I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Whether I've been any good or not it certainly up for debate, but I've dramatically improved over the last two years or so, mostly due to fanfic. I write poetry professionally, but this is where I play! I write fanfic because I love fandoms, I love playing with my favourite characters in new settings and getting to know them a little bit better. I'm a terminal shipper, so I also quite like making them kiss.

I write to answer questions. Those questions might be about what would happen in a certain situation, what a character would do if presented with a particular problem, or they might be questions I try to answer for myself by exploring them through the lens of characters I love. My writing is driven by character, and I cannot write unless I have an understanding of the character and their motives. To me, exploring a character is even more interesting than exploring a story. For that reason, my characters tend to have a lot of problems to work through!

I do take writing requests, but only if it is something I am comfortable writing. If I were to try and write a story or a character that I didn't know well enough, or couldn't sympathise with, I would be doing a disservice to myself, the characters, and most importantly my readers. But I'm happy to listen to any requests for stories and give them a go, or any beta requests. I also love to chat, so please drop me a line!

Notes on individual fandoms:

The vast majority of my Lord of the Rings fanfictions will feature an OC main character; usually female. This is because, as marvelous as Tolkien's works are, they're drastically devoid of female characters--in order for my romantic little heart to be content, I have to make em up.
