One thing I can say is that I'm really too old for this. Maybe. I've been reading Fanfic for the last ten years or so. I started out reading it about the X-Files and now it's Castle, Law and Order CI, some SVU, Lost, House and a little Torchwood. A certain writer has piqued my interest in Firefly. So I'm watching episodes on Hulu. I guess fanfiction is not far behind. The writer's strike a while back made me angry, so I ditched cable (much to my children's chagrin) so now I'm even more of an internet junkie. (And so are my children.) Speaking of my children, I have three and they're young, so sometimes it can take me a while to update.

In the last two years I have lost three people close to me. Two friends have lost their children in tragic accidents (not the same one). Both little girls were under the age of nine. Another friend of mine died of a brain tumor leaving behind his wife, also a friend of mine, and their five children. So I guess I've started writing as a form of antidepressant.

So I was checking out my profile and recognized that it needed to be updated (since the above paragraphs were written last year). I no longer feel too old for this. My father passed away this year and I've decided that sometimes medication is necessary. But the writing definitely helps to keep the spirits up. I will probably post things whether people read them or not, because I really write for my own mental health, but I do like the reviews (positive and negative).
