Hikaru & Kaoru Hitatchiin - Ouran High School Host Club
They are both without a doubt in one of my all time favorite manga and anime, and also two of my favorite characters of all time. All the time when twin characters pop up in books and movies, the twins were always "complete opposites of each other". One twin may have been the studious type, getting good grades and a cold attitude. But the other twin may have been super athletic and very social. However in their case, it is quite different. They're both pranksters, adding the fun and comedy in the series Ouran High School Host Club, but they also include the side of them that lands on a more personal level. Their past and the way they think was unique and I was glad that throughout the manga and anime, there was character development and even a hint of romance. Nevertheless, the twins are absolutely hilarious but not just one of those side characters. They are two big attributes to the main plot and Ouran just wouldn't be complete without them.

Mitsukuni "Hunny" Haninozuka - Ouran High School Host Club
First of all, the adorable appearance. To be able to look like a mere 7-year old even though in the story he is a high school senior has already made me realize that he sort of belongs in the "Comedy" characters. He could most likely wipe out an entire army with his intense kung-fu skills, and not only that but he probably eats twice the amount of cake I would ever eat in my entire life everyday. His cute nature and let's not forget the guy who plays "Big Brother" Mori-senpai. It was amusing to learn about his brother, and it gave off the impression that even though a lot of times he seems just like a kid, he is actually the mature grade 12 that he is. Because he seems to have already overcome the difficulties of being born into his family, and the expectations his brother has for him. Go hunny!

Ruka Nogi - Gakuen Alice
I guess for this character, it's not that he's extremely funny, scary, or anything along those lines. He seems to be average at most things, if not all things. But the one thing that seemed to draw me towards him was one word: sympathy. He was just so nice, maybe a bit too nice? Shy, animal-loving, Ruka who has the big problem of confessing to Mikan about how he feels. And at the same time he's the best friend of Natsume. Although I do quite get bored of the overly used "3-way triangle" which is always between a clumsy but always happy girl, a super fantastic nice guy that would always be rejected, and the bad boy who usually ends up with the girl. Though the manga is pretty good at balancing the romance between both Ruka and Natsume, something tells me that in the end Natsume and Mikan will be together. Which kind of makes me sad, because well... poor Ruka. Still, he is one of the most memorable characters from Gakuen Alice for me.

Hotaru Imai - Gakuen Alice
She is my favorite female character in Gakuen Alice. Her ignorant, stubborn, and icy personality just seems to be too hard to come by. She's a smart girl and also quite a good friend. I always enjoy finding out about her inventions because of her great Alice, and the ideas that she comes up with (or the ideas the author comes up with for her) is clever and fits into her character very well. There are many people who are rooting for the Ruka & Hotaru couple, but if you ask me, the chances just seem kind of... unlikely. There seems to be little to no romance between the two of them, but a lot of times the two pairs of best friends just seem to merge together. But in this case, the two of them together seems fine as well. I also enjoy seeing the interaction between her and her brother (mostly during the manga)

Hikari Hanazono - SA Special A
Simply put, the girl is just amazing. She's a hard-working girl and doesn't give up whenever she is placed second to the genius, Kei Takashima. She is brilliant in both academics and athletics, but is clueless when it comes to love (as expected from the heroine) Her actions would be very hard to believe in reality, but she's still amusing. Also her personality is the best character that joins all the characters of the story together.

Yahiro Saiga - SA Special A
This kid is just plain... misunderstood. Throughout the anime and manga, he is portrayed as the villain of all the characters. But in reality, he's actually a very, VERY good person. As seen in one of the episodes of SA Special A and also one of the manga chapters, the only reason he threatened all of Akira's female companions was because they were only friends with her for money, etc. And he only wanted to "protect" her from betrayal. Even though his intentions are good, you can also say his intentions are stupid. I hope he stops it with the villain act soon, because I am secretly rooting for the Akira & Yahiro couple.

Sana Kurata - Kodocha
She is the character that is constantly reminding me of Mikan Sakura from Gakuen Alice. The same pigtails and overly-hyped attitude that makes them even seem related. Their pasts about their mothers can both relate to each other, and even the main male character (Hayama) seems to be like Natsume! It is quite odd, I think. Sana is more of a comedy character (her actions are funny, but well... physically impossible in real life) Throughout the manga for Gakuen Alice, Mikan is not as funny as Sana, but Mikan gets me much more emotional and into the story than Sana does.

Torhu Honda- Fruits Basket
Maybe she is the one female lead character that I personally really like. She's strong, independent, and even though the 3-way triangle seems to appear again, the feeling just seems different. Torhu resembles some qualities from other female leads, such as clumsy, and maybe not that smart, but also kind. The Fruits Basket plot is one of the best I've ever read, and she seems to have helped every single person in the story (minus the Yuki fan club) Although the story of her mother passing away is kind of cliche, I wouldn't see her as the strong character she is without her past.

Eiji Kikumaru - Prince of Tennis
I have only watched the anime (once is enough, I don't want to start reading all those chapters in the manga...) and the whole story just seemed very unrealistic to me. Especially Eiji. To be able to do acrobatics in the air while incorporating it with tennis may seem like the coolest idea ever, but would someone be able to do that in real life? And to be a ninth grader? Maybe that's why I enjoy this anime, because it all seemed so unreal. Eiji lands in the same category as Hunny-senpai (from Ouran) because of his constant cute pouts and those cat like sounds that come out of his mouth. He is more adorable than the youngest member of the team (Ryoma Echizen)

Sakuno Ryuzaki - Prince of Tennis
This girl just really bugs me. I have already grasped the concept that she is the shy and quiet type of girl, but still, it gets very annoying especially during her encounters with Ryoma Echizen. JUST SAY YOU LIKE HIM ALREADY! GIVE HIM THE BENTO YOU MADE! GOSH!
