![]() Author has written 10 stories for Garasu no Kamen. Here's some things you might want to know about me as a fanfiction writer: About nine tenths of my work is pointless fluff, written solely to entertain myself and others who like that sort of thing. I should also warn you all: I'm an epicly slow writer. I have heaps of ideas, but when it comes to writing them down, I'm skittish. Sometimes, I tackle four pages in a day, and the next week, I can't even get down a word. oxoxo Upcoming Works: Glass Mask Comfort - Sequel to "Consequences". Rei finds a healthy middle-ground in her meddling, Eisuke reminisces, Masumi decides to use theatre as a method of wooing and Maya buys a considerate gift. Also, there's a detective who severely lacks gravitas, cakes, psychological breakthroughs and long-honoured shojou manga traditions. Indulgence - The obligatory "Masumi tries to quit smoking"-fic. Masumi comes to the startling realization that without nicotine, he hates the human race. Mizuki just thinks he's being a drama queen. Part Two of Crimson and Gold - Wherein a guest list is composed, the status quo is upset and people are generally baffled. Chapter Five of Taming the Shrewd - Maya puts her best foot forward. Chapter Four of Great Minds - Masumi and Tsukikage do have some values in common. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Yuu and Shigeru make a tentative connection over a blend of single malt whisky, bad past (and current) decisions, and cream puffs. Pre-Yuu/Shigeru (hihi, I'm so excited for this, even though it's beyond silly). oxoxo I'd like to apologize to those who're disappointed with my portrayal of Maya and Masumi. I've come to realize, thanks to my reviewers and a little bit of introspection, that I'm a mood writer. This term (which I just made up) means that when I'm writing a comedic story, I tend to highlight the characters' humorous traits, and let them overshadow the other facets of their personality. I don't think I'm entirely wrong in doing this, as I do it to make the most out of the story. I've discovered that I like to prod and poke at the characters like sadistic school child with a stick, which is something Miuchi definitely doesn't do (well... "Glass Mask" has it's sadistic moments, but they're never childish). While I don't want to give up experimenting with the characters, the setting and my own style, I've tried to take the criticism that I'm too liberal with my characterisation to heart and create something that people who want the original "Glass Mask" experience will enjoy. It... it didn't work out that well. It came out looking like a sad, uninteresting pastiche. But what might be construed as good news is that I don't intend to write a Masumi and Maya who have absolutely nothing to do with the canon. I'll write about subjects that actually originates from the original story: revenge, manipulation, obsession, capitalism, underdogs, acting, child abuse, self-destruction and death (damn, but "Glass Mask" is dark). And, also, you know, true love, camaraderie, self-realization, picturesque Japanese landscapes, sexual tension so thick you can choke on it, what have you. But whereas Miuchi weave all of these subjects into a rich tapestry, I'll put them under a microscope and then messily dissect them (whilst cackling madly, naturally). But there is, of course, a thing as taking too many liberties. If you have any questions, suggestions or constructive criticism, please leave a review or PM me. oxoxo To my horror, I've neglected to post a disclaimer with my stories. So, I'm posting one here: I don't own the characters or the shows that I write fanfiction about. It's all just for fun. oxoxo My avatar is a fanart of Masumi, drawn by the very talented Hibiki Sakuraya. oxoxo P.S. To Riptiderobin and El Scribe, as well as everyone else who've given me their opinion on my stories, thank you so much for your reviews. It's quite absurd how happy they make me, causing me to dance in a demented fashion. |
