"So...I know I asked you on a date Jaune, but where exactly are we going?" Yang said as her and Jaune began to walk away from the Bullhead station further into the city of Vale.

Jaune just scratched the back of his head while giving Yang an awkward smile. "I thought maybe we could go out for a quick bite to eat, and some other stuff." Jaune said while vaguely looking away from Yang and further into Vale.

Yang just smirked back at Jaune with her trademark grin. "Riiiight. So you totally have today planned out for the two of us." she said with a teasing tone.

"Of course I have today planned out! I just don't want to ruin the surprise of all my plans!" Jaune quickly responded with a slight blush.

Yang didn't say anything else and instead just walked closer to Jaune's side and then intertwined her right arm with his left. Jaune didn't verbally give any reaction to that, but the slight red dusting on his face became more prominent and defined.

Since they had been walking and Yang was distracted by talking she didn't even notice that the two of them were already a good distance away from the Bullheads now. It seemed as though Jaune had lead the two of them into a small shopping district that was directly next to a couple of blocks of apartments.

The apartments didn't look like anything special, maybe something that some college kids would rent for a year while they went to school, or maybe even a place where some of the shop keeps lived.

The shopping district in turn reflected exactly what the apartments building looked like. There was a small grocery store that maybe a few elderly couples were getting food. A couple of well known fast food restaurants that were decently filled with teens of all ages. And finally, a gas station that had two pumps that each had small lines of 2-3 vehicles.

All in all, it looked like a pretty decent part of Vale that most people would be alright living in.

"Well Jaune I didn't really take you as a McDust burger kinda guy." Yang said as Jaune just shook his head.

"Well looks like you're right. I'm actually more of a Dust King guy myself. The fries are totally better." Jaune said

Yang gasped and let go of his arm while pointing an accusing finger at him with her other hand. "You take that back! McDust has the best fries around!" Yang said.

Jaune just crossed his arms and glared at her. A moment passed between them before they started to smile at each other and let out small laughs.

Once they finished laughing Yang retook her place at Jaune's side and the two began to walk again. What confused Yang however was the fact that they walked past all of the food places and were heading right for the grocery store.

"Ummm Jaune? Unless you have a portable kitchen on you I don't know why were heading to a grocery store to eat." Yang said while suspiciously looking at her date.

Jaune just smiled and kept walking towards the store. "Trust me Yang you won't regret coming here." He said with a hint of amusement.

As the two of them walked in Yang wasn't surprised to see that it looked like a normal grocery store. They had some produce to her left, shelved good infront of her, and a refrigerated area to her right. What she was surprised by was a rich smell of beef being cooked and spices being used.

As Yang continued to sniff the air and trying to find the source of food being made, Jaune just chuckled and started to walk down one of the lanes of shelved items towards the back of the store.

From outside it seemed like a small store that might be cramped on the inside if it meant to be a successful grocery store, but really it was pretty roomy and a lot longer than she thought. Once they had reached the back of the store there were plastic flaps that were semi transparent, and Yang could barely make out that it lead back to outside and that there were a large fire pit and some tables.

Without stopping however Jaune continued forwards and moved some of the flaps for them and showed off what was really behind the flaps.

It was a big open yard that had at least 9 wooden tables scattered around, each with a different color or pattern umbrella to give them shade. In the middle of the yard there was a large fire pit that still contained ashes from the last time it was used. Closer to the store was another table, but this one was made of metal and had many trays covered by steamy domes. Behind that table was a man and woman who were working at a small kitchen that had a mesh screen around them to prevent bugs from getting to them, and they were cooking different kinds of meats.

"Whoa, never would have thought this was here." Yang said as her mouth watered slightly at the smell of meat being cooked and grilled.

"Yah, I only know about this place because my fam-" Jaune was saying before he was interrupted by an elderly lady coming from behind them.

"Well, if it isn't little Jauney. Back again to visit ol' Nana at her store hmm. With a pretty girl no less." The old lady, Nana Yang presumed, said as she walked in front of Jaune and reached up to pinch his right cheek.

"H-hey Nana. It's nice to see you again." Jaune said as he let go of Yang and bent a bit down to give Nana a hug.

Yang let the two have their moment and smiled at the two of them. "Oh, how rude of me. I never introduced myself." Nanaa said as she finished her hug with Jaune and faced Yang.

"I'm Nana, Jaune's grandpa's sister on his mothers side." Nana said while taking Yangs right hand into her own.

"I'm Yang, I go to Beacon with Jaune." Yang said with confidence in her voice.

"Oh my. Jauney you never told me you were at Beacon. You should come by more often." Nana said while letting go of Yangs hand and glaring at Jaune.

"H-heh. Yah I guess I should come by to visit more often." Jaune said a bit nervously while looking down at his feet.

"Ahh, don't think about it now deary. You brought someone with you so you should enjoy the time you have now." Nana said as she patted Jaune's arm and smiled at Yang.

"Well back to the front. This store doesn't run itself you know." Nana said as she began to walk back into the main grocery store.

"Thanks Nana! I'll be sure to visit more often and with more friends next time!" Jaune said as he called back to the older lady.

Once she was clearly out of hearing range from the two Yang gave Jaune's arm a quick playful jab. "Who knew your family owned a grocery store Jaune. Nana must be rolling in cash." Yang said.

Jaune just nervously laughed while not looking at Yang. "Yah...I guess she does huh." He said sounding very suspicious.

Yang began to frown as she stepped closer to Jaune. "If I didn't know any better I would think you were trying to hide something from me Jaune." Yang said.

"Well not really hide, just not mention." Jaune said while looking upwards and briefly meeting Yangs smoldering glare. "I-I mean of course I would bring up at some point that Nana...kinda own this whole neighborhood we're in…" Jaune meekly said.

Yang had decided to trade in her glare for a blank doe like look instead. "So you're telling me...that your grandmother is loaded...and you never thought to mention that!" Yang exclaimed, while catching the attention of the two cooks who just laughed at the display.

"Well there was never really a good time to bring it up, and she's not really loaded. She just has a good bit of money stored away. Not nearly as much as Weiss' family probably has." Jaune quickly said while raising his hands and taking a step back from Yang.

Yang however took two steps closer to Jaune so she was now in his face, her lilac eyes vibrant and nearly glowing. Suddenly Yang smirked and took a step back from Jaune. "Well I guess it doesn't really matter anyways. Lien's not really a thing I look for in a guy." She said playfully while extending a hand and placing it on Jaune's chest.

Jaune gulped and stared down at the female hand that was touching him. "What is it that you...look for in a guy then Yang?" He said.

Yang clicked her tongue and turned away to start heading to where the food was. "I gotta keep some secrets Jaune. Then I have something to trade for your apparently hidden life." she said teasing her fellow blond.

Jaune just sighed as he watched Yang head towards the cooks, who were also his cousins...but there was no need to bring that up to her now, and start pointing out food that she would like to eat.

'Well might as well go get myself a plate too. I hope they made Nana's special beef stew today…' Jaune thought to himself.

"Well lover boy, that reaaaly hit the spot." Yang said as she patted her stomach as the two of them were walking away from Nana's grocery store.

Jaune was turned around waving goodbye to Nana who was standing in the entrance of her store waving back. Once the two were a good distance away Jaune turned back around and looked at Yang. "Was it...breader than you thought it would be?" Jaunse said with a smile towards his date.

Yang turned to smirk back at him accepting his challenge. "Oh you butter believe it." She replied back.

"That's grape to hear. We should go again sometime soon. Nana would love to really get to know you." Jaune quipped back.

"It'll be a brunch of fun to bring the whole gang along too!" Yang said.

Jaune opened his mouth to try and think of something else to say, but after a few moments of silence he hung his head in defeat.

"Hah! Guess we both know who's still the pun master around here." Yang said while jabbing his thumb back at herself. "This grill." she finished with a laugh.

Jaune laughed back and the two continued to walk down the path they were on. Once a minute had passed Jaune had plucked up enough courage to reach out for Yangs right hand with his left.

Once the two hands brushed Yang jumped slightly and then quickly turned her face away from Jaune as she blushed a bit and turned her hand a bit so she could fully grasp Jaune's hand into her own.

"S-so lover boy. Where are we off to now?" Yang said as they walked for a bit longer.

"Well if you were looking ahead you'd see that we were already where we wanted to be." Jaune said with a cheeky tone.

Yang quickly turned to glare at him before facing forward and seeing that the two of them were now located in one of Vales many parks.

There were multiple stone brick paths that led around the park. Most of them were lined with some benches and trash bins, while a few led down to a decently sized pond, and another few led to a large gazebo that seemed like a place for local events to be held.

Jaune started to tug on Yangs hand down one of the paths that led down to the small pond. "I swear Jaune if you try to push me in the water, you won't live to see the end of tonight!" Yang said as she protectively brushed her hair with her free hand.

Jaune laughed as he continued to drag Yang further down the path. "Don't worry your pretty little head Yang. I would never do something to ruin your beautiful hair." he said.

Yang rolled her eyes at him and continued to allow the boy to lead her forward. Once the two of them made it it down by the water Jaune sat down on the grass and patted the ground next to him waiting for Yang to follow suite.

Yang laughed and moved next to Jaune on the floor and once she was settled Jaune gently took her hand into his and pointed over the water with his free hand.

"Look, there's a family of ducks out on the water." Jaune said. True to his word, as Yang looked to where Jaune was pointing she could see one big duck with 3 little ducklings following it closely.

The two of them sat in comfortable silence just watching the ducks move about the water. Enjoying the presence of one another and not thinking about much. After a few more minutes of this Yang decided to break the silence.

"So I know you always talk about your family Jaune, but I don't think anyone has actually seen you call them or even write a letter." Yang said while tilting her head to look at Jaune.

Jaune in turn just sighed and let go of Yangs hand and instead crossed his two arms over his bent up knees. "Ya...my family is great. I would give them so much to make them happy. It's just…" Jaune was saying before a he went quiet and stared at the duck family.

The parent was pecking at something at one of the ducklings while the other two were happily swimming circles around the two.

"I know my family would give me just as much to be happy as I would them...maybe they even gave me more than what's necessary." Jaune continued. "Everywhere I went as a kid my family was there right alongside me. 24/7 I was always with my parents or one of my sisters."

Jaune moved his crossed arms from his knees to the back up his head and then started to lay down. "I was the only son, the only brother. They had to make sure I was safe and taken care of, but that only made me complacent...and weak willed."

"I never would have made it to Beacon if I...didn't manage to sneak away from my family." Jaune said while his voice got softer.

Yang let an awkward silence now overtake them before she reached out a hand to place on one og jaune's knees. "Hey, you should call them soon. I'll be there with you and I can meet them all." She said with a smile.

Jaune just smiled up towards the sky and then towards Yang. "Yah. Maybe we'll do that someday soon." He replied.

After another half hour of just sitting in front of the pond the dynamic blond duo moved onto the next part of the date. Walking back towards the direction of the bullheads Jaune had suddenly taken a narrow side street towards a lit door that had two bouncer looking guys dressed in grey suits standing outside.

"Hey Jaune, not like i'm concerned ar anything but where are we going." Yang said as she watched the two guy eye the both of them up and down.

Jaune didn't respond though and kept walking up to the men in suits. Once the two of them had finished walking close up to the men one of them pulled a stamp from his pocket while the other gestured his hand out for something.

Jaune pulled out his wallet and gave the man with an open hand 10 lien, while he gave his other hand to the guy with the stamp. Once Jaune was done he motioned for Yang to get a stamp as well. Sighing and just deciding to go along with whatever Jaune was doing she offered up her hand for a stamp also.

As soon as she received hers the man who took the lien opened the door behind him and gestured for the couple to walk inside.

Now Yang was no stranger to the seedy parts of towns, due to all the clubbing that she liked to do during the summer, but she wasn't prepared for a large open circle filled with all sorts of people going in circles.

She cracked a smile while turning to Jaune. "For a second there I was worried you were leading a double life on me lover boy." She joked.

He smiled back at her as he guided the two of them to what appeared the front desk that was filled with roller skates. "How do you know I'm still not hiding that from you?" He said with a mischievous smile.

"Haha Jaune. That's really funny." Yang said sarcastically. After a moment of Jaune not replying she slowed her walk a bit. "Wait...you're joking right?"

Jaune just turned back to her and gave a small wink before starting to order his pair of roller blades.

Yang decided that her only option left was to pout as she walked up to order a pair of roller blades for herself as well.

Once the two blondes had secured their new shoes and had put them on they glided their way towards the large circle in the building.

"So when did you learn to skate Yang? It seems like you would've been too busy training to be a huntress or partying it up in Vale." Jaune said while turning around to skate backwards and still face Yang.

Yang grinned as she increased her speed and did a quick circle around Jaune and then started to skate backwards next to him. "Well not all clubs are just bars with dance floors. Some of them have skate rinks and bars." She replied back.

Jaune laughed as he grabbed one of Yangs arms and led the two of them into the middle of the rink. Once they had both stopped Jaune began to do the Cabbage Patch and circle around Yang. "So you danced just like this then?" He said while smirking.

Yang just groaned and laughed a bit at Jaune slowly going around her while his arms moved. "Alright old man let me show you how dancing really goes." Yang stopped Jaune from moving as she began to pop and lock her body and then move closer to Jaune. When she finished she brought both her arms so they were hanging around Jaune's neck.

Jaune smiled as he removed Yang's arms from himself and slid a bit back. "Alright that's pretty good, but I'd like to see you do this while in skates." Jaune said as he began to dance The Simpson while dramatically bringing his legs close to the floor.

Yang just stared at him for a moment before laughing at him. "Maybe it's a good thing that I can't do that." She said.

Jaune just shrugged as he stopped dancing and once again grabbed Yang's arm to lead them back to skating around the rink.

(~)

After a whole hour of skating and doing funny things to impress each other Jaune and Yang decided that it was time to leave the skating rink.

The two of them handed in their shoes and walked out of the building from a different entrance from where they came in and walked right into the busy streets of Vale once again.

"Why didn't we come in through this way in the first place?" Yang said while looking at Jaune.

In turn he just turned to look at her and smile. "If you go in the back way there's a secret discount." He replied.

Yang rolled her eyes and smirked a bit. "Alright Lover Boy I think we should probably start heading back to Beacon now."

Jaune nodded in turn and instinctively took one of Yang's hands into his own while walking off towards the bullhead area.

Yang blushed a bit but didn't say anything about it since this was the second time today that they held hands, and they were on a date.

As the two of them walked closer towards the bullheads they had to pass through a small shopping district and they just happened to run into a familiar face.

"Well well well. Look at this. Two blondes deciding to hit up the city." Coco said as she walked out of a clothing store while holding two full bags.

"Ummm hi there. Do we...know you?" Yang said while sizing up the girl in front of them.

Coco was wearing her normal black and brown outfit, but as always her fashion was top notch.

"Oh. That's just Coco. She's the leader of team Coffee who are all second years." Jaune replied while turning to Yang.

"Ohhh someone remembers me." Coco said while sliding her shades down a bit while winking at Jaune.

Yang's grip on Jaune's hand tightened a bit but not enough for him to question it. "So just how do you two know each other Jaune?" Yang said tightly.

Jaune looked a bit confused at Coco before turning to Yang. "Coco is the student aid for the first year leadership class, and it's kinda hard to forget her when she's always picking Cardin apart." Jaune said while finishing with a small vindictive smile.

Yang let loose a small sigh and slowly relaxed her grip on Jaune's hand. "Well then if you're a friend of Jaune's then you're a friend of mine." Yang said as she held out her free hand towards Coco.

"Yang Xiao Long, brawler of team RWBY." Yang continued as Coco stepped forwards and took her hand.

Without Jaune knowing the two of them squeezed each others hand as hard as they could trying to display their dominance and they both felt a bit of their aura drain after the shake.

"A pleasure to meet you Yang. Full name's Coco Adel, leader and gunner of team CFVY." Coco replied while subtly shaking her hand to get feeling back.

"Well as fun as it is to talk with you two I don't want to be a third wheel. I'm leaving." Coco said as she casually walked past the two blondes and headed to another shop.

"Bye Coco. Cya when classes start again." Jaune called after her, and she waved at him without looking.

Jaune looked at Yang to see her starting at Coco's retreating form. "Well that was unexpected huh?" Jaune said gaing Yang's attention.

Yang just smiled at him while nodding and then tugging him in the direction on the bullheads.

The continued walk there was uneventful to say the least. No random person to stop the two of them. No dust shop that recently got robbed. Heck there were barely and shops that were actually open right now.

Once the two of them had reached the bullhead docks Yang turned to face Jaune and spun the boy so he was looking at her as well.

"Today was...really fun Jaune. I'm glad the two of us went out." Yang said while blushing but refusing to lower her head and break eye contact.

Jaune's cheeks turned a slight pinkish hue as he smiled. "Well that's great then! I'm really happy that you asked me out in the first place." He replied also not breaking eye contact.

The two of them stood there for a few seconds before Yang suddenly leaned her face forward and mashed her lips onto Jaune's.

For a moment Jaune was shocked. He didn't think the date would end this well, heck the date wasn't even really over yet! So after a second Jaune pushed his face forward as well making Yang start to grin against his lips.

Once a few more moments passed the two blondes pulled away from each other. "Normally I would wait until we're both back at Beacon, but you do have a reputation on airships Lover Boy." Yang said with a small smile.

Jaune huffed immediately and crossed his arms. "Motion sickness is a way more common problem than most people think!...and thanks for that...I really liked it." Jaune said while finishing a bit meekly.

Yang's smiled turned more into one of a predator. "Ohhh, so romantic contact is the thing that gets you huh?" Yang said. "Well then, you should be expecting a lot more of it real soon!" She continued.

Jaune just blushed and uncrossed his arms. He took one of Yang's hands and dragged the two of them towards one of the bullheads heading for Beacon.

Time to head back to the dorms and tell their partners about everything that happened on their date!

AN: Well here it is...finally...hehe...
