A/N: I think after a little over three years, I should finally finish what I started :) Hope you enjoy! I missed these two a lot.

Part IV: Spring

Spring had always brought the worst out of Chi-Chi, literally.

She tried hanging up Goku's polka dot boxers on the clothesline, but her sneezing kept causing her to drop every clothing item to the ground. With her belly larger than ever, she couldn't bend down to pick it up.

"Let me help ya with that!"

Chi-Chi wiped her watery left eye with her finger and smiled at the sound of her husband's voice. He had really stepped up during this third trimester. She gave him a kiss on the cheek once he finished hanging up the remainder of the fresh laundry.

"Thanks-achoo-sweetheart," Chi-Chi broke out into a fit of sneezes, causing Goku to frown. "I-achoo-appreciate it."

"You gettin' sick again?"

Chi-Chi smiled through the tears. "No, I get bad allergies this time of the year. With the trees blooming and pollen everywhere. It sucks, but at least it's pretty."

Goku furrowed his dark brows while glaring at the birch tree a few feet away from them. "The trees are doing this to you!?"

"Yeah, among other things. But-" Before she could finish, her young husband detached the tree from its roots and whirled it far into the woods of Mount Paozu. Chi-Chi blinked in disbelief.

The messy haired hero grinned a flashy white smile and put a thumb up. "Better?"

Not wanting to be the poster couple for deforestation, Chi-Chi wiped away the bead of sweat from her forehead. "Much better," she chuckled nervously, hoping she wouldn't release another sneeze with him around. "Did you want to catch us a big fish for lunch today?"

Goku licked his lips and rubbed his stomach. "Mmm-mm! Are you gonna fry it!?"

"Of course," she winked. "I-aaaaaachooooooo!"

Goku went back a few feet from the shock of her large sneeze. Judging by the looks of it, this sneeze was the big one. The front of her pants had formed a circle of wetnes, and only continued to grow larger. "Oh no... I've had that happen before, Cheech. It's okay! Sometimes you can't hold it in. You just stay right there and I'll get you-"

The pure white color her face had turned had stopped the young warrior from continuing. She looked as if she'd seen a ghost, or just peed herself in front of her husband. Goku chuckled and placed a muscular arm around her shoulder.

"Hey, no need to be embarrassed. I don't care if you peed. I still think you're beautiful."

Slowly, Chi-Chi turned her head upward to meet his gaze while she caressed her stomach with clammy hands. She thought her pregnancy pain was a little extreme this morning, but didn't think too much of it. Her lips trembled as she spoke."Goku... That's not pee..."

Goku blinked. "What is it, a water balloon?" To her horror, he squatted down to get on level with her private area to inspect it. She kicked him, sending him fully onto his bottom on the grass. "Ouch! What was that for?"

"I think the baby's coming!"

"What!?" Goku jumped to his feet and grabbed his hair with both of his hands. "Now!?"

Chi-Chi started crying hysterically with her hands in her face, unsure of what to do. She thought she still had a couple more weeks. She needed more time! She wasn't ready to be a mom! "GOOOOOKUUUUUU!" she wailed loudly. "IT HURTS!"

She sobbed into his chest, while Goku patted her pat for comfort. He was never this excited and terrified in his life! The baby was coming! "Shh, shh. It's okay, Chi-Chi. Let's go lay you down and I'll do my job..." He cleared his throat, hoping she wouldn't punch him. "What... what did I need to do again?"

His words only caused her to cry harder.

"I-I'll figure it out," he chuckled nervously. "Let's get you to the bed before the baby falls out."

Much to her surprise, Goku figured out how to use to telephone to get in contact with her dad and the midwife. The sweet elderly woman who had carried out multiple deliveries in Mount Paozu was coaching her through the delivery, while Ox King sat in a chair beside her and twiddled his fingers. Her husband, however, was nowhere to be found.

"Where is he?" she managed to croak. Her face and hair were completely drenched in sweat. "Where's Goku?"

Ox King laughed loudly. He took his daughter's hand and kissed the top of it affectionately. "He's in the living room walking back and forth like a mad man. Do you want him back in here?"

"Please get the daddy," the midwife glanced up at the large man as he stood up. "The baby's crowning!"

Chi-Chi blinked through drenched eyelashes. "... What does that mean!? Is everything okay?"

"Yes, yes!" The midwife smiled warmly, her wrinkles revealing years of experience. "It means we see a head! Looks like the baby is going to have a lot of black hair!"

Chi-Chi felt like fainting. The pain was excruciating. Her finger nails dug into her bed sheets as she cried out for her husband, who had finally entered the room. He was sweating himself. The warrior was quick to join her side, giving his forehead kisses until he made a face from the salty taste.

"Goku," she looked up at him with tears of pain running down her face. "I'm not going to make it! It hurts!"

"Keep pushing, mama!" The midwife urged the teenager. "You got this!"

Goku frowned knowing how much his wife was hurting. He rubbed her cheek with his thumb. "When the baby burst through your stomach, I'll take care of you. I promise."

The midwife had looked up from between Chi-Chi's spread legs and tilted her head, inquisitively. These young fathers just didn't have a clue. "Son Goku, would you like to assist me in delivering your son?"

Goku pointed at his chest and raised his eyebrows, as if there were ten other Son Goku's in the room. The midwife decided to humor him, and nodded her head. Goku gave Chi-Chi a quick kiss on the cheek before standing next to the midwife. "Tell me what I need to do and I got it!"

"I appreciate the enthusiasm," the midwife grinned. "Reach your hands in there and get ready to grab the baby as it comes out. Chi-Chi, I'm going to need you to keep pushing!"

The poor young woman cried out to the point that her eyes began rolling to the back of head. The midwife snapped at Ox King. "Get your daughter a cold towel and place it on her head! Keep her conscious!"

But it turned out, Chi-Chi wasn't the one that needed the cold towel. As soon as Goku saw the tiny head emerging from in between Chi-Chi's legs, he collapsed backwards onto the bedroom floor with his feet in the air.

A boy.

They had a boy.

They have a son!

Chi-Chi looked adoringly at her son who was resting peacefully in her arms. The midwife had taken refuge in their spare bedroom for the night, promising to take care of Chi-Chi and the baby for the next few days until she knew for certain that they were in good health. Ox King was fast asleep on the couch where his grandson was conceived (but it's not like Chi-Chi admitted that), and Goku was splashing cold water in his face.

Once her husband had emerged from the bathroom, he sat down beside his wife. Seeing her holding the life they created, was definitely the most beautiful he had ever seen her.

"Sorry I blacked out on ya, Cheech. It was a little scary, not gonna lie."

Chi-Chi laughed softly. It was clear to see that she was exhausted. She kissed his bicep and sighed. "Do you want to hold him?"

Goku hesitantly reached his hands out to her, and she placed their son into his arms. The midwife had obviously seen some crazy stuff in her days, since she didn't question the fact the baby had a monkey's tail. The very same tail Goku had as a child. His little body was swaddled in an orange blanket that resembled the color of his gi. They had placed a red hat on top of his head to keep him warm, and a little swoosh of black bangs peaked out from underneath it.

He was absolutely perfect.

"Chi-Chi."

His voice sounded sad.

"Yes?"

Goku sighed and rocked his son gently in his arms. He was so tiny. So new. But, there was still something he could feel as he held him. "I never understood what it meant until now."

"What?"

"To be a dad," Goku smiled down at his son. "I'll do anything for him."

Chi-Chi used her strength to sit up so she could wrap her arms around his neck. She kissed his cheek all over and rested her chin on his shoulder. They were both looking at the one thing they loved more than each other. "Who knows.. Maybe one day, he'll save the world."
