![]() Author has written 22 stories for Harry Potter, and A song of Ice and Fire. Hello to everyone out there on FanFiction.net! Let's put a little bit about me for my profile shall we? I'm eighteen years old, I come from Bristol, England and I am a young writer, singer/songwriter and actress (when I'm not busy with my A-Levels!) I adore Harry Potter, it was the series that defined my childhood and whether or not it's "great literature" it deserves a place among the British greats. As such, I have some pretty strong feelings about it, and the people who ought to be shipped. Romione are my OTP and anyone who doesn't ship them clearly hasn't read the series properly. Usually, I don't go in for ship wars (peace and love and multishipping) but when people attack Romione, I am not a happy fangirl. As a result, I manage to include them in fics that have nothing to do with them, really (see "Just A Name" and "The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black"). I can't stand Weasley bashing, especially when directed at Ron. I knowed he is riddled with flawas but that is what makes him so admirable: he isn't a natural hero like Harry, but he steps up the the plate when he has to, even though he knows he won't get any credit, and will continue to be overshadowed by Harry just as he has been by his brothers. I love him a bit, as you might have guessed. Remus/Tonks Love against all the odds never fails to win me over. I love both characters to death and thus will happily sail this ship. I know a lot of people (mostly Wolfstar shippers) will argue that they didn't show the faintest signs of attraction to each other during OotP, but we really didn't see them together much, in all honesty, and Harry was so wrapped up in his own angst in that book that he probably wouldn't have nooticed if he'd caught them going at it on the kitchen table of Grimmauld Place. I dream of a world in which Remus/Tonks and Wolfstar can co-exist peacefully. Speaking of which... Wolfstar Don't get me started on my feelings about either of these characters. They break my heart, and together it's even worse and yet so much better. Funnily enough, they are the pair I have written most about; probably because they aren't canon, so there's nothing to rest on from Jo (apart from those forty lines, obviously). One thing I must say: for the love of Merlin PLEASE don't use "Siri" and "Remmy". Please. Jily made Harry, and therefore are wonderful. I enjoy thinking about how Lily reacts when she realises her feelings for James. I imagine it would go something like "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)" from Hercules. Harmony are abhorrent and wrong. I know some people will argue that because they're so easy around each other and aren't afraid to be physically close that that means they're in love. It doesn't. The reason they can do this is because THERE IS NO SEXUAL TENSION BETWEEN THEM. "I love her like a sister" - you have it from the horse's mouth. Drarry ... C'mon. Seriously? Snarry Just don't. Please. Snily on the other hand... Oh Merlin! I do but I don't. It's all very confusing. I don't like talking about it. Vis a Vis things that aren't Harry Potter: Everything was going so well in Downton Abbey until Fellowes decided to kill my favourite character and one half of my OTP. I will never be over that. Just like I will never be over Thomas/Edward. Why must Fellowes kill the things I love? I MIGHT forgive him if he gives me Carson/Violet but I know that will never happen in the canon. I want to strangle Moffat for the last series of Sherlock. How did he do it?? I'm pretty sure it's an unpopular opinion in the fandom, but I don't ship Sherlock with anyone. All right, sometimes I have to shout "GAY" at him and John, but I wouldn't actually want it to be canon. I think being asexual is an important part of his character. On the other hand, Merlin gets shipped with everyone. Mostly with Arthur, because they are so obviously in love, that even my Dad shouts at them. However, I will also happily ship Merwaine, Mergana, Merwen (from the early days) and Mercelot. Also Gwencelot. I want to ship Arwen, but I just don't feel like they have chemistry in the same way that Merthur and Gwencelot do. A few of my absolute favourite fanfic stories that I think you should definitely have a look at are: Anything from The Crusadeiverse by theelderwand1 Covered in Crimson by cklls (Rated M) Any of Minerva Evenstar's Wolfstar fics. My Own Stories (should you wish to peruse them): Just A Name: My first, a long Scorpius/Lily that improves as it goes on. I am, however, fairly proud of my characterisation of Scorpius (who tends to either be Albus's best buddy in Gryffindor/Syltherin or just Draco Mark 2) and the fact that it has both romance and a properly magical and adventurous plot. One day I might go back and tweak it. One day. If This Is It: Surprisingly, my only Romione, though J.K. does them so well that nothing really needs adding. Apart from this. This is what I (NOT YOU KLOVES) think happened in the Chamber of Secrets. The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black: My only other multi-chapter, still in progress. I'm very fond of this one, it's mostly a character study based around Sirius's time in Grimmauld Place. I love writing Sirius and Remus's friendship, but I'm trying to keep it strictly canon, but those damn puppies keep getting themselves into slightly homoerotic situations, which I then have to counter with pink hair. The Photograph: The first one-shot I wrote in an attempt to purge myself of the excessive Wolfstar feelings I'm not allowed to express in NAMAHOB. Harry finds out about Sirius and Remus after the former has died, done because there are loads of them out there, but none of them seem to quite work for me. This is also my attempt to reconcile Wolfstar and Remadora. Half-Blood Half-Breed: My second attempt to get Wolfstar out of my system, slightly fluffy, but with a bit of angst as well. Sirius standing up to his family about his relationship with Remus, but not a Sirius leaves home story. You'll see when you read it. I kinda feel bad for not exploring Remus's character in this, but then again it is predominantly a story about Sirius, so I dunno. Conflicted: Just a little headcanon of mine about Remus and Lily. I know in the book very little is made of their friendship but I actually really liked Remus's speech in the film of PoA (which takes a lot of effort to say, since I want to throw things at Kloves) about their relationship as well, because I think they would have been friends, even though Remus was a Marauder. The Worst One:My shortest fic, but I think the one I'm most proud of, and the one that has fewest reviews - the irony bunny strikes again. Although I hate fics that make Draco into some kind of hero, I find him a really fascinating character, so this is a drabble about him watching Bellatrix torture Hermione. Risks A Hat Can Take: Definitely the most original fic I've ever written. I always felt as though Neville is what Wormtail ought to have been, and this is my attempt to explain this, told through the eyes of the Sorting Hat. The Lake, The Dance and The Bet: Possibly the fluffliest bit of fluff since Arnold the Pygmy Puff had a banquet of candyfloss and marshmallows. Yet another attempt to rid myself of Wolfstar, but I'm beginning to think that's impossible. Old Light: This had to be done to counter the hideous amounts of fluff above. Yet again, Wolfstar centred. This needs to stop. Please: A collection of drabbles about the times people said "please" to Severus Snape, leading up to that fatal night on the Astronomy Tower. I like the concept of this one, but I don't know if I pulled it off stylistically. Have a read and lt me know? Young: Just a little oneshot based on a slightly drunken conversation with my sister (since she's recently taken to calling me Moony). Then somehow I Wolfstar-angsted all over it. Ah well, I quite like how it worked out :) The Unthinkable: This will be a collection of five drabbles of various characters responding to Sirius's death, leading up to Remus. Naturally, this comes with lashings of angst. I'm A Fool: This came about because it seems as though every song I listen to is about Remus at the moment. Not a songfic in the traditional sense, but the feel and language of the song I've chosen (Billie Holiday's I'm A Fool To Want You) is very much present in the way I have written the piece. Set during the First War, as Remus thinks on his relationship with Sirius. Not Grieving: I have a lot of feelings about Petunia, hence this. Petunia attends Lily's funeral, she tells herself it's out of duty, not grief. Mostly inspired by the missing line from both the book and the film "You didn't just lose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow. I lost a sister." White Blank Page: Based on Mumford and Sons' stunning song, it's another angst-filled Wolfstar morsel I'm afraid. Set both during the Marauders' era and OotP, with hints of Remadora. Scars: I wrote this for congratsyou'vegrownasoul and it's basically fluffy fluffy Remadora fluff. In my head it was going to be slightly more angsty (though still happy) but somehow the fluff just wouldn't stop! Somebody That I Used To Know: Another songfic-ish oneshot. Set during the summer before OotP, we see Wolfstar from Hermione's POV. Must say I found this style really difficult to pull off, since I'm so used to writing Remus. I think it was definitely the right way to go with this fic, though, since it could have been really heavy, but ended up being much more light-hearted! I also have about a million plot bunnies leaping around my brain, trying to (and succeeding in) distracting me from my schoolwork, so I am sure there will be more soon. Anyhoo, that's enough of my waffle - must get back to writing! |
