Hey guys! I am back with another chapter!

However, lets deal with main problem. I know I am late in the chapter update, but as the college have started, I just found out that, our course have intensified quite a bit compared to last year. Meaning, I will be getting less free time. While I will try my best to update as often as possible. But like this time, it might take longer periods of time.

However, to make up for that, I will try to write longer chapters as that make it more efficient.

And that said, thank you for all the reviews. Love the response that I am getting!

And so lets go to the next chapter!

Tears prickled at the corner of her eyes, as she furiously wiped her nose. Her heavy feet climbed up the stairs relentlessly, trying to hold back the sobs that were trying to break through any moment. She finally reached the open door, as she escaped on to the roof, going further and further away. Not wanting anyone to see or hear her like this.

Her eyes shut themselves tight as the tears streamed down her unblemished cheeks, her fists were trembling at her sides.

Why? Why was this happening to her? Her class, her teachers, her best friend, all of them! Her very own mother refused to believe her, to give her the benefit of doubt! Refused to even give her a chance to justify, tell her side of story. Not a single moment of trust! Just what did she do to deserve this-OOF!

Miku slowly pulled herself up, as she rubbed her throbbing nose, "O-Ow…". She looked back with tear filled eyes, wondering just what the hell caused her fall, only to gasp in horror.

His body twitched for a moment, as he slowly sat up, rubbing his own throbbing head. His bleary eyes looked around, wondering just what hit him? His eyes finally focussed on the gaping girl, "Wha?"

Miku shivered in fright, of all the people in the world she has just walked over the boy who walks around with a real word! She hurriedly bowed her head, "G-Gomenasai! I-I wasn't looking where I was going and accidentally bumped into you!"

Naruto blinked sleepily, stupidly staring at the bowed head, "Hah...", he mumbled softly.

"…"

"H-Huh?", the orange head hesitantly moved up, wondering why she was still alive and not thrown off the roof.

Only to sweat drop as the boy has already gone back to sleep. She stared at the peacefully sleeping boy, who seems like he has not a single worry in this world. Her shoulders finally sagged, all her strength leaving her, as she fell back on her butt. A shudder passed through her, before she pulled her knees to her chest and buried her face there.

She sobbed

Naruto flatly stared at the sky. The girl has for some reason decided to just sit there and cry 'whatever it is' out for last 15 minutes. She could have done it a few feet away, but nooo! It has to be right where he was sleeping!

A slight huff left his lips as he sat up, rubbing his face to get rid of the sleepiness. Looking at the girl, he finally asked, "What's wrong?"

However, that seems to be a wrong thing to say to the weepy eyed girl, whose amber eyes widened. She stared at that somewhat annoyed face, before her eyes crinkled as if in pain. And she started bawling.

That was the first time someone asked that to her in 2 months.

Naruto stared deadpan, before he scooted closer, "Oi, shut up already. And your nose is running.", he muttered irritated.

The girl sniffled, trying to wipe her nose with her sleeve, but it wasn't really working.

He sighed, as he reached forward, patting where the pockets lie in a skirt, as he finally pulled out a handkerchief from the said skirt, offering it to the girl. The girl took it with shaking hands, before she blew her nose.

Looking at the sniffing girl, who seem to have collected herself for the moment, he nodded, "Now are you going to tell me what happened or not?"

And at that her face contorted once again, a new batch of tears tingling her eyes. As she buried her face in his chest, wailing loudly.

He stared flatly, before a sigh break through his lips, letting a hand rest on her head, he allowed the girl that little comfort.

Miku clanged even harder.

He stared at the cloud-filled sky, wondering just what did he do to deserve this. Why can't he have some private time and space on a fucking roof.

He sighed, as he rolled over to his left, letting the side of his head rest on his palm, he stared at the girl whom was sobbing right beside him, "What now?"

And at that her eyes wobbled even more. She had come here to tell him the truth, at least that's what she told herself. That she took advantage of his sympathy, that realizing he didn't know who she was, she ended up making him into her lifeline. However, that annoyed but plain tone told her everything. The boy hasn't changed from yesterday, even now he looked at her as just some plain girl crying.

Then how could she tell him that she is the famous slut of the school, how could she tell him that even a single day hasn't passed and people are already insulting him because of her. That she used him.

Even though she came here to apologize, to that one person who didn't call her a slut and pushed her away, unknowingly or not.

Naruto sighed, as he slowly sat up. Rubbing his head, tiredly, he again scooted close to her, "You know I am not some psychic that can get what you need without you telling shit."

Her eyes teared up once again. She knew, she just knew that her last safe haven, where she was able to achieve some semblance of peace, where she didn't have to run, didn't have to hide. It was about to be torn away from her.

She started crying.

Naruto stared deadpan.

His eyebrows twitched. Staring at the girl sitting there, where he always sleeps, still holding on to her knees.

But at least the girl was not crying yet, that was certainly an improvement compared to the last two days. Nodding to himself, he slowly moved closer to the girl, today was the day he gets all the answers from this crybaby, whom has finally realised that he has arrived.

She took in a shallow breath, realising it was finally time, to say goodbye to him. And thank him for all the sympathy he gave her. Though she was pretty sure he was going to spit in her face after knowing everything, just like everyone else. She was not looking forward to that, she really was not. But as she looked up in those almost glowing ashen orbs, before she could say or do anything, tears once again came to her eyes.

"U-Uzumaki-san~"

His eyebrows twitched viciously, 'That's fucking it!'

The girl yelped, as she suddenly felt herself lifted off the ground, her bleary tearful eyes flickering up in terror, wondering if the boy has finally found out and have decided throw her off the roof.

"G-Gomenasai!", she squeaked out terrified.

"Thank you for saving us. Are you the leader, Busujima-san?"

And the seemingly sweet voice pulled her out of her fatigue induced memories with a jerk. Amber coloured eyes rose, focussing on the glasses wearing teacher, smiling pleasantly at the Kendo Club Captain.

The Violette paused in her cleaning of the bokuto, her eyes momentarily flickering towards her best friend dozing beside a petulant Rei, "Leader?"

The questioning tone of the reply was all the hint Shido needed as he smiled thinly, "Yes.", his voice attaining a silky smooth quality, forcing others to open their ears to his words, "A leader is paramount in order for us to survive. One who manages everything."

Rei, grasped her arm even tighter, as she leaned into the blood-covered boy sitting beside her, "We are going to regret this."

He twitched slightly, bleary eyes flickering open, "Huh?"

Ruby eyes burned with hatred, "We shouldn't have saved him. We are going to regret it for sure!"

If it was possible, one could have seen question marks floating on top of his head at the sudden outburst of the girl.

"The City!"

However, their attention was taken by the shout, as all of them peered out of bus, looking at the city, most of them have grown up in. Just yesterday, they were down there in the bumbling city, enjoying themselves as anyone would expect them to. And yet, just a day later, it has become something like a ghost town out of movies.

And a moment later, Naruto decided he doesn't really care, as he snuggled back in his seat, dozing off once again.

"Like I said! We will never make it if we keep going!", the famous delinquent with coloured blonde hair exclaimed a third time, since they have left school.

His fingers dig in the faux leather seat, as he glared furiously, "First off, why do we have to do whatever you guys planned to do?! You all decided to go back to the city without talking to us!", He waved his hand around aggressively, "Couldn't we have just looked for a safe place inside the school?"

Auburn eyes crinkled, as she adjusted the seatbelt an umpteenth time, it was for some reason getting more and more uncomfortable by the moment.

Another boy from the delinquent's group hurriedly nodded, "He is right! We should find a place to hide, like that convenience store we just passed by."

Shizuka wondered if asking them to shut up would rude. But then again, she just rode over at least 50 or so of these students, a little while ago. Maybe she can ask them politely to be quiet for some time-

"There! Why didn't you stop?!"

Her eyebrows twitched, she has had it!

Slamming on the break hard, she instantly unlocked the seatbelt. Shizuka swivelled around with her tired auburn eyes, glaring daggers, "I have had enough! I can't drive with all of you yelling!"

The delinquent called Jin gaped for a long moment, his teenage perverted mind too distracted by the beautiful curvaceous doctor shouting at him, "W-What…the hell?"

And they used to think that the bimbo has no spine at all.

Saeko finally put down her bokuto, folding her arms under her bosom, "Then what do you wish to do?"

Jin stared back, gritting his teeth. He hated it! These people, all of them, the same! Arrogant son of bitches! Just like that guy! The humiliation of the past, slapping him right across the cheek. Especially because of the orange haired girl, sitting far back in the corner.

His fists trembled at his side, before he growled pointing at the sleeping boy, "I can't stand it! I just can't stand this guy!"

It seems like to be the wrong thing to say, as almost everyone's eyes narrowed, whether they like it or not, they most likely would not have been here if not for the sleeping boy.

Jin felt his blood boil, realising that the freak has not even twitched in his sleep, "T-This bastard-"

Ruby eyes snapped in furiousness, in one smooth move she was out of her seat, the pole burying in the guts of delinquent, as he crumbled to ground heaving out saliva.

Rei glared down at the dribbling boy disdainfully, "You suck."

A series of claps echoed in the bus, as the lanky teacher stepped forward, smiling pleasantly, "That was an excellent demonstration of discipline Miyamoto-san.", his eyes narrowed into thin slits, as he smiled craftily with a wave of his hand, "But, this conflict arose simply proves what I was saying earlier. We really do need a leader."

Pushing the glasses up her nose, Saya barely looked up, knowing well, where this was going, "And there is only one person that can do the job?"

Shido smiled condescendingly, "Well, Takagi-san, I am a teacher and the rest of you are students.", spreading his arms wide, he turned towards the back of the bus, where his students were sitting, "That alone should be enough to say who is more qualified. If I was the leader, I would prevent conflict. What do you all say? My dear students?"

The reply was a series of claps, the admiration bubbling up in the eyes of the students in the back.

He finally turned back to the auburn haired girl, as he smiled almost spitefully, "Well that's that. I have become a leader by a majority vote."

Her body trembled, watching as the past was repeated all over again. All because of this filthy man, who spoiled her life, made her father to bow to her in repentance. Broke her family. She can't bear him, she just can't!

Rei stormed out of the bus.

Shido seems to look sad, "If you are saying that you can't get along, then we will just have to-

A flying rotor flew past him with a fierce whiz, smashing straight through the back windshield, without a loud shattering noise.

"-Split?", Shido ended up a little weakly, his eyes focussed on the scarred hand, from where the rotor just came from.

"Arghh!", a shriek of pain left him, as he held his now profusely bleeding cheek.

A groan escaped him, as he pulled himself out of his seat, cracking his neck on the way towards the back of the bus, "Gya Gya Gya Gya.", Naruto seems to breath out fire, his heavy steps stalking up to the teacher, who tried skitter back, only to fall over the convulsing boy on the ground. As now both of them crawled as far away as possible, from the menacing figure.

"Can't you see I am trying to sleep here?"

Shido shivered in fright, as he smiled nervously, the last memory of the snarling scarred face, making him convulse his legs, "U-U-U-Uzumaki-kun, I-I was just saying that we need a leader-"

"And our Leader told you people to shut the fuck up.", Naruto retorted.

Shido looked completely blank for a moment, before his eyes widened, "M-Marikawa-Sensei?!", he asked incredulously.

Said woman jumped in the driving seat, sweating buckets. Why did she go ahead and opened her mouth?!

However, Naruto only smiled sweetly, as he held out his hand.

Everyone jerked, as they heard something hammering into the back of the bus, before long a crimson daito tore through the metal, tearing through the back seat, as it slid back into his palm with an almost unnatural grace.

"Any problem with that?"

All colour drained from Shido's face. He just realised that the boy standing before him with that demonic looking sword that seems to have been dipped in blood of millions was not the person he thought he was.

The new image that was constructed was in no way pleasant.

"N-No at all.", the man squeaked out.

Naruto nodded smiling pleasantly, as he slowly turned around, only to halt mid-way.

He turned back as he reached out to his left and pulled.

"Owowowowow! It hurts! Naruto-kun, it hurts!", the orange haired girl yelped out, waving her hand frantically, till the man let go.

She rubbed her cheek, glaring up with weepy eyes, only to wilt when she stared in those dull boring eyes.

"Miku."

The girl jumped in her shoes.

Looking at the scared and crestfallen expression of the girl, he just sighed. Gripping the bridge of his nose, he jerked his head towards the front of the bus, "Go sit with Saeko."

The girl timidly bobbed her head, before she walked to the front of the bus, taking a seat beside the sword mistress whom gave her a friendly smile.

Which she tried to return, albeit pathetically.

"Shido…"

The man's eyes almost popped out of his sockets, as the heavy shoe landed on his family jewels. A pathetic cry of pain left his lips, as tears rolled down his cheeks. He could barely breathe.

Ashen orbs stared down at the contorted disgusting face, "If you approached anyone that is part of our group, anyone. I am going to maim you."

The threat was delivered in a simple conversational tone.

But that pleasant smile, oh that pleasant smile made him realise that boy won't even bat an eyelash before ripping his head off.

He furiously nodded.

With a huff, he turned back to the front, taking the sheath from the hesitantly smiling Takuzo, and in the same motion, snapping it to the chin of the brown haired boy whom was about to open his mouth, as Raikou rolled back into the black haired girl, weeping. The girl whom was about to open her mouth, too crumbled over the boy holding her pulsating head where the Midnight coloured sheath has struck. He really wasn't in mood of any blabber. His eyes focused on Kendo president who motioned for the bus door.

He sighed, as he barely nodded, getting off the bus.

His eyes flickered to the girl standing under the street lamp at the corner of the tunnel, "What, you suddenly becoming a nocturnal?"

But she was not in the mood of jokes, as she glared back, tears tingling at the corner of her eyes, "I won't do it! I won't stay with him no matter what!"

Naruto tilted his head, "Fine, then throw him out."

"E-Eh?"

Naruto peered deep in her eyes, "If you don't want him there, then throw him and all those students out right now. It's not like I particularly care about any of them."

She jerked back slightly, her eyes wide, "W-What are you saying, we can't just leave them to die-"

Her eyes widened, peering in the dull argent eyes, before they lowered.

He sighed softly, seems like the girl realised what she was actually telling them to do all along.

He rubbed his head tiredly, "Let's go back. It's only a few hours, we will be parting ways after that."

"We will?", she asked quietly.

He gave an amused smiled, waving his sword, "She doesn't really like going up people's asses. Rather she would scream my head off."

A smile cracked on her lips, "I guess, we can't let her do that-"

CRASH!

Their eyes instantly snapped, looking at the giant bus, flying through the air, right towards them.

Naruto has only one thing to say.

"Well, shit."

Saeko hurriedly ran down the bus, moving close towards the already burning bus, worry seeping in her voice, "Naruto-kun! Are you two unharmed?!"

"Fucking shit! I swear to god that I am going to fuck those people over, who did this!"

And a string of beautiful curses replied her.

She sighed in relief, knowing the man seems to have escaped unscathed.

Naruto sighed, as he dusted his clothes, "Saeko, we will meet at East Police Station."

"At what time?", she shouted back.

"7 PM", his eyes flickering to the auburn head who was finally on her knees.

She nodded, "If not today then tomorrow!"

"Why the fuck are these things still moving?!"

Saeko wanted to ask the same question, but to their luck the burning corpses started falling down one by one.

Spark!

Naruto blinked, before his eyes widened looking at the leaking gasoline, "Shit! Saeko! Get back!"

The girl stiffened, before she quickly skipped back.

Naruto tsk'd, as he scooped the girl up in one smooth move, as the auburn-head squawked.

"God, you fucking hate me, don't you?!"

Rei's eyes flickered back towards the bus, watching as the gasoline poured out like a stream, "Will we make it?!"

"What? You don't trust me?", Naruto asked mock hurt, as he raced towards the exit of the tunnel.

A glorious roar echoed in the tunnel, the sound echoing till a mile away, the heated wind whizzing past them, as it seems to suck for just a moment. And finally the fire rose to life, roaring like a beast.

"It's coming!", Rei shouted terrified, looking at the cloud of flames racing their way.

"Annnnd we are out.", Naruto replied, as he came to a stop near a set of stairs. Turning back to the tunnel, he watched as the flames receded back after the explosion.

Rei sighed in relief, this day keep getting better and better. Her eyes flickered up, as her cheeks flushed, realising that the boy was still holding her in his arms, "Y-You can put me down-Oof!"

Naruto dropped her like a sack of potatoes, as he walked around irritated, "Why?! Oh God why?! Why can't you let me have some sleep?!"

Rei rubbed her butt, her teary eyes glaring at the boy, as she pouted, "Can't you be a little less callous?", she mumbled barely. However, she blinked, looking at the white sneakers on the stairs right in front of her, "Huh?"

She yelped, as the zombie stumbled from the stairs falling right on top her, as she hurriedly raised her hands, stopping the helmet before it could collide with her head.

"Just what did I do wrong to you fuckers?!"

She hurriedly tried to push the helmet back, as she could literally see the jaw snapping behind the clouded visor.

"N-Naruto!", She screamed.

"What?!", he snapped back to the girl, irritated beyond belief.

"Help!"

He stared at the helmet covered zombie, as a growl left his lips. He took two long strides, his left leg planting right beside the long auburn tresses, before his right foot came down in a beautiful arc.

And smashed right into the helmet.

"Motherfucking Hell!"

Though Rei heard the loud curse, her eyes were focussed on the helmet, that seems to change shape for just a moment, before it tore open, the foot colliding with the head inside. She should have felt disgust, but she didn't. The blood ruptured from the opposite end of the skull, before it collided with the interior of the helmet. Brain matter seemingly breaking through the cranium. The momentum taking the body, as the undead flew through the air, spinning horizontally.

And Rei blinked.

She panted harshly, is it just her or did she just saw something amazing? Because she was pretty sure, no one else has ever made a living paste out of a human head before and with a kick at that.

Naruto plopped down beside the girl, as he ran a hand through his bloodied hair, the dried flakes of blood finally coming off, "You alright?"

She panted even more, taking big gulps of air. A chuckle breaking through her lips, before she broke into a laughter, "You should play football!"

He blinked, before a wry smile slipped on his lips, as he too lied down on the concrete ground to her left. A heavy sigh leaving him, "Guess you are."

Ruby eyes peered at the starry sky, it looked so beautiful, especially with the full moon. To think, she could still appreciate it like this even after all that they have gone through.

"I am sorry.", she mumbled softly.

"For what?"

'Everything.', she thought to herself, remembering each and everything that has happened between them over the time. Most of them, not good, "We are stuck here because of me."

Naruto merely hummed, before he shrugged, "Meh. I prefer it more than you ranting about how that snake spoiled your life for next 10 hours in that bus."

She giggled with a slight pout, only to blink owlishly.

Wait. What?

She instantly shot up, gaping at the boy, "W-Wait! How do you know that?!"

Naruto snorted, "Either you think you are a great actor or that I am as dumb as a rock."

Her eyes crinkled before she looked away, "I-I see…", and she thought she was equal to a pebble in his life, not worth paying attention to.

She sighed, to think the boy knew everything, and has simply never said anything. She shook her head, now was not the time for that. Getting up to her feet, she glanced towards the distant moon, something she has often compared his seemingly all-seeing eyes to.

A smile worked onto her lips, she existed after all.

He blinked, looking at the lithe extended hand, his eyes flickered up to the smiling ruby eyes, "Let's go, Naruto."

A smile worked up to his lips, as he grasped the hand, pulling himself up, "You know, you look much better with a smile.", he replied, as he used his palm to rub a smudge of blood from her forehead.

Her face mussed, before she looked up in those ashen orbs. She hurriedly looked away, trying to hide her flushed face, "Are we going to walk to the city?"

"Hah? Over my dead body.", he retorted, as he climbed the flight of stairs.

Her eyebrows furrowed, "Mou! Can you not say it that way?"

He didn't reply, his eyes flickering around, as he walked further towards the canal, before a grin slipped on his lips, "Bingo."

Rei blinked, as she too followed his eyes, looking at the dirt bike, "Ah, yes! He was wearing a helmet!"

Naruto stepped down the slope, to the bike, "For once we are in luck. It's still seems okay."

She smiled mirthfully, watching as the boy dragged it back on the road, climbing up, "Do you even have a license?"

Pulling out the starter pedal, he gave a hard kick, as the bike roared to life, before looking at the girl offended, "Of course I have. I am a law abiding citizen, you know."

She snorted, says the guys who kicks his teachers.

"Come on, we got ground to cover."

Rei shook her head, as she too climbed behind him. Maybe she should take a lesson from him and be a little more carefree.

"Then hold tight."

"Huh? Wait! Let me holddddddddddd!"

Shizuka bit on her lip, it was back. That nagging feeling that she won't be able see him again. Will never get to laugh at the silliest things they talk about. Will never get to see him roll in the bed to find that perfect spot. Will never be able to see that precious smile that he gave her once in a blue moon.

Her eyes momentarily flickered towards the Indigo haired girl, "He- They will be alright?", she asked hesitantly.

Saeko was silent for a moment, her eyes flickering around carefully, making sure that something similar to that bus was not going to come hurling at them again. However, she could very well understand the worry the nurse was expressing. As a team, they had barely survived, now it's just the two of them out there.

"…Yes.", she smiled as confidently as she could, "Naruto-kun is strong."

"That's right!"

Their eyes flickered to the brown haired boy, who walked to the front of the bus, smiling widely, "It's Naruto-Senpai we are talking about. If anyone can do it, it's him!"

"He is right.", Saya folded her arms, "He is the kind of idiot, who can shout at the top of his lungs and still walk right through them."

At that everyone of their cracked a smile.

Ruby eyes gazed down at the streets filled with the walking corpses. All limping towards some noise, almost in a kind of unity, "Do you think someone will come to help us?", Rei asked gloomily.

"Nope."

She stared at him as if he just kicked her kitty, "But why?! How can you say that?"

He smiled amused, "I asked one of them."

"Naruto!", she exclaimed distraught.

He sighed, "Hai, Hai. Well, It's because we are not important enough or rich for that matter. The mighty have already reserved the government. So thinking you will get help in foreseeable future is stupidity."

"Foreseeable future…how long is that going to be?", she asked timidly.

"Who knows. But well, it would be better if one goes with the mind-set of no help is going to come."

"Ever? Then how are we going to go through this?", she asked worriedly.

"Wing it.", he replied blandly.

She stared at him, before her eyes crinkled, "You are always like this. You always say things that shouldn't be said."

"And?", was the confused reply.

"You could have said it differently!", Rei retorted.

He stared at her for a moment, "…We should get help tomorrow?", he tested.

She gaped at him, "That! That's what I am talki-", however she stopped mid-sentence, as she jerked with the countless groans slowly closing around them.

"How about, we will get help tomorrow for sure!"

Rei gawked at him, before she patted his shoulder hurriedly, "Just go! Let's just go!"

He pouted, "And here I was trying so hard."

Some time later

Saeko peered around in the traffic, surprisingly the police were dealing with the undead quite efficiently, shooting anything that would not follow orders. How the democratic rule has dwindled so fast was quite amazing in its own sense, especially after how long it took japan to reach this point, "We roughly progress one kilometre an hour."

Saya frowned, "I wonder if we can even make it over the bridge before morning at this rate?"

Grooooowl~

Her eyebrows twitched, glaring at the chubby boy, who was rubbing his stomach for umpteenth time. It has been going on for an hour already!

"Put a lid on it already!"

Hirano jerked, before he seems to curl in a ball, rubbing his stomach, "Put a lid on it? But…I am hungry…"

BANG! BANG!

However, their attention was taken by the gunshots outside.

Saya's train of thought was similar to that of sword mistress. She has to give it to the Japanese police, they work fast and hard, when it comes down to it. They have yet to see an incident of one more transforming into a zombie around them.

"KYAAH!"

The genius sighed to herself, and compared to that, the two girls sitting behind her have been screaming at every little thing! Just how did they survive through that jungle of zombies?!

And the lanky teacher seems to slither beside them with a silky smooth grace, as he cooed to the two girls in a sweet voice, "We are safe in here."

The two girl looked at the teacher fearfully, their fearful eyes looking at him in hope.

Shido merely smiled, before he wrapped his arms around their heads, his soothing voice in their ears, "We are safe in here. Absolutely."

"Sensei…"

Shido only gave a hidden smirk at the relieved voice, as he rubbed their heads, "There is nothing to worry about. Nothing at all~"

Hirano looked away from the scene going behind him, that was something he never wanted see. Not ever again after school. But the loud sound of gunshots had made him revive his earlier train of thought, "They attract to sound, like at the exit. But I can't understand why we didn't have to face any, when Naruto shouted."

Especially because he was pretty sure, he was going to die at that moment.

Saya blinked, before she huffed, folding her arms under her bosom as she leaned back, "That's because he planned it that way."

A number of eyes flickered open at that.

"Planned you say?", the black haired Soujutsu Club President asked sceptically.

Saya glanced at the girl, before she nodded, "Our Principle is a Christian fanatic, so all three school buildings are made into the shape of three crucifixes from Christianity.

Saeko titled her head, "You mean the Christ and the two thieves?"

She nodded, making three crosses side by side in the air, to show exactly what she meant, "When we saw you guys, we were at one of the junctions of these crosses. So it's like an L."

Miku blinked confused, wondering how an L can let them get away, before her eyes widened "And there are only doors at the end of the hallways…"

Hirano blinked confused.

Saeko shook her head, finally understanding what the girl meant by an L, and to think she doubted him, "While these things are strong, they are not strong enough to break through walls. So even if hundreds of them hammered into the wall right below us, there is simply no way for them to get in, except maybe some from the windows."

But the girl, once called Hanage narrowed her eyes, peering beyond the sleeping Raikou. At the corpses, stumbling in the streets, "And I guess these things don't really know how to climb the stairs."

Hirano gawked, "W-Wait, you mean Naruto thought of all that before shouting?!"

Saya huffed, pouting ever so slightly, "Didn't I tell you, Chubby? The only thing he is bad at is staying awake."

Hirano smiled nervously, "Ahaha…"

His friend is scarier than he initially thought.

No sound could be heard except the loud hum of the motorcycle, as they trod through the streets at a mellow pace.

"There is no one here…"

Rei strained her ears to listen to anything that would break the heavy silence of the city, but no luck. As her eyes flickered around, from one bloodied shop door to another, to the broken poles, and yet not a single human was there.

Alive or Undead.

He took a turn to the right, uncaring of the of huge splotch of the blood on the ground, as he simply passed through, "Most likely ran away and some died."

"If they died they would be walking around!"

He took a left turn, "No food left here, right?", he asked, though his eyes flickered around, "That reminds me, I am hungry."

Her fingers tightened on her pole and the mid-night coloured sheath, "Even now?", she asked irritated.

"Especially now.", he replied lazily, as he took a right turn.

She gaped at the Gasoline plus Convenience store, they have stopped at, "We are actually stopping for food?!"

He looked back at the girl flatly, "So amazing that gasoline never came to your mind."

She jerked, before she glared, getting off with a huff, "Fine!"

He snorted to himself, as he too got off, moving for the Gasoline pump.

And he froze.

Rei felt herself stiffening, as her eyes worriedly looked around, "Naruto?"

He slowly turned to the girl, his eyes dead serious, "Rei."

"W-What is it?", the girl asked scared, wondering just what could get him so serious.

Suddenly he smiled, rubbing his neck, "Can I borrow some money?"

And the girl face faulted.

Hurriedly standing up, she glared at him, it was taking her all not to just jump at him and strangle him, "You! You suck!"

Naruto huffed, "Well, what can I do? My accountant is dead."

And that was like a slap right across her face, as she flinched back.

He held out his hand expectantly, "Money."

She blinked owlishly, before she looked away, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment, "I left my wallet in my bag…"

He stared deadpan, "And this accountant is useless."

The girl glared at him, but hurriedly extended her arms, looking at the brown cloth bag flung her way, as she caught it, barely stopping herself from falling over.

"G-Gah! Just what are you carrying?!"

Naruto was already walking towards the convenient store, "Well, be careful. Call me, if something happens."

Naruto hummed, as he looked around in the dark convenient store, "Anybody home?", he called lazily, as he took a slow walk down the aisle.

Pulling open the fridge he took a water bottle, as he twisted it open, he looked around at the snacks aisle. His eyes lingering for a moment that felt longer than it was, before he sighed, walking back towards the counter, "Guess we don't have time right now."

Swiping a chocolate from the shelf, he tore it open, as popped it in his mouth, coming around to the cash register, "Lebs shee…"

Rei sighed, as she leaned against a pillar. It has always been like this; he has never cared. Not ever. From the very first meeting, he was this callous, not caring in the least about others at all.

The enigma was like a vault, that would spew a stream of insults every time someone touched him.

"My accountant is dead."

Her eyes crinkled, it seems like she was wrong again. Even though he has walked away so easily, even though it has looked so easy. It Really Was Not. They were just too close.

No wonder she hates him for it.

Though a soft smile graced her lips, as she remembered all the times he went out of his way to save her, "Though I guess I should ease on him…especially now…"

Though now that she thinks about it, she wonders why her Father talked with so much familiarity on the phone.

However, all her stray thoughts came to a grinding halt as the gnarly hand grabbed her viciously.

A piercing scream left her lips, as she felt the blocky fingers tightening on her breast. Waiting for that vicious bite coming for her jugular any second. However, it was at that moment, when she felt the sharp edge of a knife pressed against her throat did she realise it was not a groaning zombie. And with that came the realisation with the sinking heart, as disgust filled her, the hand incessantly groping her breast.

It was a real human being.

The half-eaten chocolate bar fell on the floor with a crackle of the wrapper, but the messy head was already gone. His steps taking him to where the auburn head was supposed to be at breakneck speeds. Only for him to freeze, his dull eyes frosting over like the ninth hell, before they narrowed into two thin chips of iceberg.

The junkie with braced teeth, hurriedly pulled the knife to neck, as he laughed raucously, "Hey Bro! Your girl is pretty sweet!"

But there was no reply from the frozen boy.

"I am right! Aren't I? You must be fucking her every night!"

Rei let out a strangled scream, as the man gripped harder, tears prickling at the corner of her eyes, "N-Naruto…"

The metal braces glinted under the tube light, as he stared at the frozen boy with wide glinting eyes, "But now I need this woman, especially in this fucked up world! I already murdered my whole family!"

It was like some invisible strings pulled at the frozen figure, as the tall man took a step forward.

"Oi! You think I am joking?!"

Another step.

The bandana wearing man growled loudly, "You fucker! I murdered my own little sister! You think I won't kill this bitch?!"

But Naruto didn't stop, the chips of ice focussed solely on the flaring knife.

"Fucking stop!", the man shouted as he pointed the knife at the boy, only for Rei to choose that moment to try to break away.

"Naru…", however, her voice trailed off, along with the gust wind that moved past her.

A cry of pain escaped, as his back collided with the distributing station, before the multiple cracks echoed. The arm wielding the knife cracked like a thin wooden stick, breaking at multiple places, before the knife was buried in his own collar bone. His gnarly fingers still wrapped around the small knife.

A croak of pain left him, still too stumped to realise just what has happened.

However, that seems to have been the wrong thing to do, as the knife was roughly pried out his clavicle, tearing through the flesh and the fingers. Coating him in a layer of his own blood.

"ARGHHHH!"

The knife swirled expertly between the long callous fingers before Naruto sliced straight down the chest, till the stomach.

The man gurgled barely, his pain filled mind finally realising that his end is near.

Before a booted heel crashed into his face, indenting his head into the filling station. However, it was not the end, as more kicks rained down on his head. One after another, the cartilages snapping out of their places, burying in the face. As the bones cracked, caving in inside, the blood spurting out with each kick.

But Naruto didn't stop.

Kick after kick crashed into the deformed face, till it looked like nothing but a mess of broken bones and flesh and blood.

And the body finally stopped twitching.

A snarl left his lips, before he buried his foot into the place that used to be the face, easily breaking through the cranium, as the foot went straight through the brain, hitting the back of the skull.

Finally, Naruto pulled back, as he panted slightly, his chest heaving. His eyes flickering towards the girl lying stunned on the ground, before they widened.

He hurriedly crouched in front of her, "Rei!"

The girl twitched, her rattling eyes finally leaving the now headless corpse, as she gazed in that blood covered face.

"Are you alright?!"

However, that worried voice, broke through her trance. Ruby eyes finally coming into focus, as they crinkled, tears slipping past. The worry that she saw on that face for the first time in her life, it broke her down. She buried her face in his blood covered chest, "Naruto…!"

She cried.

Argent eyes crinkled, as he too slowly wrapped his arms around the girl. Hoping to provide what little comfort he can.

After all, that's all he can do.
