Author's Notes: This is the last chapter as promised. Thank you for all the reviews and support. The next story will be called Arkham Rising and will be posted on the YJ page despite it being a crossover as well. To answer a few questions, there will be some Marvel elements integrated, but it is overall a rewrite of the DC Universe. Jake will adopt a new persona but it will not be Ravager for a very good reason. And above all, he will get onto the Justice League's radar.

Thanks again for reading and be on the look out for the sequel as well as Ravager's story.

Epilogue: Beginnings

[Location Unknown]
[August 4, 11:16:03 UTC]

"I'm sorry, Master, but he is gone. I did not get to study him as you wished." The rather fit man said over the video-chat as he bowed his head, careful not to let his glasses fall from his face. "Shall I continue with Protocol Ten?"

"Yes," Ra's said in the comforts of his unknown base. "Have Nyssa manage the details for Protocol Ten while Talia replaces me in businesses with The Light."

"Yes Master."

"Oh, and Strange," Ra's said. "Fail me and you will lose more than your practice next time."

"Failure is not in my future. I have outsmarted Bane, outsmarted Batman, and have out-lived Red X. I will complete your dreams as the true heir of the demon." Hugo Strange says before ending the call.

Ra's highly doubted the man's words. It was Hugo who sent the Hive Five to Jake's residence in hopes of defeating the boy and failing. It was Strange who suggested that Nyssa be affected by Queen Bee as she was one of the few who knew most, if not all, of Jake's moves in and out of his Red X suit. The reason Kitty even had the Pink X suit was so Hugo could assess how someone as "egotistical" as Jake reacted when someone "mimicked him". Hell, Hugo went as far as to tip Victor Fries off to which ended in Red X's ultimate failure.

But this was to be expected. Ra's always did things in two. Batman and Bane. Talia and Nyssa. And now Jake and Hugo. Both were fighting to be his true heir since neither Bruce nor Bane seemed interested anymore. Hugo took a subtle approach, scouting Jake out from a distance while analyzing his every move, even up to the boy's death. Jake had no idea about Hugo and yet somehow irritated the man in every which way.

Jake was athletic.

Jake was a well-trained fighter.

Jake was a tactician.

And Jake held Talia's vote of confidence.

Hugo had none of that. Despite being the mastermind of several successful events that favored the League of Assassins, Hugo was still just the brains. Jake was brains and brawns. The man wanted to eliminate the boy in every way. Or, he did. Now with Jake out of the way, Hugo Strange was next in line to be the leader of the League of Assassins. And Protocol Ten was the perfect way to gain such a title.

Ra's walks out of the room, down a labyrinth of dark hallways and corridors until he entered a large open room that resembled a closed-in arena. In the middle of said arena stood the person that made Ra's take the precautions of going somewhere that even Vandal doesn't know about.

"Batman doesn't kill. Bane couldn't kill Batman. And Hugo couldn't hold a candle to them in a fight." Ra's said. "But you… You're the boy that cheated death. Not even your sister could do that."

"I'm not here to talk about Rose." said Jake. "I'm here to complete my training and return to finish what I started with those little bastards. They killed Rose. They shot Jade. They must be taught a lesson."

"And a lesson you shall teach them." Ra's said. "Now, grab a sword. We shall begin."

Jake Nathaniel Cross had done the impossible. He had slept with two former Teen Titans that once wanted him dead. He had stolen the Red X suit from Titans Tower. He had annoyed Lady Shiva and lived to tell about it. And he had fallen several of stories and was very much alive. But above all, he had conned the great Ra's al Ghul.

The Young Justice team was not Jake's target, Ra's and Strange were. Klarion was a target. Lex Luthor was a target. Queen Bee was a target. The Brain was a target. Ocean-Master was a target. And above all, Vandal Savage was a target. The Light was going to meet its match and Jake swore that he would personally kill every single member until none remained.

And now that Red X was dead, nothing would stand in his way.

Not even himself.
