"Lieutenant. How much more paperwork is there?"

"There wouldn't be that much if you would just get to work sir."

Roy continued to procrastinate as the rain poured down. He really wanted to go home, but he knew he would get drenched if he left. That was why he was in his office not working. Everyone else had gone home but him and his loyal subordinate, Riza Hawkeye. She had insisted on staying to help him finish things up. But she wasn't having any luck. Riza sat down and started signing papers. Roy watched her.

"Sir please get to work."

"But it's raining."

"Are you telling me that's the reason you won't work!?"

"Maybe?"

"Dammit Mustang!"

"Awww come on Hawkeye. It could be worse." Roy said while looking at her innocently. Riza glared at him and he chuckled nervously.

"Sir...I would like to get home at some point. Tonight."

"I never said you had to stay."

"Well I am until you finish."

"Fine..." Roy started signing papers. Riza turned to her stack and got to work. She was glad that she had asked Fuery to take care of Hayate tonight. Every time it rained Roy would stop working so he wouldn't have to go out in the rain. After about two hours of working, they finally finished up. Riza stood up and collected all the papers while Roy sat in his chair staring out the window. She left the office to turn in the paperwork. Roy looked around the room when she was gone. They would all be back to do more paperwork tomorrow. The life of a soldier really was boring, but it's better than war. Riza came back a few minutes later.

"Sir. Aren't you going home?"

"In a minute."

Riza sighed and pulled on her coat. She reached into her pocket to make sure she had her keys. When she searched she didn't find them. All she found was a piece of paper. She pulled it out and read it.

Sorry Hawkeye. I was ordered to take your keys.

Havoc

"Really Colonel? You had Havoc take my keys?"

"So what if I did Lieutenant?"

"Sir..."

"Looks like you get to come home with me." Roy gave Riza his trademark smirk and she had to hold herself back from killing him right then and there.

"Damn you Colonel."

"Let's go Hawkeye."

"Fine." Riza waited for Roy to grab his stuff and then they left. When they exited the building Riza held the umbrella over her and Roy. They started walking. Riza didn't say anything. Roy could tell she was still angry.

'It's now or never...' Roy thought as he stopped under a street lamp. Riza stopped to see what made him stop.

"Sir?"

"There's no one out Riza."

"Colonel you know..."

"I just said your first name. It's not a crime."

"But still..."

Roy grabbed Riza and kissed her. She was startled and dropped the umbrella. Roy broke the kiss, but kept his arms around her. She shook her head and looked up at him with a smile.

"Roy Mustang don't you know it is against the law to fraternize?"

He sighed and closed his eyes in defeat.

'I knew I wasn't going to be able to win.' He suddenly felt Riza's lips on his again. She was kissing him! He kissed her back and tightened his hold on her. When they broke apart Riza was still smiling at him.

"You still mad Riza?"

"Only a little."

"Good. So shall we walk on?"

"It would be nice to stay like this forever, but you have a country to rule."

"I know...but someday I will make you mine Riza."

"I know you will sir."

"Back to the sir?"

"I have to keep you safe."

"When we get to my place will you drop the sir?"

"Only if it's an order."

Roy smiled and picked up the umbrella. "That's an order Hawkeye."
