![]() Author has written 1 story for Harvest Moon. ~About Me!~ (Formerly Rachelizabeth1224!) Hello everyone! My name is Rachel, and I write things sometimes! Sometimes, that writing is even halfway decent. Emphasis on the sometimes bit haha. As a science major/pre-med student, my writing is usually more on the academic side, which is toooootally different from creative writing. There are so many tiny little nuances, and unnecessary rules, and weird conventions that you never even would've dreamed of! While I do enjoy that sort of thing (and I've learned a bunch in the process!), I've found that it's really nice to cut loose and write about fictional things on occasion. I haven't had much practice, and I know that I'm not the greatest at it, but it's still a lot of fun and I've really enjoyed myself so far! Plus, if even one person out there is mildly entertained by the things that I write, then I'd definitely call that a success. :) Thanks for stopping by, and if you're reading this, then I hope you have a lovely day! Age: 21 Major: Psychology/Neuroscience; Pre-Med Gender: Female Location: USA ~Favorite Things~ Books: Oh, gosh, where do I start? I have no time to read anymore, it seems, but! My favorites of all time are Howl's Moving Castle, 1984, and anything in the Gemma Doyle trilogy. There are so many others that I like, but those are the ones that come to mind! I'm always open to good book recommendations though, so shoot me a message if you know of any good ones! :) Currently Reading: Nothing at the moment, besides a mountain of overpriced (but, admittedly, interesting) textbooks! Right now, I'm reading two: Social Neuroscience and Neurobiology. Hooray for brain stuff! Movies: I don't watch too many movies, admittedly, but I do really like Forrest Gump and Les Miserables! Anything Disney is fair game too, but Mulan and The Princess and the Frog are my top two! Games: Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons/Rune Factory, Stardew Valley, Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Bravely Default, and Persona, to name a few! I play so many that it's easy to lose track haha. Hobbies: Sleeping, napping, or anything else involving laying in bed and doing nothing all day tbh. I used to be an avid soccer player, but I quit to focus more on schoolwork! Right now, I play Quizbowl for my school in my spare time (which is basically really difficult team Jeopardy), and I'm also an editor of a literary magazine. I also make sandwiches every week for a local shelter, though I'm not sure if that qualifies as a hobby! Color: Definitely yellow. The brighter, the better! Food: Anything involving cheesecake. Or cheese in general, really! I love just about anything sweet though! In fact, I taught myself how to bake just because I was craving cookies once. I've been really into trying new recipes lately, and even made macarons with my sister the other day! They cracked a bit, but I'm still really proud. They're much tougher to make than they seem! Projects Immunity: I know that I've been really slow to update lately, but thank you all for your continued support! I'm totally, definitely going to see it through to the end. In Which Michael Becomes an Aunt (Howl's Moving Castle)- Just a cute, plotless little one-shot for my favorite book of all time. I'll definitely finish writing it for grins and giggles, but whether it gets published or not depends on how it actually turns out! Yet-To-Be-Named (But it's Harvest Moon!): With Immunity wrapping up, I've started writing a Trent/Jill story. It's going pretty okay far, if I do say so myself! I hope you guys will like it! ~Random Facts About Myself!~ 1. I play the flute! I'm not the best at it, but it's pretty fun, and I like it a lot. I've never written music before, but I think that would be something cool to do in the future! 2) I can recite the first 30 digits of pi! My 4th grade math teacher wrote them in the board and said off-handedly that we'd never be able to memorize them, nor would we ever have a need to do so. Naturally, I took that as a challenge, and here we are! This seemingly random skill even landed me a college scholarship. How lucky was it that my interviewer was a math professor? 3) I have a mild obsession with socks. Seriously though, I freaking love getting them as gifts. My favorites so far include one with bacon and eggs on them, and another with ice cream cones. How cool is that? (See what I did there? Because it's ice cream? Comedy gold, people!) 4) I work at a library! It's mostly "dull" stuff like checking out books or banging on the printer until it works, but half of the time, I get to repair damaged books! It sounds boring, but it's actually pretty neat. I got to hold a first edition Charles Dickens book the other day and just about fainted. 5) I have an autoimmune disease called ulcerative colitis. It's not usually fatal, but it sure does suck! I'm luckier than most in that mine is severe but the symptoms are almost completely controlled by medication, but there are many out there who suffer every single day because of their disease. I know that most people reading this are probably students who are already in enough debt, but if you do happen to have money to spare, please consider donating to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation! It really is a horrific disease, even if it's not well-known, and even just one or two dollars could go a long way.
