Hi, my name is Anni and since January 2011 I have been a FanFiction writer, reader and reviewer.

Regrettably, I have discontinued all of my ongoing stories. This is due to the continued pressure I felt to produce new chapters, when A) I didn't have the time to write and complete my school work. And B) I felt my work wasn't up to the standard I aimed for, to bother continuing.

Having said this, I have not completely gone - My stories may have been taken down, but have not been deleted. They now exist in separate files on my laptop, readily awaiting improvements before I re-post them. Also, shall I ever find the time, I have many one-shot ideas that I am eager to write. Until then, I run a small blog that tells the story of the average sixteen year old girl finding her way in the world. If you have the time, check it out here --

The day I joined FanFiction marked the 6th month anniversary of my friend's death. In the grip of crippling depression I turned to television for the release and distraction from my mind that came with the genre fiction. Quickly, I realized that when the TV made me smile, I did not feel guilty for my happiness. One show left a big smile on my face - Sonny With A Chance - and as the season came to an end, I yearned for more. With a smile on my face I turned to the internet in search for pictures and information... but instead was presented with a page of writing. There before me was a story called 'Pancakes', which included my two favorite characters. The more I read, the more I smiled and the less I felt depressed. But more than that - suddenly I wasn't feeling guilty for my laughter, because it wasn't the real world, the world without my friend, making me happy. It was the creative minds of faceless humans via a screen putting the smile back on my face.

Within weeks I had found the inspiration for my own story, so set about making an account and creating the first chapter. I wrote a lot, and wrote it quickly. Looking back, it was nowhere near my best, but that doesn't matter to me. My fanfiction career represented, for me, my ability to cope. In a world where moving on is everything, fanfiction is my transition from innocent child to mature young adult.

Without my writing and the people I have met on Fanficton, I wouldn't be who I am today, two years later. And that is why I dedicate my writing to my friend. Robbed from this Earth too young, you will always be missed and never be forgotten.

No matter how much I write, I will always be Smiling At The Tv, and I will always be a FanFiction writer.
