Sakura wrapped the bandages around her arm, shivering a little in pain and coldness. Sasuke was asleep next to her, breathing unevenly as he slept, and Naruto was to the right of him, snoring softly. The events of the past night still seemed unclear to her, and she was still trying to sort things out. It was playing like a slightly warped movie in her head, and she lay back and let it play.

The battle, she thought, the battle came first. I was hurt so badly in that battle. It was against that boy, even younger than Naruto. He couldn't have been any older than Naruto was, but he fought better than Sensei. I think we all underestimated that boy. He fought with no jutsu, only his arrows. Sakura ran her hand along the scar on her arm, and licked her cracking lips. He hit Naruto first, but it didn't hurt him much. Although he's annoying, it scared me, seeing him hurting like that. It was his side, and it wasn't a very long cut, it hardly tore the fabric of his clothing. It was terrifying for him. It terrified Sasuke and me even more. I was visibly trembling, and that boy saw me as the weak point. Therefore, he shot at me. That was how I hurt my arm. For Naruto, the arrows made him a bit delusional. He started saying nonsense, and eventually we sent him back to camp. Being hit only made Sasuke fight and me fight harder! I was scared, I have to admit it, but courage saw me through. We won against that boy. On the way back to camp, I think I fainted or something. The last thing I remember is a sudden darkness.

"How did I get back to camp?" Sakura asked aloud, waking Sasuke from his light, dreamless sleep.

Why, Sasuke wondered, why did I carry her back? Was it because she was so weak? So vulnerable? She fainted so suddenly that it frightened me, and I did the first thing that came to my mind. I was worried that the boy would return. I was worried about her, that's why I did it. She was so amazing in battle that I was truly dumbfounded. I'd always thought of Sakura as a bit weak, I saw her only as an insane girl with a huge crush on me. I realize now that I was wrong. She might be insane, but she also can kick ass.

"I brought you back." Sasuke said.

"You did?" Sakura asked, after a long pause.

"You fainted on the way back, most likely because you lost so much blood."

"I thought you saw me as annoying."

"You're my teammate, my friend." Sasuke rolled over to face her, and Sakura did the same.

"Friends, that's all?" Sakura asked, disappointed.

"No, that's not all." Sasuke said, and pressed his lips against her's.

"You know what, Sakura?" Sasuke asked as they finally broke apart.

"What?" Sakura asked.

"You kick ass."
