Haru and Makoto love each other. Their friends know it; the cat at the bottom of the stairs knows it; heck, even the water they swim in knows it. And yet, neither of them have a clue. Being a slave meant that one's rights had either been taken away or sold. It meant that Makoto's standing was far below a typical servant-rank.
