![]() Author has written 16 stories for Phantom of the Opera, Elder Scroll series, Final Fantasy VII, and Alexander. I haven't updated my profile for a long while. Well, you guessed right. XD Sephiroth is my newest character obsession. And the lovely avatar I have is a Christmas gift from my friend. I am not a big fan of stereotypes and typical romance. For me, sex or marriage is not a goal of romance. That usually means my characters are not going to be shy about physical intimacy. The character Erik in my fics is not the hopeless romantic who will shy away from sex without love. He is not someone who just waits to be loved and will turn into a good man with the help of love. He doesn't want to be normal like everyone else. I love the phantom potrayed by Gerald Butler and I make no apologies for that. I love Gerry's singing because it touches my heart. The only singer I love more is my beloved Freddie Mercury (Yes, I love Queen!) and that's really something considering Gerry is an actor who can sing rather than a singer who can act. My first fan fic, Quest of Heart, was written because I wanted someone to write a story about how the relationship between Erik and Christine could change if Erik's face became perfect. Then I thought about a modern girl who had more access to the secrets of the unconscious mind. So, the story began. I did try to incoporate some of my thoughts on dreams and reality, physical love and abandonment, the concept of soul mates, etc. In the end, many of these reflections were not included in the story because I wanted the story to run as smooth as possible. For instance, I believe soul mates do not have to be the opposite sex. They don't have to be even the same species. Sexual attraction is not necessary. Your soul mate makes you feel at home, bring out the feeling of belonging. She could be your sister, your pet, or your friend. My second fic, Erik's prisoner, is a light hearted approach as to how lust can turn into love in captivity. The character Oscar is from a heroine named Oscar in a cartoon called ‘Rose of Versailles’. As a child, I was fascinated by the character because it treaded the ambiguity between the maleness and the femaleness. She is a daughter of a French General who was desperate for a son and subsequently raised as a man to join the Royal Guard. André in the story is her childhood friend and a manservant. His devotion in the end moves her. After she fails to win the heart of a Swedish aristocrat who set his heart on the French queen, she marries him in secret on the eve of French revolution. They both perish in a battle field. I thought it would make an interesting paring if she was born a century later and somehow met Erik. The whole fic started from the simple idea. The heroine's psychology is more that of a man because she had been raised as such. She doesn't just act like a man. She thinks like a man. Lucien's shadow is a product of my love for the character 'Lucien'. Hopefully I have done justice to my favorite character in Oblivion. I'm writing Reversing Fate for the same reason. The plotline will be very much different from Lucien's Shadow, but he will never lose against Bellamont in my longish fics. I'm glad that I found fanfiction net. It is a good community and the support we give each other adds that extra specialness to the joy of writing (though sometimes I wonder why on earth I committed myself to another fic - there are plenty of good fics to read and enjoy). |
