Title: Worth It

Rating: K+

Summary: Janto drabble. Being with Ianto makes Jack realise that it's all worth it.

Disclaimer: If I owned Torchwood, the show would consist of little other than Jack and Ianto making out each episode.

Author's Note: I was inspired to write this after reading this line in a recap of Dead Man Walking:

"Jack angrily kicks down the sign in front that reads 'St. Mary's Church.' Like it's the sign's fault Owen's dead and Jack has to shlep all over Cardiff looking for 'it' when he'd rather be home snuggling with Ianto watching reruns of Smallville."

Worth It

In Ianto Jones' flat, Jack and Ianto were on the couch. Jack was sitting upright on one end, but Ianto was lying down, his head in Jack's lap. The TV was on, but Jack had stopped watching or caring a while beforehand. He was simply content with being here. No aliens, no guns – just him and Ianto.

He marvelled at the fact that after all this time, he could still have feelings for someone. And what he felt for Ianto was amazing at times, considering everything they'd been through. Here was the man who had threatened to kill him for destroying what was left of his girlfriend, and now they were lying here together, the bond between them stronger than ever.

He looked down at his young lover, who was engrossed in the program on TV. Watching his face light up in child-like wonder made Jack remind himself that this was the man who faced danger on a daily basis; who had witnessed death, and destruction, and the most horrible things. And yet he could still laugh, and smile, and make Jack feel like the luckiest man in the world.

Slowly, Jack pressed a kiss to Ianto's forehead. After a moment, Ianto turned to Jack and looked at him.

"What was that for?" he questioned. Jack smiled.

"Do I need a reason?" he said. He then closed his eyes and pressed his lips to Ianto's, not requiring anything from it other than knowing that he was loved.

Captain Jack Harkness had had a hard life. But people like Ianto Jones reminded him why it was all worth it.

I was a little annoyed last night when I missed out on my weekly Janto hour, in which I watch Janto vids and read Janto fics. At least this kinda makes up for it.
