together?...we are heroes and you're my sidekick remember?" Lilly said cheerfully, then removing the earbuds from her perked ears smiling at him widely.

"For the last time I am not your sidekick and I should honestly side kick you in that hot head of yours...maybe it'll get you to become the brain dead alpha you always wanted to be" Chris teased tossing a fresh set of blankets over her head and ut covered her entire body as a childish laugh escaped him. Lilly laughed at his small prank he pulled on her and tried endlessly to get the blanket off her head.

"The day I become a brain dead alpha caribou would fly to the moon" Lilly shot back followed up with giggles as she finally got the blanket off her head, only to see Chris wasn't in the room anymore.

Lilly hopped down from the bed and walked out of the room to spot her human friend putting all his dirty laundry in the washing machine. Lilly trotted over to the couch hopping on and circling in a spot before finally laying down. Chris was handling minor chores in his underwear unknowingly to the glowing pair of lavender eyes watching. It's not a lot of males if any in Lilly's pack that she finds attractive and the fact that Chris is in good shape drove her hormones crazy. Lilly hasn't really checked him out until now when he's half naked in his underwear. By the hanging tongue and panting noises she escalated, it was clear and obvious she liked what she was seeing. When Chris turned her way she quickly fixed her expression pretending not to be paying attention. At least until he walked past her to pick up some of Rosie's scattered dog toys around the house. After picking up a particular one, Rosie was quick to run up to him and bite down on the toy growling.

"Rosieeee...let it go" Chris said in a warning tone as he played tug of war with his small dog. Lilly giggled at their little interaction of toy dominance before saying.

"She asked are you sure?" Lilly asked with a light laugh wagging her tail.

"Am I sure?...yes I'm sure I have to get ready for work" Chris said while still tugging the toy with his small dog.

Rosie released the toy and Chris used all his force at the wrong time and tumbled backwards on the floor. Rosanna retreated through her doggy door outside to escape the possible bashment from her beloved owner. Lilly was in tears rolling around the couch in laughter, holding onto her stomach as he recovered from the small pain of embarrassment. Chris stood up from the floor tossing the toy in a bin with the others and picked up a small couch pillow slamming it into the laughing omega's face. Lilly let out a surprised yelp and fell onto the floor with bristled fur and a shocked expression. Now it was Chris's turn to laugh at the messy furred omega who already had revenge on her mind. She grabbed a couch pillow and tried to throw it back at his face, but she underestimated her throw and it hit him right below the waist. Chris's laughter almost immediately stopped as he clinched his baby makers falling to the floor in agonizing pain. Lilly ears perked up worried she might've severely hurt her best friend and within an instant she was by his side.

"Oh my goodness Chris I'm so sorry!" Lilly cried out trying the best she can to comfort him and his groaning.

"Don't worry I had that coming to me haha" Chris painfully grunted, using the support of his nightstand to help him stand.

"No it wasn't supposed to hurt you that bad...here let me help" Lilly said crouching herself lower underneath him pushing upwards to help him stand.

"Thanks you're the best sidekick ever!" Chris joked after regaining composure in his lower region and Lilly rolled her eyes.

"Don't make me regret helping you" Lilly giggled with a half smirk while sitting on her hind legs.

"I thought heros never regret helping someone?" Chris asked walking to his laundry room to get a few dry towels.

"Only when your sidekick backstabs you with a pillow to the face" Lilly shot back swaying her tail on the wooden floor.

"Sorry my mind reading instincts told me your face was a bad guy" Chris said and a confused laugh escaped the omega as he placed a towel around his neck.

"That doesn't make sense and that's not how mind reading works dummy" Lilly giggled out, suddenly wagging her tail rapidly.

"Well someone has to be the villain and I guess in the worst case scenario it was your face" Chris laughed soon to be joined by Lilly filling the cabin home with joy.

"That's no fair who are you to vote for the villain anyways?" Lilly asked with a raised brow unable to hold in her giggles.

"I didn't vote the gods did" Chris chuckled holding his arms to the sky while walking towards the bathroom with a confident smirk.

"Oh so there's gods now?..." Lilly asked giggling as she performed a priceless 'you gotta be kidding me face'.

"Yup" Chris simply said walking past her to his bathroom.

"Okay since you're more knowledgeable about this than me…why don't you enlighten me more about these so called 'gods'...I gotta hear this" Lilly said smuging a grin, willing to see how far he'll carry on a joke that already went one too far.

"...*gasp*...you're a hero and you don't know about the gods of backflipping porcupines and breakdancing chipmunks?" Chris asked pretending to be shocked by her cluelessness. This sent Lilly over the edge and she nearly dropped dead from laughter regarding how corney what he said was.

"Hahaha backflipping porcupines and breakdancing chipmunk's are our gods?...all civilization is fucked if we're saving them!" Lilly laughed out loudly and Chris couldn't help but laugh at the unexpected outburst.

"I never said we were elite heroes we just get the job done that's all that matters" Chris said shrugging with a chuckle before entering the bathroom and closing the door.

Lilly's smile was wider than the Grinch when she relaxed from the giggles she previously had from her own joke. These were one of the many reasons she loves hanging out with her human companion. Lilly would get at least one good laugh whenever she's within his presents, and it makes her loosen up more than often. She hasn't even been this open with her personality to her own goofy omega friends at her pack. Lilly frowns instantly changes to smiles and negatives becomes forgotten when she sees her human friend. It goes to show that Chris unlocked special a part of herself she didn't know was there before.

Lilly spotted the TV remote on the coffee table and with an easy jaw grasp she possessed it effortlessly. She turned it on and was heavily puzzled by the sight of familiar faces. The channel was on Netflix and the movie Alpha & Omega was widely displayed on the screen. Lilly took in acknowledgement that her sister, Humphrey, and weird looking birds were on the cover. Curiosity got the best of her and she pressed the movie to see the screenshots along with the movie trailer. She didn't know rather to be creeped out by the older versions of herself and family, or the fact it says the movie has been watched completely. No excuse can explain to Lilly why there's an hour+ long movie about her family that apparently involves around Kate and Humphrey. If she was to watch the movie it wouldn't be much different from now, everything pretty much does involves around her sister mostly. Lilly eventually snapped her thoughts and shrugged it off, ignoring the strange encounter for now by opening the YouTube application. The first recommended video caught her attention and it seemed quite interesting.

"Mortal Kombat fatalities compilation?" Lilly whispered to herself in a form of a question as the snippet preview played.

"Hm..this looks...unpleasant...I like it!" Lilly said suddenly wagging her tail furiously with a wide grin pressing play on the video.

"What looks pleasant?" Rosie's adorable high pitched voice asked as she struggled to hop on the couch next to Lilly.

"This youtube vid-...oh...maybe I don't like unpleasant after all" Lilly said in a regretful tone as both of them winced from the first brutal fatality.

"Yeah you should change this I think I'm gonna barf" Rosie said trying the best she could to look away but she couldn't.

"Not going to argue with you there" Lilly said exiting the video and started browsing for a new one.

"Soo….have you told him yet?" Rosie asked with a cheeky grin starting a conversation.

"Told who what?" Lilly asked confused to her sudden outburst.

"I know you're crushing on Chris and you should tell him" Rosie said cheerfully causing Lilly eyes to grow and her face to blush red.

"What?..I am certainly not crushing on Chris and if I did what m-makes you think he'll-"

"Come on Lilly you can't be that blind to not know he likes you too" Rosie said with a really look on her face.

"He-He does?" Lilly stammered and Rosie gave her a cheesy smile. "Not that I'm into him or a-anything I-"

"You know you make it so obvious that you like him...I think you guys would be cute together" Rosie said cheerfully clapping her paws together in excitement. Lilly was so lost for words she couldn't think of any other excuse to say and it was clear as day that Rosanna knows about her likings so Lilly decided to give up the act. She did kinda needed someone other than Chris himself to talk about something like this anyways.

"Am I...am I really that obvious?" Lilly finally spoke up softly with the hint of shyness in her voice.

"Well you do blush and hide your face after he compliments you...oh and you're constantly daydreaming and staring at him...so yeah you're as obvious as spot on a cow" Rosie replied as another toothy grin widened her muzzle.

"What's a cow?" Lilly asked tilting her head to the side.

"That's not important...right now what is important is why haven't you told Chris you're crushing on him yet?" Rosie asked carefully to the sensitive topic.

"I want to tell him I really do but...everytime I get the chance I get lost in his eyes and forget what I was supposed to say...besides there's the other half that says he won't feel the same and it'll ruin things between us...the last thing I want is to lose the only close friend I have over my stupid emotions" Lilly said lowering her head and pinning her ears down.

"I don't think it'll ruin what you guys have it will strengthen...you two are good friends for a reason I'm sure he wouldn't be harsh about your feelings for him" Rosie said in an uplifting tone showing nothing but care in her eyes.

"How could you be so sure?" Lilly asked turning to Rosie for any good confirmation.

"Because Chris is not that type of guy...besides he dreams about you a lot and says your name in his sleep" Rosie said and Lilly began to smirk as her tail swayed lightly.

"Does he really?...any idea on what he dreams about?" Lilly asked, smiling harshly that she's not the only one that dreams about her best friend.

"I can't be too certain what he dreams about but I can say it's most definitely about you two doing some 'exclusive things' together" Rosie said winking at the blushing Lilly while giggling softly.

"This has to be too g-good to be true" Lilly said shaking her head denying that a human could have deeper feelings for her.

"Well okay then explain this" Rosie said hopping down off the couch pulling a portrait from behind the TV stand.

Lilly was in awe of the brilliant colorful painting that was executed perfectly. The painting took place somewhere in Jasper's beautiful flower meadows. Chris and Lilly were both lying back in the dozens of flowers connecting lips with big smiles. Lilly had on a purple diamond dog collar that read in a fancy font her name; and a bright columbine flower in her bang as the setting sun in the background dimmed the scenery. The all around art was amazing and Lilly couldn't believe he'll take the time out of his day to make such a masterpiece.

"If this doesn't tell you that he's totally into you I don't know what will" Rosie said smiling at the speechless amazed omega.

"I honestly don't know what to say" Lilly said as her mind began to live in oblivion.

"I have an idea...tell him how you feel from your heart not your mind" Rosie finished and Lilly smirked for a brief second before it faded.

"I wish it was that easy" Lilly said pinning her ears laying her head down on her paws.

"I have something that can help..I'll be right back" Rosie said hiding the painting back in its original location before running off out the doggy door.

Lilly was now all alone again which gave her plenty of time to think and daydream about what Rosanna told her. Could it be true what she told her? Does Chris really feel that same way Lilly feels about him? There's still that moment where they shared a kiss intentionally, twice, but it's hard to read how he truly felt about it. Lilly knows she definitely loved his wet soft lips on her own and something about it felt right. It's a million different reasons for what they did was wrong, some could even say they're freaks of nature. However, there's still that undiscovered nagging emotions that attracts Lilly to him like a magnet. She knows the attraction is behind crushing on Chris, it is more of an unbendable bond she wants to never break. The thought soon crept to the back of her head as a phone vibrating disrupted her thoughts.

Lilly ears perked to the sound and curiosity her weakness, got the best of her once again. She followed the sound with open ears as the phone kept vibrating until eventually she found it. The bright glow of Chris's iPhone on the nightstand gained more attention to the curious omega as she slowly walked closer. Lilly stood up on her hind legs to get a better view of the phone while both her front paws balance on the stand. It was one missed call from Remy and a few text messages that read.

'Thanks again for giving me a shoulder to cry on last night it means a lot. I was thinking maybe after work today we can go out for a few drinks. What do you think?'

Lilly let out a loud growl and gritted her teeth to the thought of that human girl replacing her spot. It'll only be a matter of time before she steals her best friend away from her. Lilly knows she'll have to attend his job along with him to avoid this happening. The running water stopped notifying Chris was finished and leaving the bathroom soon. Lilly retreated back into the living room back on the comfy couch, laying her head on a pillow in deep thought. Few minutes later Chris walked out freshly groomed and fully dressed in his work attire. Not everyday he feels this joyous about attending his job, but for some odd reason he's extremely jolly. He walked back into his bedroom to fetch his phone off the charger along with his airpods, slipping them both in his pockets. Due to the fact he has almost two hours to spare before he has to clock in for a rough day. The question is within that time what could he possibly do.

A snicker and a bright smile submerged upon his face as he walked his way into the kitchen. He casually pulled out all the ingredients he needed from the fridge to make breakfast and turned on the burners. A slick pan hovered the heating stove as he placed it down dropping slices of butter inside. Chris opened the carton picking out two freshly bought eggs, ready to crack them over the burning pan. The small hesitation came from the feeling of being watched by a certain pair of lavender eyes. He turned his head to the living room area and saw exactly what he expected; a white furred omega staring him down panting with a wagging tail.

"You know if I was any smarter I would think it's the food you're so roddy about...or maybe I'm the prey hm?" Chris teased half smirking at the drooling overwhelmed omega. Lilly blushed a seeable red and quickly fixed her facial expression, shyly turning away from the embarrassment of being caught staring.

"I...sorry" Lilly said in a soft delicate tone, pinning her ears down as if she was in big trouble.

"Hey Lilly you know I was just teasing right?" Chris asked starting to become worried about her sudden sad demeanor.

"Yeah it's not that...I just…*sigh*...I don't know anymore" Lilly sighed out of frustration curling herself in a ball on the couch.

Chris put the eggs back in the carton, lowered the burners, and smoothly walked over to Lilly sitting next to her. She didn't budge out of her tight curled ball or even looked at him. It seemed like she was at war with herself, not knowing whether to attack or defend her emotions. He put a hand on her lower back, ran his hand up to her muzzle, and caressed her face in his palms. This forced an eye connection between the two as both their hearts began beating faster. Lilly lips were stuck dried shut, unaware if she could say any words in the spotlight. The gushing feeling she has right now is so frustrating and she doesn't have an excuse to why she can't confess that to her human friend. It's like all the functioning parts of the white furred omega's brain shuts down and let the insecurities control everything.

"Hey..talk to me...what's wrong?" Chris emphasized in a sweet caring tone, showing that he's willing to listen.

"Have you ever felt...mushy inside?...you know whenever a special someone comes around?" Lilly asked in a soft voice hoping he can relate because if not it'll be an awkward moment.

"I don't know..it depends on how special this someone is" Chris remarked, and he could tell he wasn't helping because Lilly began to frown again. "But...I have felt a little strange inside about a special someone before" Chris quoted, hiding the obvious in his voice on who it is.

"Well I've been feeling that a lot lately and it's nagging me with everyday that passes...it's like I'm never who I am anymore and it feels weird..but..nice at the same time" Lilly confessed unable to hide her redder blush, especially when Chris gave her a cheesy look.

"W-Why are you looking at me like that?" Lilly asked boiling inside with an ocean full of anxiety.

"Lilllllyyyy are you crushing on someone?" Chris teased with a cheesy smile which made her blush even harder.

"I uh..I..no...ughh why do you do this to me?" Lilly asked covering her muzzle with both her paws trying to hide the embarrassment.

"You are...aren't you?" Chris asked playfully wiggling his eyebrows at her moving closer, and at this point Lilly felt like her heart was about to explode. "Who's the lucky guy ehh?...is it someone I know?" Chris asked in a charming tone, but deep down he was a little hurt and didn't know why.

"I think you might know him...very well actually" Lilly said gradually increasing the smile on her muzzle while staring in his eyes.

"I could perhaps give you a few pointers and I'm dying to know so tell me...who is he?" Chris asked in a tone of suspension, unaware he's building up a trap for incoming jealousy if she reveals who's her crush.

"I'll tell you only if you promise not to be mad at me" Lilly said uncovering her face as the nervousness began to kick in.

"Why would I be mad?" Chris asked curious to the seriousness in her tone.

"I don't know..I mean you cou-...shit...why is this so hard!" Lilly scolded herself, showing signs of despair.

"You're crushing on a turtle aren't you?..I should've known you guys would make a great couple" Chris said executing the perfect joke to turn Lilly's nervousness into laughter.

"No it isn't a turtle this time I promise hahaha" Lilly laughed out, buying herself some time with the amusement to overshadow her insecurities.

"Excuse me..did you say this time?" Chris laughed raising his brow making sure he heard correctly.

"I might have forced a few turtles into marriage" Lilly giggled out playfully roaming her big lavender eyes around like she's innocent.

"I feel sympathy for those poor guys who went through dozens of corny jokes about their own species" Chris said chuckling and Lilly playfully wacked him with her tail.

"They loved my jokes for your information and in fact I told shell-arious ones!" Lilly replied, unable to contain her laughter at an incredibly corny joke.

"Ugh kill me now" Chris joked pretending to shoot himself in the head with a goofy expression.

"Be careful what you wish for" Lilly growled out playfully, demonstrating her long fangs grinning widely.

"Two can play at that" Chris said holding up a finger to emphasize to wait a second he has something planned.

Chris turned around to his coffee table, pulled the miniature drawer, and took out fake vampire fangs placing them in his mouth. He turned back to Lilly hissing and she jolted back pinning her ears. Lilly was in a mixture of confused and frightened until she realized how stupid looking the fake fangs were. They were obviously way too big for his mouth and it made him really goofy looking.

"Hahaha what is that?" Lilly laughed out at the ridiculously big fangs in his mouth.

"What don't you like it?" Chris asked performing a charming smile to advertise the new appearance.

"Now that you've asked it does kinda suits you well" Lilly said giggling adorably while admiring his toothy look.

"Are you saying you find me attractive?" Chris asked raising his eyebrows in suspension and Lilly's blush became noticeable.

"Would it be weird if I do?" Lilly asked in such a timid tone afraid of being told the worst by her friend. Everyone her age already thinks she's some type of freak, the last thing she wants is Chris to think the same.

"Just because you aren't certain that something is normal doesn't always makes it weird...it's only weird to those who don't understand so who cares if it's unusual...all that matters is that it makes you who you are" Chris said in a caring tone putting a small smile on her muzzle.

"Sorry you lost me halfway with those huge fangs in your mouth" Lilly joked filling the room with spontaneous laughter. Chris stood from the couch and put one airpod in his ear after taking the fake fangs out sitting them on the coffee table.

"So which part did those little perky outlaw ears hear then?" Chris asked grabbing his truck keys off the hook, whistling for Rosanna to come back inside.

"I heard the part that was important...I can't express enough how much you mean to me...Chris" Lilly said sweetly with a big smile on her muzzle as her tail swayed smoothly. Chris repaid the omega with a smile of his own as he sat back down on the couch next to Lilly.

"Okay back to our main suspense..who are you crushing on?" Chris asked bringing the subject back up and Lilly felt like a deer stuck in headlights.

"Umm….yeah about that...uh...if I tell you promise me it won't change anything between us?" Lilly asked shyly with a sense of worryness in her voice.

"Lilly what we have is a forever bond...your best friend is always going to be here to hold you remember?" Chris asked attaching a charming smile on his face that uplifted some of Lilly's nervousness

"Right.." Lilly said performing an uncontrollable smile.

"Now who is this guy so I can roughen up a little bit for being irresponsible enough to steal my best friend" Chris said half joking which resulted in a small giggle out of Lilly.

"You really have no clue don't you?" Lilly asked to how oblivious Chris is being right now, and that's so much for being obvious that she likes him.

"Clue of what?" Chris asked making her valid point.

"Chris you do realize the guy...the g-guy you would be hurting is….your-"

Lilly's anxious stuttering was gracefully halted when Rosie the cheerful puppy came clumsily running inside with a toy in her mouth. This startled them both into confusion, gaining the attention of the duo. Chris locked the doggy door close as Rosanna hopped on the couch next to Lilly and placed the toy beside her.

"Rosie again?...where are you finding all these other toys?" Chris asked about the odd findings of his loveable cocker spaniel.

"Thank you Rosie that's very kind of you" Lilly said awkwardly accepting the gift of an incredibly chewed up stolen toy.

"Did she give that to you?" Chris asked as a smile began to creep on his face.

"Did you tell him?" Rosie asked panting as her tongue hung out her muzzle with a wagging tail.

"No" Lilly replied and Chris gave her a clueless look.

"She didn't?" Chris asked confused.

"I mean yes she did but-"

"So you didn't tell him?" Rosie asked as her excitement started to calm down.

"I tried to tell him until you came barging in" Lilly exclaimed a little upset that another chance was blown.

"What is going on here?" Chris asked as his level of suspense was at an all time high.

"Whoops sorry" Rosie apologized with her tail tucked slightly frightened.

"Nothing!" Lilly quickly said cleaning up her expression and before Chris can piece together anything his watch beeped.

"Dammit I don't have time to make breakfast anymore...we have to go now Lilly" Chris said walking into the kitchen, putting all the cooking pans away, and organic ingredients back in the fridge.

"Yes!..any other day on the job I can't wait!" Lilly exclaimed excitedly furiously wagging her tail hopping down from the couch to follow him into the kitchen.

"Woah woah slow your roll there sidekick...I didn't say you could come to work with me" Chris said closing the fridge and grabbing his pre-made coffee on the counter top.

"Bu-What?..come onnn why not!?...you heard your leader I was a great companion he likes me!" Lilly explained disheartened her friend is denying the well assisted help she's providing. Chris kneeled down to her height staring into those big lavender eyes and said.

"My 'boss' does like you and I myself would love to have your accompany but you did sneak there after all...AND...here to my home during your morning workouts that you promised your dad-"

"Let me stop you right there because I happened to have already talked to him" Lilly said in a matter-of-factly tone raising her snout like a noble queen. Ignoring the other half of what Chris said as well.

"You talked to him?...and about what exactly?" Chris asked chuckling with a hint of sarcasm knowing it's probably another one of her schemes.

"While you were chatting with my dad earlier after our little incident..I might've happened to be nearby to hear the juicy parts of the conversation" Lilly said smirking mischievously swaying her tail.

"Oh yeah what did you hear?" Chris asked not wanting to walk directly into a trap.

"I know that he's giving you shared custody of me" Lilly said grinning widely and Chris eyes widened a little.

"So you were eavesdropping on us little devil" Chris chuckled softly and Lilly excitement suddenly increased.

"You mean it's true!?" Lilly exclaimed practically prancing around in pure happiness confusing her human friend.

"Wait so you didn't know?..what?..how did-"

"Oh just shut up meat brain and let me explain to you how righteous I am..okay it all happened late last night after you decided to let me sleep with you..." Lilly trailed off for dramatic effect to her flashback.

Flashback...

Winston had his paw over his mate's mouth, struggling to drag the resisting wolf away from harming a human in the most painful way possible. Eve was clawing and growling harshly using all the strength possible to break free of her mate's grasp slightly prevailing. Afraid of his mate possibly escaping, he had no choice but to knock her unconscious. Winston regained his breath and gently laid his mate on the ground before sitting on his hind legs. Eve's muzzle was met with a sympathetic kiss, feeling the guilt sink into his soul for his unbearable actions. The black clouds uncovered the moon and made partly cloudy skies revealing half of the bright shining stars. He gazed up at the sky taking in a deep breath before lowering his head to see himself in a puddle. Not only did he see a battered wolf in the image of himself, he noticed a pair of lavender eyes behind him.

"Come on out Lilly.." Winston camly said restraining any sign of irritation that she had witnessed his abuse.

Lilly walked towards her father with her tail tucked afraid of what he might do or say to her. She sat down next to him at a respectable distance swallowing her tongue whole.

"D-Dad?..did you...d-did you kill mom?" Lilly asked shakily feeling the urge to cry, not only for what happened to her mother, but for what he could do to her next.

"I would and could never...she's...sleeping" Winston said looking down at his frightened daughter who didn't give him eye contact. Silence fell upon the two as the crickets and the night winds were the only active sounds.

"Lilly...your mother saw you sleeping with Chris and tried to kill him...if I wasn't able to stop her in time we would all probably be mourning his death as we speak" Winston said clearing up the confusion and Lilly's heart instantly began beating faster. She forgot all about what her parents would think if they were to get caught sleeping together.

"I-..dad I can explain..-"

"There's no need Lilly...I understand how close you two are...I know he's the motive that keeps you energetic and safe..whenever he's around you I can't even recognize my own daughter anymore...somehow he found a soft spot in your heart and unlocked a side I've never seen before….Chris is as important to me as he is to you and I want you to understand that I have accepted him into our pack...he's done nothing but prevailed himself to become a great alpha...however...your mother...along with most others in the pack haven't bought into him fully yet...Chris still has much to prove to them and more to show that he belongs" Winston finished, returning his gaze upwards to the swaying trees and motionless moon.

"I understand dad" Lilly said sounding as if she's disappointed about what she's heard. Winston glanced down at her to see a deep frown.

"Why the downed face?" Winston asked using his paw to lift the omega's muzzle higher forcing eye contact.

"It's nothing...nothing important" Lilly shrugged off, but her dad wasn't buying into her stubborn lies.

"Lilly...you're my daughter...anything you have to say will always be important" Winston said in a deep crackled but calming tone.

"Okay..well um...it's about Crane...I'm afraid he may hurt all of us..or maybe even worse..I've been having nightmares about the second war since the surprise attack and just hours ago I had another bad dream about it...I watched all of you be slaughtered including Chris...he died in front of me and I'm scared all of this could come true" Lilly said unable to hold in her tears at this point as rivers strolled down her muzzle hitting the moist ground.

"Is that why you wanted to sleep with him?" Winston asked wrapped his arms around his weeping daughter, comforting her sniffled cries as she nodded her head.

"Dad..I-I...I really don't-don't want to lose him" Lilly sobbed, sniffling away more tears from her foggy lavenders.

"I know...neither do I" Winston said strictly lost for advice, not knowing what to tell Lilly to comfort her current mood. "If you don't want to lose him...your alpha training should be personal to his well being...be the one to make sure he isn't gone or lost" Winston finished in a uplifting tone

"But why do-do we have to fight in the first p-place?" Lilly sniffled, baffled by the fact they're fighting for nothing but stupid territory and pride.

"That's just the way things are...there's nothing you and I can do to change that" Winston explained telling Lilly the sad truth she's used to hearing.

Winston could read the expressions on Lilly's snout that she didn't want to believe, or was too ignorant to accept that rival packs created conflict for generations. Back when Winston himself was a pup, he remembers witnessing war himself, and how much it scared him. The night both his parents gave specific instructions on retreating south to Jasper right before they were killed still lingers in his mind as an adult. Thinking about all the 'what ifs' or 'could've done' to save his parents, but in reality now he feels their death is in vain. Fortunately, during Winston's big stealthy escape, he was able to save his puppyhood crush who eventually grew up to become the most feared mate. Winston knew how war feels on a personal level; and how it feels to lose someone you really care about. He didn't have any other family members he knew about than his parents, so when they've became deceased, Eve was all left of the family. Chris has become Lilly's most visited happy place and probably was the perfect change she wanted in her life. The last thing Winston wants is for his baby girl to experience the same emotional pain he did as a pup by losing someone you cared for the most. Winston came up with a quick idea but it would have to take his mate to come to an agreement first.

"You head off back to sleep now...I'm going to have a little chat with your mother when she wakes in a few minutes" Winston demanded in a soothing tone and Lilly only nodded before slowly walking away dragging her tail.

After waiting for a few minutes Winston dipped his hand in the puddle, swiping water at his unconscious mate. The water splashed in Eve's face instantly waking her with shivers and utter confusion. A split second various questions were about to be asked until a memory hit her like a train on steroids. Eve growled and snarled ready to kill crouching lower into a running stance. Winston stepped in front of her willing to defend Chris from his mate even if it involves him having to fight.

"This doesn't concern you honey just move aside and let me have a little chat with our human companion" Eve said in the most hypnotizing heartfelt voice ever along with a wide grin. It's one of Eve's infamous tactics to mislead you into believing she won't cause any harm.

"I cannot let you harm him..he is the future to our pack" Winston firmly said standing his ground, not intimidated to witness his mate's common aggression.

"Move Now!" Eve ordered gritting her teeth to show she means business, but Winston saw all this before.

"Think about all the damage you would do if you kill him we need him!" Winston said trying to talk sense into his over furious mate.

"How are you okay with him sleeping with our daughter she's only a pup!...and he's human!" Eve growled out adding fuel to her own firing rage.

"If it means for her to become a great alpha then so be it..she's grown a unpredictable bond with Chris and he challenges her to become great...Lilly is capable to making her own decisions and won't be a pup anymore in the next two months" Winston explained to the denying Eve that still haven't regained her insanity.

"She'll make her own decisions when I've decided she can and that's not a day after I'm dead!" Eve growled quickly nudging her mate out the way to the ground while running full speed to the unaware human.

"Grandpups!" Winston suddenly shouted as his last response stopping Eve in her tracks creating a tiny cloud of dirt.

"What?" Eve asked whipping her head around for an answer. Winston slowly stood up shaking the mud off of him and said in a crackled voice.

"I know how much you want to be a grandmother for both our daughters...and if you take Chris away that will never happen" Winston explained, which grew a confused face from his mate.

"Are you saying…" Eve paused holding her breath to the unknown relationship her daughter has with a human.

"Most certainly...they're not much aware of it yet but I'm sure eventually they will confess...and when they do it'll be a life changer for all of us" Winston replied smoothly with a small toothy grin.

"But they're...he's-"

"I know I know...I couldn't quite wrap my head around the concept either but I'm willing to accept it if it makes our little girl happy" Winston interrupted adding in his same response to reality.

"I think I'm gonna faint" Eve said becoming light-headed wobbling from side to side losing her balance. Winston caught her quickly, helping whatever motor skills she had left.

"Take an easy now let's at least discuss what we should do first before you go caribou land on me" Winston said holding his mate upright from falling on the ground.

"This can't be true Lilly can't have...a...thing...for him this completely disbounds our promise" Eve quote shaking her head in disbelief to how this could even happen.

"No it doesn't...you said and I quote when our daughters were born...whomever our daughters chooses shall be-"

"Shall be their choice but I never said it's okay with a human for caribou sake!" Eve nearly yelled from the top of her lungs that her mate is holding a promise against her will.

"Ah well in that case you never said it had to be a wolf either" Winston said grinning widely, which made Eve eye twitch at his sarcasm.

"...*deep sigh*...look...I've been watching them for sometime now and the bond they have with each other is...its magical...seeing smiles instantly appear on both their faces when they spot each other is a genuine attraction...it reminds me of us" Winston said chuckled moving closer to his mate several inches apart from her lips.

"Remember after I found you hidden in that cave starving?...a squirrel would have carried you up it's home tree and stored you for winter" Winston joked receiving a few small giggles from his mate.

"I wasn't that skinny my dear...but yes...I remember like it was yesterday" Eve said as her smile slowly began to fade.

"My parents took you in as their own pup..and each day you and I emotions grew stronger and stronger the more we hung out...our bond became unbreakable then a vow was exchanged...remember what we said?" Winston asked smirking and Eve rolled her eyes trying her hardest to suppress a smile.

"We would never be apart under any circumstance and as long as day comes after night…"

"We'll wake up to kiss at the twilight of dawn" They both spontaneously said with increasing smiles.

The two shared a very passionate meaningful kiss before separating their key to affection gazing in each other's eyes. Nearby a glowing pair of eavesdropping lavender eyes spying on her parents concerned about everything they've said thus far. After almost puking to her parents kissing, thoughts began pounding her mind. Are they referring to that feeling she has towards Chris? What the heck does it mean? And does her parents actually want her to be happily married with offspring? That surprised her more than the fact they made up some corny promise as pups. Especially since Kate wasn't mentioned not once during their little debate.

"Let's not ruin that...thing..you called it between Chris and Lilly...we should wait it out and see if something's developing" Winston suggested half smiling at his mate, before she placed him in a quick hug.

"Thing?...what thing?" Lilly whispered to herself.

"Or maybe...we should give him shared custody of Lilly?...then we'll be sure if anything's developing" Eve suggested and Winston had his eyes widened.

"Yes!" Lilly shouted excitedly in the form of a whisper, but it still instinctively caught her parents attention. Lilly widened her eyes covering her mouth and sinking lower to the ground to not be spotted.

"Who's there!" Eve glared in a low growl standing in a defensive position.

Lilly cringed a feared expression tucking her tail running away back to the den in hopes her parents didn't see her. When she successfully made it back inside she was panting, checking behind to make sure they didn't follow. Lilly saw nothing but a gloomy moon partly hiding behind the clouds, and dark swaying trees down the slope in the distance. She took a deep soft sigh of relief and turned around to be face to face with Kate. Lilly jumped back startled nearly tripping clumsily over a small rock in the den before catching her balance.

"Where were you?" Kate demanded beaming a glare as if she was her mother.

"Oh wait didn't I tell you?" Lilly asked puzzled while walking past her.

"No..you didn't tell me anything" Kate confirmed raising her brow, shifting her body around as her sister walked passed.

"Then that must mean it's none of your business" Lilly said annoyed walking over to the sleeping Chris without looking back at her. Kate sighed also annoyed now from her sister's common comebacks.

"I'm not trying to be your enemy here I just want you to be safe" Kate admitted in a soft but serious tone sitting down on her hind legs.

"You do realize I'm not the only one missing right?" Lilly asked avoiding her sister's lectures.

"Yeah I did..mom and dad probably went searching for you again" Kate said as if this is an everyday thing for them.

"For the last time I can take care of myself" Lilly said bluntly, stopping next to the peacefully sleeping human.

"I don't recall being chased by dozens of bears and swarms of killer bees is taking care of yourself" Kate brought up with a 'are you serious' facial expression.

"Well I made it out alive both those times didn't I?...and those killer bees honey was so delicious..you could've tried it yourself if you weren't such a scaredy squirrel" Lilly said licking her lips to the thought of the honey she stole.

"Lilly you were covered in bumps for two weeks!" Kate said irritated her sister always finds a route away from the obvious truth.

"And it was so worth it..now I'm the only wolf to ever steal honey and survive a vicious swarm attack that's so awesome!" Lilly squealed excitedly which caused Chris to stir and turn in his sleep.

Lilly and Kate watched him yawn while adjusting his pillow before quickly dozing back to sleep.

"Listen...I know I've been kinda bossy lately-"

"Kinda?" Lilly remarked.

"Just listen" Kate quickly said with seriousness in her tone while moving closer to sit in front of Lilly.

"Yes I've been kinda bossy but it was always for your greater good...I don't want to lose the only sister I care about and all these near death situations you go through scares me...a lot" Kate said shakily frowning and pinning her ears down to symbolize she's worried.

Lilly discovered the saddened emotions and body language from Kate and decided to quit the sassy tail act.

"Kate can't you understand this is who I am?...I don't want to change for some boring life...I love the danger...the wild...the extraxtrionary...what if I told you there's much more to this world than being an alpha and marrying some asshole?" Lilly asked.

"Hey Humphrey is no asshole" Kate said offensively but widened her eyes blushing that she told her sister her choice in marriage.

"Hate to break it ya sis but you can't marry Humphrey he's definitely no alpha" Lilly explained and Kate shook her head confused on what she meant by that.

"What is being an alpha has to do with anything?" Kate questioned wanting to hear more.

"I'm surprised you don't know this by now since you love rubbing your privilege in my face as future pack leader" Lilly said dumbing down her acknowledgement of what she's growing up to become soon.

"Lilly just tell me" Kate said being annoyed once again by her smart comments.

"You can't marry Humphrey just simply as that" Lilly said in nearly a heartless tone, ever so more to get her to shut up already.

"But that can't be true mom told me I can marry anyone I want after the war" Kate said in a firm tone hoping this isn't true.

"Yeah but she left out one big important detail...the eastern packs are joining forces with our pack for this stupid war AND YOU the gullible alpha must marry one of thier alpha males to confirm it...therefore it will not and can't be Humphrey" Lilly said unamused like all of this is boring news to her. Kate felt like the world was spinning around her in a deep whirlpool of lies, but she fought off her sister's words and took them as her just being mean.

"There's no way it's true you're just saying that to cover up the fact you're a very irresponsible omega and want me to join your side nice try" Kate said upset that Lilly would tell such a lie that can hurt a future she plans to have with Humphrey.

"I know I lie about a lot of different things but this isn't one of them..mom and dad have sugar coated lies to you this whole time so you can be the best jolly alpha with no distractions...all of this is caribou shit you should try to be free from a pack and live your own life to marry whoever you want" Lilly said attempting to give some advice to Kate but she wasn't buying into it.

"Lilly it's a pack tradition I can't just abandon my duty for some lie you're making up...besides I'll be breaking something that's been happening for generations if I do" Kate explained trying her best to ignore the first half of Lilly's sentence; but it's that nagging thought that says she's telling the truth.

"Wow mom and dad has seriously brainwashed you...if it was a tradition to tongue bathe porcupines daily you would obey for nothing more than royalty respect?" Lilly asked not wanting to talk about the laws & tradition crap but someone has to break the truth to her.

"Come on don't be ridiculous" Kate said rolling her eyes.

"This whole pack is ridiculous...you can follow these lies and laws to this pre-planned pack while I'll be out exploring the world...Chris and I will be making meaningful memories after this uncalled for war you just wait" Lilly said nonchalantly with a big proud giant smile on her face.

"You want to leave with the human?...I dunno if thats a good idea I mean can he even protect you?" Kate asked turing an admiring glare to the sleeping human with a raised brow of uncertainty.

"Yes he definitely can he's done it many times already for your information...he's my brave shining knight and could kill anything" Lilly said gloating about her best friend, and on cue a loud sloppy snore from Chris caught both their attention.

"So that's your brave shining knight?" Kate teased grinning helplessly as Lilly pawed her muzzle.

"Yes...uh..yes he is...and whether you like it or not" Lilly said laying down comfortably next to him squeezing closer for warmth.

"Lilly you know this isn't right" Kate said trying her best to talk her sister out of this.

"If it's right you should by now it's wrong to mr" Lilly shot back ignorant to Kate's lectures.

"Ughhhh you're so frustrating sometimes if he gets you seriously hurt or worse just know I told you so" Kate said angrily giving up trotting back to the original spot she was sleeping inside the den.

"And when dad or mom finally break the truth to you after alpha school just know I told you so" Lilly shot back matching the same angry intensity.

Lilly rolled her eyes at her sister's remarks, scooted closer to nuzzle Chris's face, before laying her head on his chest. Lilly turned to look at Kate and she was wrapped up in a small ball putting herself to sleep. The omega closed her eyes playing back what her sister said about them. Kate doesn't know Chris and the wonders he has done for Lilly thus far. Simply hunting for the pack and almost beating a deadly pack leader wasn't enough to prove himself. She would never understand how it feels to be the underdog that no one believes in. Lilly thought that is. Kate has had everything handed to her on a silver platter from her parents. Until someone can have the same amount of pressure on them like Chris does, she doesn't want to hear a word from anyone else.

"Nothing will ever happen to us we're the perfect team" Lilly whispered softly in his ears that formed a small smile on his face.

"No you're not" Kate quickly teased.

"Shut up and freeze yourself to sleep alpha..I have a human to keep me warm" Lilly teased poking her tongue getting an annoyed sigh from Kate.

"Whatever" Kate said squeezing herself in a tighter ball.

End of flashback….

"And that's how I know!" Lilly explained to him with the widest smile on her face as her tail wagged rapidly in the passenger seat.

"Okay let me get this straight...you woke up to find your parents and Kate gone..sniffed out their scent to some legendary abandoned cave of super wolves and found them all tied up ready to be tortured with sharp bones...but oddly somehow you managed to use your newly untold fighting moves to defeated not five but ten wolves at once IN THE COMPLETE DARK and freed your family?" Chris asked chuckling totally not believing a single word she said.

"Yep and my award for saving them was giving you shared custody isn't this fantastic!" Lilly squealed excitedly hugging Chris lovingly which caused him to serve on the road.

"Lilly stop it I'm driving!" Chris said trying to maintain his vehicle balance on the road, and Lilly immediately backed off of him with widened eyes.

"Sorry" Lilly apologized from the unexpectancy of reckless driving.

"It's okay….um..oh yeah...tell me...why didn't you wake me if your family was in trouble I could've helped?..we are a team remember?" Chris asked chuckling looking back and forward at her then at the road.

"Because this job wasn't suited for sidekicks...I had to do this on my own" Lilly said staring out the passenger window at the cars driving by.

"Don't you believe in me?" Chris asked pretending to be sad and Lilly turned to him.

"Yes I do believe in you...it's just something's you have to do on your own" Lilly said sounding as if there was a deeper meaning behind the joke that grew a small silence in his truck. Chris nodded and stopped his truck before putting it in park rolling his window down.

"Well next time at least warn me...just in case" Chris said playfully messing up her hair causing her to laugh.

"Welcome to McDonald's may I take your order please?" The lady over the mic said.

"Yes may I get a Sausage Burrito and McGriddle with strawberry jelly...oh and a medium orange juice please?" Chris asked poking his head slightly out the window to communicate with the employee.

"Okay will that be all for you today?" She asked as the price popped up on the screen. Before Chris could say anything Lilly started whining, licking her lips while looking at all the breakfast sandwiches on the screen menu. Chris smirked after rolling his eyes at the pleading omega saying.

"Make that 2 McGriddles and sausage burritos please" Chris said making Lilly's tail flutter rapidly as her tongue hung out her muzzle.

"Alright $9.96" She said and Chris put his truck back in drive to pull up to the window.

"Don't get used to this" Chris teased and Lilly giggled at his response.

"I already have" Lilly said smiling widely.

"$9.96 sir-...there goes that wolf again I told you about!" The guy said pointing to Lilly in disbelief she's riding with him.

"I bet he doesn't know I could talk to!" Lilly said loudly enough for anyone to hear within several feet.

"Shut it" Chris scolded her only to make himself look weird as the employee gave him a confused glance.

"Ummm...yeah found her in the back of my trunk now she's my good ol pal" Chris grinned while playfully petting her head harshly to mess up her fur again.

"Hey I just fixed my hair you fucking ass!" Lilly exclaimed upset but it was still too hard for her to hold in another laugh.

"Did you at least name her?" The guy asked completely fascinated.

"Miss Furbulous because she's such a cutie isn't she" Chris said playfully pinching her cheeks and she tried to snap at his hand but he was too quick and dodge.

"She sure is haha have you taken her to the vet?" He asked as Chris handed him his credit card.

"Actually on the way right now" Chris said smiling taking his card back along with his receipt.

"Vet?" Lilly asked puzzled on what it meant and was somewhat frightened because it sounds scary.

"That's so cool man I wish I could have a wolf as a pet" He chuckled handing Chris the breakfast bag in a daze at the white furred omega.

"Correction he's my pet" Lilly said poking her head around Chris only for him to stuff a breakfast burrito in her mouth. Lilly was about to spit it out, but it was fairly too delicious and she couldn't resist chewing instead.

"I wouldn't recommend getting one..this fluffy white fur ball here is enough for you to want to stand on the railroads and wait for a train to hit you" Chris joked rubbing Lilly's back as she chowed down on the breakfast burrito.

"I could probably doubt that but you have a good day sir" He laughed before closing the window and returning his attention to the register screen.

Chris pleasantly drove away making a right turn and stopped at a red light. He turned his eyes to the feeding omega to see she was staring at him with salsa all around her muzzle. A quick laugh escaped him of Lilly's funny looking appearance as he returned his eyes back to the road. Eventually she caught on to what he was laughing at when she saw a view of herself in the side mirror. Lilly licked her muzzle clean and roamed her lavender eyes out the passenger window. When she spotted giant colorful contraptions, she blossomed with excitement.

"Chris what is that!" Lilly exclaimed fanning her tail as her tongue dangled from her mouth.

"That there is called the State Fair...it's loads of fun activities and different wild rides you could get on if you want to feel nauseous" Chris explained watching a group of hot females cross the street chattering among themselves.

"Can we go there please please pleaseeee!" Lilly said practically begging whipping her head to him for approval.

As expected he didn't respond and she noticed him staring at something or someone. Lilly followed his gaze and saw he was checking out a group of human girls passing by. Pent aggression built up inside of Lilly made the harmless omega want to draw blood. It's not often a bomb ignites in her head and explodes, but when it does, it's normally because of her sister. Nevertheless, this ticking bomb emotion was new to Lilly. She didn't entirely know why she felt this way, but she did know her best friend admiring other girls doesn't feel right. Lilly wants him all to herself and is planning to keep it that way forever. The thought of being replaced by someone else makes Lilly heart freeze over. Therefore under every circumstance she plans to keep him away from other girls. Suddenly a loud growl escaped her muzzle at the thought of four of those human girls all over him. That eventually broke Chris staring at an concerned look at the upset omega.

"What's wrong?" Chris asked the growling omega who tried to clean up her act, but her facial expressions still showed otherwise.

"I...uh..seen a bird..I uh hate them" Lilly quickly and effortlessly lied making Chris chuckle.

"Are you sure that was a bird because I sworn someone was being jealous" Chris cheesily teased wiggling his eyebrows at the now blushing omega.

"Psh no I wasn't jealous of those girls at all" Lilly denied avoiding eye contact staring out the passenger window.

"I didn't say anything about you being jealous of those girls so that means you were" Chris teased bopping her wet nose making Lilly eyes widened that she fell directly in his trap.

"I was-...I mean"

"You're so adorable when you're jealous...you think the bad human girls are going to steal your best friend" Chris teased in a playful baby voice, which made Lilly burn inside from embarrassment.

"Ugh I hate you so much" Lilly managed to say through her puffing red cheeks from his teasing.

"But I'm not a bird?" Chris joked making her laugh through the embarrassment of being caught jealous.

"Oh shut up" Lilly giggled out playfully at his joke.

"You know you love me" Chris grinned at her before driving again when the stop light turned green.

"Do I?...well maybe I do if you aren't so freaking annoying" Lilly teased back and Chris had an open shocked mouth.

"Look who's talking I'm the annoying one?...I'm the annoying one!" Chris chuckled tickling her rib cage with one hand causing everlasting joy to fill the truck.

"Hahahahahaha okay okay sorry hahaha stop it" Lilly laughed squirming in her seat as tears leaked out of her eyes. Chris showed mercy and stopped tickling her laughing among himself that he won once again.

"What's the score now human 2 omega 1?" Chris asked teasing the giggling white furred omega who was adjusting herself properly back in the seat.

"Don't worry it'll be tied again I'm great with surprises" Lilly grinned at him with a devilishly stare that made him feel a little uneasy.

"Uh...is it too late to take it back?" Chris asked pretending to coward down in fear as a evil giggle escaped Lilly.

"Oh you're beyond too late...so in the meantime how about some music?" Lilly asked in a sudden cheerful voice pressing the button to turn on the radio. A song by the Chainsmokers called 'Do You Mean' played instantly getting positive feedback from the omega.

"Yes!..I love this song!" Lilly exclaimed nodding her head adorably once again to the beat making Chris laugh.

"When did you become a Chainsmokers fan?" Chris asked the dancing Lilly in the passenger seat.

"I heard this song on your iPhone earlier YouTube Music I think it's called...its my favorite now sing it with me!" Lilly happily said doing some weird type of funny dance while singing the lyrics. All Chris could do now was laugh, Lilly is truly an unbelievably quick learner for trouble.

"Omegas" Chris said rolling his eyes laughing before joining in to sing with her.

7 Minutes Later…

Chris drove into the veterinary wildlife clinic parking in the surprisingly half empty parking lot. It was questionable if it was even open today, or else no one had sick animals which is always good. That also means Lilly's small check up and paperwork should be simple to manage out. Most people would say having a wolf as a pet isn't exactly healthy for a home to the extent that they're wild animals. Worse case scenario is the clinic could take her away from him to some type of rehabilitation center. Fortunately, Chris has everything planned just in case the clinic wouldn't allow him to care for the omega as his own. Lilly exited the truck first, roaming around sniffling all sorts of different new things. Chris grabbed a few of his things and exited his truck to see Lilly sniffling a half eaten Hersey bar on the ground. His eyes widened to the size of the sun as he ran over to where she was to steal the candy bar tossing it in the street.

"Hey what's the big deal I was gonna eat that!" Lilly exclaimed slightly upset he tossed away from what seemed like a tasty treat.

"Lilly listen to me and listen to me very closely" Chris said in a serious tone kneeling down to her height giving eye contact. Lilly pinned her ears down from his tone and felt like she made him mad again.

"Did I-..Did I do something wrong?" Lilly asked innocently saddened by her best friends sudden seriousness.

"What you almost ate was chocolate and you should NEVER NEVER EVER EVER eat chocolate okay?" Chris asked showing that this isn't one of his pranks to scare her. Lilly nodded in confusion but couldn't help to ask anyway.

"W-Why can't I eat chocolate?" Lilly asked, staring down the chocolate in the street as if it was a murderer; which in this case scenario is could be.

"A lot of bad things could happen and you could possibly even d-..."

Lilly tilted her head sideways curiously unsure what she was doing was wrong. The innocent confused daze on her face encouraged Chris to not go full out on the truth about what could happen. He didn't want to scare the omega about something he could easily make avoidable to her access.

"Let's just say it's extremely toxic for wolves and just promise me you'll stay away from it" Chris said putting his hand on both her shoulders and Lilly gave a small nod.

"I promise" Lilly said in confirmation with a promising smile.

"Okay good..now" Chris said standing up checking the time on his watch.

"Let's practice some of what I told you on the way here just in case" Chris suggested and Lilly happily clapped her paws.

"Yes I love lying let's do this" Lilly said ready for the small pop quiz.

"It isn't lying...it's...bending the truth...a little" Chris corrected and she gave him a cheesy grin.

"Kinda like what you're doing now?" Lilly teased giggling and he nodded.

"Precisely Lillian...okay first question...what will you do if they say wolves don't make great pets?" Chris asked.

"That humans would probably make better pets instead" Lilly joked as if that was indeed the clear answer.

"Lilly" Chris whined that she isn't taking this seriously.

"Okay okay sorry jeez you're a tough bone to chew" Lilly said fixing up the soft giggles into a sad whimpering pup clinging next to his leg.

"Perfect...okay how about if they say wolves are dangerous?" Chris asked and Lilly adorably rolled over on her belly begging for attention.

"Haha that's really good...okay-"

Chris was interrupted by his watch beeping to notify him that he only had an hour left. He quickly picked up Lilly in his arms which made her squeal from his surprising strength.

"I thought we were-"

"Not much time we have to go now" Chris said opening the doors walking through to be greeted by the common smell of animals.

Chris casually walked up to an empty receptionist desk tapping the bell that made Lilly's ears perk from the pitched sound. Lilly tilted her head at the weird object and pressed the bell herself for the ringing sound.

"I'll be right there sir" A woman said somewhere within the office. The curious omega began playing with the bell ringing it numerous times grinning widely.

"Stop it" Chris said attempting to swat her paw away only to accidentally press it himself after she dodged.

"Sir I said I'll be here in a moment" The woman said sitting down in the seat somewhat upset she was rushed.

"That wasn't me-"

Lilly smiled upwards at Chris giggling he was caught instead of her in an unexplainable position. Chris gave her a playful mean mugging glare before putting Lilly down by his leg, preparing himself to sign paperwork.

"Sorry um I'm here for a regular check up" Chris said to the woman and she started typing on the computer.

"Check up for Rosanna?" She asked blindly typing away reading from the screen.

"No I have a new member to the family" Chris said motioning his eyes lower to the ground. The women leaned forward in her chair over the desk to spot the white furred omega.

"A wolf?...as a pet?" She asked in a unsure tone at the suspension of a usual pet.

"Yes I want to adopt" Chris said smiling as Lilly played her act whining adorably and wagging her tail rapidly.

"Okay...just signed these and someone will be with you shortly" She said handing him the paperwork that was much expected.

"Alright thanks" Chris nodded before walking over to the empty waiting area with Lilly following close behind. Chris sat in one of the seats and his omega friend joined next to him.

"How was I?" Lilly asked smirking seeming more admused about this than she should be.

"You were great but honestly I think she didn't care" Chris said, clicking the pen to start filling out information.

"So you think she wouldn't care that I took this too?" Lilly asked, revealing the desk bell behind her back.

"How did you-...go and give it back Lilly" Chris said in a warning tone but that didn't stop him from smiling anyways at her shenanigans.

"But-But come on it rings" Lilly whined like the pup she is ringing the bell again with a pouty face.

"Lilly" Chris said showing a half serious face.

"Okay fine" Lilly pouted hopping down from the chair dragging her tail as she walked to the main desk.

Chris shook his head at the sneaky omega before turning his attention back to the paperwork. A few seconds later he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and reached in to check it. There were two missed calls following several text messages from Remy, his co-worker. Chris read some of the messages she sent and it instantly grew a smile on his face. She was asking to go out some place with him to hang out. It was quite odd to him knowing the fact she recently had a bad break up, but he didn't question it too much. Maybe Remy really needed someone to talk to and he happens to be the one on her mind. Chris decided to text her back kind words of aspiration after what happened last night when he drove her home. He put his phone away after he finished texting to see Lilly sitting next to him with a pack of Skittles in her mouth.

"This isn't chocolate right?" Lilly muffled out tilting her head for the curious question.

"No it isn't but you really do have a nose for trouble" Chris chuckled taking the Skittles pack out her mouth playfully smacking her head with it.

"Thanks it's a talent" Lilly said proudly poking her chest out before sniffling the candy again.

"Na ah ah let's wait after your check up...you've eaten enough human food anyway" Chris said stuffing the candy into his pockets causing Lilly to pout.

"No fair you just want it for yourself!...ooo what's that?" Lilly asked quickly running off after a glowing dog toy on the ground. Chris laughed at her pup like behavior as she rolled around on the floor chewing the toy away.

A few minutes passed and Chris was finished with the paperwork turning it into the receptionist. Moments later he found himself on the floor laughing while playing with Lilly and the toys that were provided for dogs. In this instance it didn't matter if she was a wolf, in a way she still behaved like a dog. Therefore Chris thought maybe he should buy Lilly some chew toys for his home, she really seems to love the ones there at the animal clinic. As with all things in life good things will always have to come to an end. The veterinary nurse called Lilly's name and they all made their way to a well decorated private room. A bunch of shiny dangerous things in one room is a huge no-no for a sneaky omega like Lilly. If you turn your head for a second she would be balancing used needles on her snout. Chris had the omega on his lap in the high bed as the nurse ran a normal check up on her. The nurse was quite fond of Lilly and was fascinated about her because it's not often she runs check ups on wolves; despite living in an area where they're tons of them. A lot of questions came Chris's way about adopting an unusual pet but it wasn't anything too difficult for him to answer. Lilly was afraid of the gadgets the nurse was using at first and would hold onto her best friend hoping the worse. Then soon after she started laughing from the tickling sensation on her back. The nurse was rubbing a brush through her fur to check for any type of parasite and if she may need pest control medication. She then checked for proper joint movement along with weight and dental care. After Chris signed more release papers Lilly was in the clear for adoption.

"Okay you take care Chris and you too gorgeous" The nurse cheerfully said, rubbing Lilly's belly causing her roll over for better access.

"Thanks for everything and we will" Chris said smiling widely at the nurse before leading the way out clinic. Lilly rolled back over on her paws and trotted next to Chris followed him out the exit.

"I like her she..was nice" Lilly said smiling up at Chris wagging her tail.

"I'm more surprised you weren't jealous" Chris teased in a flirty tone wiggling his eyebrows at the now blushing omega.

"Why would I be jealous?..she isn't your type anyway" Lilly said not necessarily thinking about what she said before she said it, and when she realized it, she mentally scolded herself.

"Oh so you know my type now huh?" Chris asked grinning at the stunned red face omega.

"I..I-I...uh-"

"GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE RESCALES!" A man yelled startling the duo from the sudden outburst. A tan-ish furred blur following a grey-ish furred pup ran behind Chris shivering harshly in fear.

"Kate?..Humphrey?..what are you guys doing here?" Lilly asked clueless to where they came from and how they got here. Kate settled down from her fright once she saw Lilly and said.

"No what's more important is what are you doing here?...mom and dad would flip if they knew where you were right now!" Kate protested angrily glaring at Lilly muzzle to muzzle.

"Well now we're both here so I guess they're doing double backflips!" Lilly shot back irritated that Kate keeps getting in her business.

"Woah woah woah let's take a few steps back and question how did you guys get here first and why are you here?" Chris asked not entirely sure what to ask them first.

"It was all Kate's idea to follow you guys and now there's a human chasing us with a weapon!" Humphrey cowardly said still shivering behind Chris's legs and Kate pawed her muzzle.

"You know you were much braver a few minutes ago when you saved me from the bliss cobb blobs" Kate said starting to become unimpressed at Humphrey's unsettledness.

"Bliss cobb blobs?" Chris questioned the weird gibberish.

"...*sigh*..She means cars" Lilly said rolling her eyes somewhat embarrassed on what they used to call human vehicles.

"There you two are!" The man said holding a tranquilizer gun scaring Kate into joining Humphrey behind Chris for protection.

Everyone stared at the animal control officer with widened eyes unsure what to do or say. It's the same guy Lilly ran across the last time and she remembers how relentless he was into catching her. However, his uniform was severely dirty covered in mud, pink feathers, soap bubbles, and what seemed like globs of peanut butter. Kate and Humphrey must've put this guy through a world of trouble to catch them. And now that Lilly's sister drove poor confused Humphrey into the mix, things will probably pan out differently for Chris to explain….
