A/N: I made a poll last week to see what Daisukeʻs quirk should be. I will leave it up for another week before taking it down, please vote in the meantime.
"Guys!" Daisuke exclaimed bursting into the arena with Carlos in a toll "Power Loader finished your android and he's ready for you to test it out"
"Really!" Izuka asked excitedly
"Yep! is she ready to go with her fighting style?" Daisuke asked Carlos
"She should be good" Carlos said
"How about her quirk usage?" Daisuke asked Akio
"It's going to be a slaughter" Akio said confidently
"Ok then let's get this show on the road!" Daisuke said
After much talking it was decided that Izuka would be given one extra day to review all her moves. She spent the remainder of the day sparring with Carlos. By the end of the day the score was 41 to 43 in favor of Izuka.
Izuka couldn't wait to head home and tell her mom about everything she accomplished that day. Izuka's mom played a very important role in encouraging and cheering her on during her training.
"Mom I'm home!" Izuka announced
"Izuka, how was your day?" Inko asked hugging her daughter
"It was great! I figured out how to do a couple of things and I polished up the fighting techniques Carlos taught me. Oh and the android finally came in" Izuka said
"Have you fought it yet?" Inko asked her daughter
"Not yet, we're planning on tomorrow morning" Izuka said "Since we don't know how long the fight will last"
"I know you'll do great sweetie. You've progressed a lot, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to" Inko said
"Thanks mom" Izuka said
"Go to sleep early tonight. You need to be well rested for tomorrow" Inko said
"Ok" Izuka said "Thanks for everything"
"Goodnight Izuka" Inko said
Izuka walked into her bedroom and locked her door. She had a couple things she wanted to test some more things out before going to bed in order to be completely prepared for tomorrow. She wanted to see if she could breath underwater as it was mentioned in the Hibon book.
She filled the sink up and put her head underwater. After a small banter in her head Izuka finally worked up enough courage to take a breath underwater. She was happy to discover that instead of suffocating like she previously thought she would she was able to breathe perfectly fine.
Izuka dried herself off and then walked to the window grateful for living on the 4th floor. She spent the next hour flying in and out of the window practicing her take-offs, landing and general flying. Once she was pleased with her results she turned off the lights and climbed into bed feeling a bit more confident than earlier.
Izuka walked into the arena after she finished her morning exercise, she was completely shocked by what she saw. There were about 150 people in the arena and sitting on the stands. Izuka knew that there were a large number of people who trained at Yukute Corp and she hadn't seen all of them but she never saw this many people in one training area.
Looking at the crowd she noticed a couple of people from training sessions, the weight room, and other places. She even saw the two boys she met on the first day chatting with two other people who looked to be about the same age.
"Daisuke!" Izuka exclaimed when she saw him "Why are there so many people here? Is today like a special training day or something? If it is we could reschedule for another time"
"What do you mean reschedule? They're all here to watch you!" Daisuke said laughing
"Wh-wha? Why?!" Izuka asked flabbergasted
"Half of them have seen you train and want to see what you look like in battle, the other half have heard rumors about how powerful you are and want to see it for themselves, and me Carlos, Akio, Myumi, Power Loader, and your mom are here to cheer you on" Daisuke said
"My mom's here?" Izuka squealed a bit apprehensive about fighting in front of her mom. The last thing she wanted to do was disappoint her mom
"Of course! She called me last night asking if she could watch the fight and I couldn't turn her down. She's so excited to see how much you've progressed!" Daisuke said
"I don't think I can fight in front of her, w-what if I make a really, really, really bad mistake?" Izuka asked on the verge of panicking
"Don't act like I haven't seen you in training because I have. You're a beast and you got this!" Daisuke said
"B-but do I have to train in front of all these people?" Izuka asked "I c-can't handle big crowds!" she said
"Izu, you want to be a hero right?" she nodded "Then you can't let some people scare you. You got this!" Daisuke encouraged
"W-when am I starting?" Izuka asked
"How does now sound?" Carlos asked popping up behind Daisuke
"Oh hi Carlos! Uh, yeah I can start now-"
"OKAY PEOPLE HEAD TO THE STANDS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Carlos yelled, cutting Izuka off. She covered her eyes with her hands in embarrassment blocking out everyone's stares.
"You got this small bean! Ignore everyone in the stands, it's just you and the android" Carlos said retreating to the stands dragging Daisuke with him
"I believe in you Izu!" Daisuke called out giving her a thumbs up
Soon Izuka stood face to face with the android. She had to admit it was impressive work, it stood at about 6"0 and was made of dark gray metal that was almost black. Red lines ran across. It's eyes glowed an ominous red waiting to start.
"Three!" Power Loader's device beeped. Izuka went directly into her fighting stance
"Two!" Izuka's eyes locked onto the "villain" the other people in the room faded away as Izuka focused on the task in front of her
"One!" Izuka took a deep breath readying herself for the fight
"START!"
The android's eyes flickered to a green and it's eyes locked onto Izuka. Instead of jumping straight into battle it seemed to take a minute to analyze Izuka trying to pinpoint her weaknesses. Suddenly it sprung towards her at breakneck speeds, Izuka dodged easily and aimed a blow towards the back of it's knee.
Before she could land the hit it moved out of the way behind Izuka. Using a small breeze to pinpoint the exact location of the android Izuka activated blue flames along her arms and hit the neck of the android. Causing it to fumble a couple of steps backwards. Izuka encased the android in stone up to its neck and launched herself forward preparing to knee it in the chest. At the last moment it broke out of the stone and grabbed Izuka's leg tossing her into the air like a rag doll.
Izuka flipped through the air a couple of times before she stopped herself hanging in the air like she was frozen in time before exploding forward back into battle.
Up in the Stands - Daisuke, Myumi, Carlos, and Akio
"Oh no," Daisuke said cringing as he watched the android toss Izuka into the air
"That's gonna hurt" Carlos said watching as Izuka tumbled through the air
Suddenly she stopped flipping and appeared to be frozen in the air. Everyone on the stands were watching with rapt attention as Izuka exploded back towards the android.
"SHE CAN FLY!" Carlos and Daisuke said simultaneously
"No she can teleport" Akio responded sarcastically
"She can teleport too!" Carlos exclaimed
"Oh my god you are an idiot" Myumi said shaking her head disappointedly
"That has been apparent since day 1" Daisuke said smirking at a pouting Carlos
"Everyone shut up and watch" Akio snapped
Everyone immediately quieted down and turned their attention back to Izuka not wanting to miss a second of the fight.
Back in the Arena
Izuka looked like a Blue Human Torch as she barreled into the android knocking it over. It's eyes started to take on a slight yellowish hue but still glowed primarily green. As soon as Izuka hit the ground she extinguished her flames and stomped on the ground resulting in a 8.2 magnitude earthquake. Izuka flew up a little off the ground to avoid the shaking, everyone in the stands were being thrown around, the android lost it's balance and ended up falling on the ground.
While the android was down Izuka started slashing the air causing some minor scrapes to appear on the android. Realizing that her approach wouldn't work Izuka decided to go against the android using hand to hand combat.
Izuka went back into "Blue Human Torch" mode and aimed a punch at the android to which it caught throwing her over its shoulder. Izuka predicted this move and swung herself around allowing her to place a kick to the back of it's head making it do a dramatic summersault thing so it wouldn't fall flat on the ground.
Izuka launched into another kick attack, the android grabbed her leg again but this time instead of throwing her over its shoulder it started swinging her around. Izuka managed to grab the androids head with her hand and released an explosion with so much force that it knocked some people in the stands back.
Izuka stood up scowling at the pain in her wrists. Knowing she probably strained it due to the amount of force she just emitted during the explosion. She knew she wouldn't be able to continue fighting at 100% if she wasn't in top shape. She flew up about 30 feet before creating some water and using it to heal her wrists, while she waited Izuka flew around her opponent looking for possible weaknesses.
A brilliant idea occurred to Izuka and she almost slapped herself for not realizing it sooner. She could just short-circuit the android using bursts of lightning. As soon as the pain completely faded from Izuka's wrists she landed on the other side of the ring. Knowing she couldn't waste any energy or time Izuka started charging herself with as much energy as possible. The android rushed over to Izuka at speeds she didn't predict.
Izuka realized she didn't have enough time to convert the energy into electricity. Doing the only thing she could think of, Izuka closed her eyes and moved out of the way as quickly as she could, energy still charging through her. Knowing a couple of steps probably wouldn't make a difference, Izuka prepared for the android to pound her to the ground but was pleasantly surprised when the android didn't come into contact with her.
She opened her eyes and saw that she was a ways away from the android. Keeping her eyes open this time Izuka ran with energy coursing through her and was elated to see that everything passed her in a blur.
Wanting to test her speed out even further Izuka hopped up into the air making sure to maintain the high amount of energy channelling through her veins. Just like she predicted she shot into the air like a bullet going 10 times faster than she normally did. She turned around, lowered herself to the ground and faced the android head on. She gathered all the energy to her arm and shot out lightning which left her slightly drained.
To Izuka exasperation the android eyes flickered to a yellow but didn't seem to be affected otherwise. Knowing that in the long-run the lighting would only continue to drain her stamina Izuka opted to fight with waterbending for a bit in order to recover her previously lost stamina.
Up in the Stands - Mirio, Wazurawashī, Nejire, and Tamaki
Wazurawashī watched Izuka in fear. Knowing that someone so young had that much power and a lot of control was both impressive and terrifying. He was also scared because he was pretty sure he pissed on the first day and was scared that it would come back to bite him.
Mirio watched Izuka in amazement. He had met her before and from what he saw gaged that she was powerful, he didn't realize just how powerful she really was. He definitely wanted to spar with her later.
Nejire watched Izuka in fascination. She had been dragged here by Mirio insisting that she watch. She was incredibly grateful that she decided to come because the fight that was currently taking place was EPIC. The girl below was an absolute powerhouse and knew how to apply her quirk to close combat, distance fighting, and dodging. She could already tell that the girl below was going to be an amazing hero and definitely wanted to get to know her.
Tamaki watched Izuka dejectedly. There were so many powerful people in this world, he just couldn't keep up. He probably would have given up on becoming a hero a while ago had it not been for Mirio, Nejire, and Fat Gum. Watching the fight below him play out made him feel even less confident in his abilities, he just wanted to go home.
Back in the Arena
Izuka stomped on the ground ice forming around the android trapping it. She then created as much water as she could before the android broke free. Once the android shattered through the ice she immediately shot out a tendril of water knocking the android back a couple of steps. She kept going for a bit longer until she noticed that she was pulling the android along with the tendrils of water.
Curious she moved all the water to the side freezing it before holding her hands in front of her. She could feel the liquid running through the android and smiled brightly realizing she had a huge advantage now. She immediately froze the water inside of the android making its eyes flash red. She released her hold on the android causing it to crash to the floor.
"Victory goes to Izuka" Power Loader said, shocked silence meeting his announcement
Izuka stood in the arena wanting to hide in order to divert all the eyes on her. A few moments later everyone broke out of their shock and applauded Izuka who gave an awkward wave unsure of what to do. People started walking into the arena to praise Izukaʻs quirk and ask her more about it.
She was finally saved from her social awkwardness when she was found by Carlos, Daisuke, Akio, and Myumi.
"Thatʻs my Small Bean!" Carlos said fondly ruffling her hair
"Great job Izu, I knew you could do it" Daisuke cheered
"Youʻve gotten way better since I last saw you" Myumi said proudly
"Although the ending was a bit anticlimactic you did good" Akio said
"Thanks guys" Izuka said blushing at all the praise
"Izuka! Iʻm so proud of you honey!" Inko said, hugging her daughter "I wonʻt lie, you almost gave me a heart attack during your fight but itʻs amazing to see how much you have grown in a month" Inko said, Izuka smiled softly and hugged her mom back.
"I better head out, my shift is going to start soon and I canʻt afford to be late" Inko said letting go of her daughter
"Okay mom, see you later" Izuka said
"We should probably get going now too" Carlos said grabbing Akio and Daisuke
"Oh right, Iʻm sorry Izuka but I wonʻt be able to train you today" Akio said
"Donʻt worry about it, I was planning on going over my fighting strategies. Myumi, can I ask you a couple of things, if you're free of course!" Izuka said
"Iʻm free now," Myumi said
"Itʻs just, Iʻm going back to school in a couple of days and donʻt know how to handle the whole new quirk situation. What are the rules? Can I defend myself and others? What if a villain attacks, can I stop them?" Izuka asked
Myumi looked at Izuka in amusement before saying "In normal circumstances you would have to wait for the provisional hero license exam before you're able to actively fight against villains, but there are a couple of strings I could pull. Iʻll be able to get you a quirk license, it allows you to use your quirk in public" Myumi said
"Really, you can do that?" Izuka asked
"Of course, I trust you to be responsible with it" Myumi said
"O-of course!" Izuka said
"Good, you can stop by my office at the end of the day to pick up" Myumi said
"Thank you!" Izuka said smiling brightly
"No problem kid" Myumi said as she walked away
Izuka looked around the arena, it was completely deserted except for 4 kids that looked slightly older than her. She tensed up when she realized that two of them confronted her on her first day. She physically took a step back when they started walking towards her.
A pretty girl with periwinkle colored hair raised her hand and Izuka flinched back expecting to be hit. She was surprised when the girl's hand landed right in front of her, Izuka looked up at the older girl in confusion.
She gave a bright smile and said "Hi, my nameʻs Hado Nejire but you can call me Nejire! What you did was amazing!"
Izuka was extremely confused now, she wasn't used to people around her age being nice to her. She then realized she developed an extremely powerful quirk and the girl in front of her, Nejire, didn't know of her previous quirklessness. Straightening up and smiling brightly Izuka shook Nejireʻs hand.
"Hi Iʻm Midoriya Izuka, you can call me Izuka if you want" Izuka said a bit shyly "Itʻs nice to meet you"
"Itʻs nice to meet you too! The kitten behind me is Amajiki Tamaki," Nejire said gesturing to a scared looking boy with messy indigo hair and elf like ears "Mirio and Wazurawashī told me that theyʻve met you" Nejire said
"Oh, um, yeah. I-I met them on the first day here" Izuka said her smile becoming a bit strained
"Hello Midoriya! Iʻm sorry for the way we treated you on the first day" MIrio said bowing
Izuka gave him a bright smile "Don't worry about it, we all make mistakes right? I mean neither of you knew what I was doing here and itʻs only natural to be skeptical about someone who doesn't look like their of the proper age to be here" she said
"Thatʻs good to know that you didn't hold it against us! I was wondering if you wanted to spar with me sometime" Mirio said
"Really?" Izuka asked her face lighting up "That would be awesome! I havenʻt really been able to spar against anyone other than Carlos and the androids" Izuka admitted
"Wow, I thought that someone as powerful as you would wouldnʻt fought with more people here" Mirio said
"Not really, Akio and Daisuke are more focused on me learning about my quirk, I do have 10 years to make up for" Izuka said sheepishly before freezing, realizing what she said. The other kids in front of her were looking at her with wide eyes and Izuka inwardly scowled.
ʻGod dammit Izuka, you just had to let your one chance at having some friends fly out of the window! Learn how to control that big mouth of yours or your not going to get anywhereʻ a small voice in the back of Izukaʻs mind screamed
"How long have you had your quirk?" Tamaki said suddenly much to the surprise everyone
"A little over a month…" Izuka said, sliding her mask on almost immediately prepared to face the harsh criticism
"Thatʻs amazing!" Nejire and Mirio exclaimed
"Huh?" Izuka said looked at them in confusion trying to figure out if they were being sarcastic or not
"Thatʻs impressive," Wazurawashī said, nodding at her with respect, "Youʻve got a lot of control for someone with a month old quirk. Iʻd like to spar with you as well if youʻd allow it" he said
"Me too!" Nejire added jumping up
Izuka stared at them confused as to why they werenʻt looking at her with disgust or anything "I used to be quirkless," Izuka said slowly as if talking to toddlers "Does that not bother you?" she asked
"Of course not silly! Why would that bother us?" Nejire asked brightly
"Oh, uh- I, um" Izuka stuttered, Nejireʻs response catching her off guard
Tamaki suddenly looked at Izuka as if heʻd seen her in a new light and looked a little less terrified "Iʻd like to joining your training sessions too" he said shyly "O-only if youʻre okay with that" he mumbled
Izuka looked at him gratefully and said "The more the merrier! When would work for you guys?
"How about right now, I donʻt know about you guys but Iʻm free" Wazurawashī said
"Yes! I wanna start as soon as possible!" Nejire exclaimed
"That sounds good. How about you sunshine? Do you need to get some snacks?" Mirio asked Tamaki
He nodded meekly and Mirio smiled warmly "I can come with you if you want"
Tamaki nodded again
"How about regrouping here at 11?" Izuka asked
"That should give us enough time to get what we need" Mirio said gesturing to him and Tamaki
"Gives me enough time to go through my warm-ups" Wazurawashī said
"I can get to know you in the meantime!" Nejire announced
"Okay see you all at 11" Izuka announced
